Our cake was included in the services we obtained from our venue which was Michael’s Tuscany Room in San Pedro. We met with the staff at Polly Ann Bakery for cake tasting about a m...
onth before our wedding. We got to try about 6 different cake flavors with different fillings and they were all delicious. We chose the round 4 tiered cake and we got to pick different flavors for each. We chose the chocolate cake with raspberry filling and cream cheese frosting for 2, and the shite cake with strawberry filling for the other two. Every one complimented us on the cake’s flavor and look. Thank you Polly Ann Bakery!
We wanted to support a local business and they partnered with our wedding reception venue's package. We went into the shop, and it was a nightmare. The place is old and needs updat...
es. The display cases are empty. The staff seemed like zombies and didn't seem to care that we were there, nor excited for us and our wedding. Put on a fake smile and pretend, for crying out loud! We read a review where they screwed up this wedding cake and it looked horrible, so we went with a basic cake. All white frosting and basic decor. Honestly, it looked better than I thought! It tasted just as good as the tastings we had weeks prior.
Very helpful bakery! We gave them a picture of what we wanted and that is what they made! They did my parents wedding 27 years ago and have not changed their amazing ways! The cake...
itself is absolutely delicious, it melts in your mouth and the frosting is perfect. They delivered on time and made exactly what we wanted!
Diane and the Polly Anns Bakery staff was a dream to work with. Our cake (4 tiers and 4 different flavors!) is still being talked about. From the tasting to the design - Diane was ...
patient and listened to what we wanted. When it came to the final decisions about the design of the cake I left it all in their hands and I would not have had it any other way. It was absolutely perfect. And I will continue to use them for all of my bakery and cake needs!
Our wedding cake was SO GOOD! Consistent, not dry, and the frosting was delicious! They were easy to work with, the tasting was amazing, and everyone raved about how good our cake ...
was.
I had my wedding cake made here for last weekend and they did a very good job! Better than I thought it would be! Went with the chocolate and chiffon with vanilla custard and it wa...
s good. :) Wish we would have been able to have some leftovers to take home so I could have tried some of it! Thank you!
Such a cute little shop that makes the most elegant and yummy cakes. Our wedding cake turned out fabulous and I received so many complements on how good the cake tasted! We ordered...
the marble cake with the chocolate filling and the white cake with the strawberry filing for our wedding cake and it was the perfect mix for our guests. They did a very nice job decorating as well, I brought in a picture and our cake was very similar to it. Such nice people working there too.
Absolutely beautiful and delicious cake! I was so happy that they worked with me to design my dream cake. They ordered styrofoam insterts for me to paint and spray paint with glitt...
er to add some extra sparkle, and they let us taste many different flavors. They also offered to bake us another small cake for our anniversary, so that we don't have to eat year old frozen cake! I would definitely recommend these ladies, and definitely try the red velvet cake!
Polly Ann Bakery did a fabulous job with my wedding cake. It looked beautiful and they matched the wedding colors nicely. The price was much cheaper than all the other bakery shops...
that I visited and they did not try to nickel and dime me for everything. They provide the option of a refund when I return the cake pillars which was nice because i will not use them again. Also the cake taste really good....
Polly Ann's is SO delicious! All of our guests enjoyed eating the cake and so did I! The cake was absolutely beautiful - I saw the cake during our first dance and couldn't help b...
ut comment to my husband on it. The cake decorator was very helpful and we got to taste several flavors.
The bad on-line write-ups elsewhere of Polly Ann's is not what we experienced at all! The bride (me) was going to totally dismiss them from the short list without even trying them...
- based on the on-line reviews. Since the groom is a great lover of frosted cake, he wanted a chance to check them out, too. I'm glad we did!
It was no small feat to come out on top of all the choices. There were lots of flavor combinations from which to choose. At our pre-arranged cake tasting, Diane showed us the moistest cake and best frosting of all the ones we had tried, including other bakeries that were "specialty priced." In fact, we found Polly Ann Bakery more than accommodating to our requests without continuously adding on extra fees.
We showed Diane the cake topper ahead of time when we ordered the cake, so they could reckon with the weight of it from the beginning. The plastic cake supports seemed pricey at $40, but we got $30 of it back when we returned three of them. The 4th one was on the top of the top layer and we didn't want to remove it before freezing it, so we didn't get a total refund.
The cake was beautiful and tasted wonderful. Diane and her crew were outstanding. Our Groom's cake was also creatively done. We wanted a train steam engine. We provided a carved cake pan and photo for colors for a concept and left the details to them. They developed a superb train engine!
On our various trips to drop off the cake topper and discuss the groom's cake, we also tried their other bakery items such as the mocha and the vanilla Florentine rolls, frosted sugar cookies and nutty treats - all to our delight. Do not overlook this bakery for your special functions!
I loved that our cake could not have looked more PERFECT and EXACTLY what we wanted. I loved how our cake was so DELICIOUS and there was barely any left! I loved how the portion/ca...
ke size was nearly right on - there was some left over, but I would MUCH rather have that than to have too little. I loved how the price was! There are SO many vendors out there and I ended up with this small place based on yet another recommendation. The price even with the $100 delivery charge (just because the reception site was SO far away from the bakery), was still at LEAST $150 cheaper than any other cake place I found.
After going to Ramona Bakery in San Pedro where we were met with poor service, we decided to try Polly Ann. The cake was very inexpensive but tasted EXCELLENT! We cannot wait for o...
ur anniversary to eat some more of our wedding cake!;The samples we were given to try were not great, so we were not expecting a great cake. We were pleasantly surprised by our excellent cake on the wedding day!
