Hi there! I'm Emily Pogozelski and I created Pogo Photo to tell love stories through joyful documentary photography. I strive to capture the feeling of your day as well as the beauty, taking not-so-secret pleasure in riding a rollercoaster of emotions with you and your loved ones.
My goal is to make sure every client has an enjoyable and memorable experience. My clients are never just clients; I've always found that my best images are created with people I connect with, and I've connected with amazing people from all over the world. After over a decade photographing weddings I've learned that life is beautiful: messy, unscripted, and unpredictable, but beautiful just as it is.

me to another one of our vendors they had nothing but great things to say about how they love her and how talented she is. Her photo style is unique and beautiful, with a focus on candids and documentary style photos.
As our conversation progressed during that first meeting, we knew we wanted her to photograph our wedding, my fiance and I didn't even need to discuss it.
She was so friendly, easy to talk to, and reassured us of our fears! I have read and seen too many videos about brides being disappointed with their wedding photos and we wanted to make sure this day would be captured beautifully and knew Emily would make that happen. We were also concerned about worst case scenario- Emily not being able to photograph the day of due to any number of reasons (maybe we're paranoid?). Initially we were interested in a company that has a network of photographers but we weren't able to see their portfolios before signing a contract. The upside of that company is they'd be able to send another photographer should something fall through- accident, sickness, emergency. Emily's response to our concerns completely erased any worry we had. This is a woman with a plan for EVERYTHING! I trust her immensely.
She also gave me some kind words of reassurance during our check-in call a few weeks before the wedding, which I appreciate so much.
The day of, Emily and her sister Monica photographed our wedding and I just have to say how awesome they are! They were both so friendly, down to earth, and to see these two talented professionals at work was really cool to witness. For our family photos they kept us on track for time while the rest of us were so focused on the fun we were having.
During the reception I feel like I barely saw Emily and Monica which made it that much more fun to see our photos! There are moments captured I don't even remember at the time but can look back on happily.
Overall, I can't say enough how happy I am with Pogo Photo. I HIGHLY recommend her! She's the perfect photographer to capture your most special occasions.

Emily does is amazing, her style and design is what you see on her website and it really does capture the feelings of the day. Unfortunately the review is due to the lack of service when it came to receiving our photos. My husband and I had to wait until the last week in the contract (nearly 3 months) to receive our photos. There was limited communication and not a preview provided, which compared to friends seemed unusual. Once we received the photos we truly loved them but we had questions/feedback on some of them. For example we had one formal portrait of us and I was not smiling so I asked to see others that may not have been selected, which in the contract it states you can request photos if still available. Three emails all went unanswered and we never heard back from Emily after she sent the links to our photos. I like to think COVID made this a unique situation but knowing so many vendors were eager for business it really was a shame to not receive the top notch service and after you trust someone to capture one of the most important days of your lives, a simple response would have been appreciated.

Em and Steve nailed it - when I look back at our photos I feel like I am stepping back into the day am able to relive the joy that just radiates from the photos. The photos are editorial quality and look like they are from a professional magazine shoot. The Pogos are truly artists. They are also so much fun to work with - completely prepared, professional, light-hearted, and so easy to be around. Our families absolutely loved them day-of (we got married 7 months ago and my dad is still raving about them) and we were all blown away by the final photos. Steve was basically a groomsman by the end of the day with the fun we had, and my wife loved working with Em. They are thoughtful, kind, funny, and willing to go the extra mile for you. They seven gave us a ride home after the wedding because our shuttle took too long! I honestly spent more time with them than anyone else on my wedding day and it was like having your friend with you all day. And the photos are amazing. They will be treasured for a long long time. e wedding day with your photographer. It was true! But aside from being a great, funny and fun-loving couple, The Pogos are amongst the best photographers you could hire to capture your wedding day. I’ve hired photographers before for work projects (nyc fashion photographers) and was blown away with the Pogos talent, equipment and work.
As part of our photography package we also included an “engagement session”, which was great as it gave us a chance to get to know Emily and Steve prior to our wedding day and get some practice in front of their cameras. It felt like just a fun day hanging out with friends in the park. Our photo session was under 2 hours and I was very impressed with how many great shots they got in that short amount of time. I was expecting maybe a dozen or so “good ones”, but ended up with about 100 gorgeous shots! That’s incredible for such a short amount of shooting time. I can only imagine how many beautiful shots we’ll be getting from a full wedding day’s time to work with.
At our rehearsal dinner our guests got to know the Pogos as well and many commented on how fun and entertaining they were. On our wedding day, the Pogos were there taking charge during the formal photos and casually blended in with the party during the reception. I am confident they didn’t miss a beat capturing every moment!

It took very little time for them to understand exactly what type of reception we were having and what kind of photos we were looking for. Their level of professionalism is amazing and their dedication to the work is fantastic. Em and Steve will do almost anything to get the perfect shot! My husband and I are both super awkward in front of a camera but they are so good at what they do, it's almost like you forget they have a huge camera lens pointed at your face. Their photos come out so natural and capture the love between couples effortlessly.
Em + Steve Pogozelski (affectionately known as the Pogos) are the most professional and talented yet fun and lively photographers you could ask for. From the moment we booked them for our engagement shoot to the day we got married (and beyond) they have been an absolute blast to work with! If you need proof of this... at one point during the reception, the dance floor was completely empty. Before I could even begin to stress about it, I look up and see Em dancing by herself and then in comes Steve with an epic 80's rockstar knee slide across the room. It was probably one of my favorite moments of the night.
Bottom line, if you want high quality photos that look like no other wedding photography you've seen on Pinterest a million times, plus a little bit of entertainment rolled into to one, I highly recommend Pogo Photo. :)

eady, to the ceremony, to the reception, the entire day was absolutely perfect. I am beyond thrilled that Emily and Steve were there to capture that special day for us. As a team, Emily and Steve work exceptionally well together from bouncing ideas of one another to their competitive nature as to “who got the better shot”. They take the more creative path when shooting photos and capture moments that most people may have missed!
As the bride, there is so much to remember the day of the wedding that it can be overwhelming and hard to just focus on enjoying the day. Emily, having shot many weddings as well as a being a recent bride herself, knew all the right things to say and do. She made it clear she was going to stay by my side and she did just that! She did more than just take great pictures, she gave moral support, advice and suggestions! When my hair was falling out….she even assisted one of my bridesmaids with taking out the countless number of bobby pins!! She did all of this and so much more on a day when she wasn’t even feeling 100% well.
Steve stayed with the guys from the beginning when they were getting dressed, to the ceremony itself, till way passed the late hours of the reception. He was with the guys for more than just the pictures….he helped calm nerves, helped maintain order and keep them on a schedule! He even passed along a “special” boudoir photography album (also taken and created by Pogo Photo) to my soon to be husband while capturing his response on camera!
