Point Washington Preserve

I was so excited about this venue for my wedding and had planned for a forest outdoor experience that was unfortunately ruined at the last minute. I felt like the attitude from the owner of the property was that they already had our money and didn’t care what the venue looked like on the day of our wedding in December. We drove up to the venue the day before the wedding and all of the trees had been cut down and were in various stages of construction with heavy logging equipment in plain sight. Because we were not notified that this would be happening and did not find out until the night before the wedding, it left us with no other option but to proceed. I understand now that the property is undergoing major changes and I would highly suggest not only going to see it now before booking but to have a clear plan as to what other construction plans are in the works that could totally upset your wedding. The manager was easy to work with but the only time I encountered the owner he was rude and annoyed to have us visit the site to measure or plan for our set up. That would be understandable if this wasn’t a free standing venue that requires you to bring literally EVERYTHING including kitchen/food truck so logistical planning for power and set up is something that should be expected. Overall I don’t think they are accommodating to more intricate weddings so if you want a picnic in the middle of a construction site go ahead. So so sad and disappointed.
