Finding a hair and makeup team that worked for me was the hardest search for my wedding day. After having a failed trial with a local salon I was blown away by Davina and her team. She made sure she understood exactly what I was looking for, she reviewed my past experience and she was overall very sweet and easy to work with. If you are looking for someone who knows what she is doing, I highly recommend that you book Davina and her team. They gave me a very good timeline so that I knew how much time I needed to budget in order to be ready in time. They arrived on time, set up their workspace and were absolutely wonderful the entire time. I loved everything about my hair and makeup and I appreciated you walking my sister and I through the placement of the veil so that it wouldn't loosen the updo! Thank you so much!

From the beginning of the process Davina was amazing to work with. She is responsive , kind, and so talented! Davina, Emily, and Rachelle absolutely knocked it out of the park on my wedding day. They were able to get through 8 ladies and 2 flower girls in just a few hours with plenty of time to spare before pictures, and everyone looked stunning! They were on time and so much fun to be around on what can sometimes be a stressful day! I have naturally curly hair and was really hesitant to embrace the curls on my wedding day, as they can be unruly, but Davina made them look flawless, and I'm so happy she suggested going curly for the big day! I would recommend Pomp & Artistry in a heartbeat to anyone looking for wedding day hair & makeup!

I actually decided to book Pomp & Artistry pretty late into the wedding planning process. I had booked with a different vendor who went MIA, resulting in panic and scrambling on my end. Right away, Davina was clear, upfront, and professional about what it would be like to book with them and I'm SO happy I did. Davina and Emily were punctual and prepared. They were able to do hair and makeup for the whole bridal party and my MIL on site with time to spare. I wasn't able to schedule a trial because I don't live locally, but Davina was able to bring my vision to life based on pictures and good communication on the day of. I'd highly recommend working with Pomp and Artistry!

Davina and her team is literally the best ever! She helped make my hair and bridesmaids hair look absolutely perfect and my makeup stayed on all day. It was totally stress free. They listen to exactly what you want and are just great to work with!! Thanks ladies!!

These ladies came highly recommended to me by a close friend who used them for her wedding in 2015. I am so thankful for the reference because Davina and Emily made the morning of my wedding day so enjoyable. It's hard to know who to trust when you're planning an out of town wedding! My hairstyle turned out even better then the photo I showed them for reference and I think it might have looked even better than it did at my trial! My mother never wears makeup and she decided to do it on my wedding day. She felt so beautiful and Emily made her look polished but not too overdone and she even wore lashes! Thank for everything!

My experience with Pomp & Artistry was not good. From the beginning it was difficult to get answers to my emails. Only got answers when I followed up. On my first trial, my hair and fake eye lashes were falling apart within an hour. They scheduled a second trial, which I appreciate. They seemed to have a problem with how much hair I have and that was the reason my updo was not holding well, but I’ve had updo’s done before without issues. So I guess I’m sorry for having so much hair...? The day of the wedding, they left without putting my veil on. When I realized that, she told me if she puts the veil on right now, I won’t be able to put my dress on... she suggested my photographer could do it. I didn’t want anyone else trying to figure out how to do it so I asked her to come back and put the veil on. By the way, I had absolutely no issues putting the dress on with the veil, but it would’ve been nice if they asked me what I preferred, instead of leaving and then suggesting my photographer can do it. They also told me in a very firm way that they don’t work with wedding planners. When I told this to my wedding planner she was very surprised and said she has never heard of that. Yes, they are fun and full of joy, but that’s not going to get my hair stay in place for longer or my eyelashes to remain glued. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone!

These ladies were such a huge part of making my day so special. From the trial to the day, I loved working with Davina and Emily. They made everyone so comfortable, they did an amazing job with everyone's hair and make-up, and they made the atmosphere in the hotel room while getting ready fun and upbeat. These ladies are worth every penny and I am so glad I found them for my big day!

service was great, very responsive over email and easy to work with. my hair and makeup looked great. My hair did come loose after a few hours but we were able to pin it back up with no problems.

The girls from Pomp & Artistry were great! They arrived right on time and flew through 8 of us doing hair and makeup. I know that my bridesmaids all felt so great about their hair and makeup and they listened to the girls and made sure to get what they were looking for, they really brought out the individuality of each girl which was so refreshing! They brought my hair vision to life and also incorporated my half flower crown perfectly. My makeup needed a few additional touches, but in the end turned out to be exactly what I wanted ( I wear brighter lip color, so I had to use my own bright red since they didn't have much in the way of bright). Overall, I'm so happy with the way that everyone looked in pictures, they looked beautiful as always, very much themselves, with just a little bit more glam!

Davina was warm, friendly & honest, which I really appreciated throughout the hair & makeup process. I attended one of their bridal days, and this was such a fun & easy way to practice the up-do and makeup styles I was envisioning for the wedding day. I tend to wear very little makeup normally, so I was hesitant to wear fake lashes. However, with her guidance and encouragement, I tried them on for the trial day and ended up loving the result. This made the hair and makeup on the actual day go very smoothly. Also, Davina kindly & professionally suggested that I get ready at a nearby hotel rather than the side room located at our venue. This was such an important decision and ultimately made a huge, positive difference in the wedding morning. Based on her experience, she made a great suggestion, and I cannot thank her enough for this. Davina was prompt, organized & communicative, which made her so easy to work with throughout the planning process. If I could, I would choose her again to relive the morning of my wedding day thanks to her special care.

Davina and her team were totally amazing! They were so flexible and helped me work with some wedding week additions to our hair styling. Davina is so talented and has a vision for how to make hair styles work for you and Hannah, who did my hair, made it exactly how I wanted and it lasted all day. Even my fake eyelashes gave me no issues - stayed on all day without budging and came off at night when I was done with them! Thank you for making us look and feel flawless!

I cannot rave enough about what a fabulous and elegant job the team at Pomp and Artistry did for my wedding day. The staff are so wonderful to work with - they are friendly, fun, and truly understand what an elegant bridal look is. A bride should feel like herself but only more gorgeous on her wedding day and they did just that. The makeup was completely flawless and stayed the entire day and night. The hair was stunning and also stayed through dancing and pictures. Everyone in my party looked stunning and loved the services provided. I also loved that they come on-site as this helped make the day run smoothly and stress free. I cannot rave enough about how amazing this talented team is. Highly recommend working with them to feel truly beautiful on the biggest day of your life :)

The level of service (which was the perfect mix of fun yet professional) was exceptional from the ladies at Pomp & Artistry. From the original booking to the bridal hair and makeup trial to the day of, everything was perfect. Davina is great to communicate with leading up to the event and both Rochelle and Brooklyn made the wedding day beauty so fun and relaxing!

Davina was always kind and answered my calls or emails in a timely manner. On the day of my wedding she was on time and did an amazing job with our hair, and her makeup artist did a fantastic job with our makeup. The humidity was about 90% the day of my wedding, and it rained. Our hair and makeup stayed throughout the night. I would recommend Pomp & Artistry to anyone who is looking for on site hair and makeup the day of their wedding. We had 11 girls who had hair and makeup done :)

Davina made me feel so at ease. I’ve never felt so beautiful. I showed some pictures of ideas I had and the end result was basically identical. She’s perfection. A million thanks! Plus, my hair and makeup stayed fabulous even after tons of rain.

Davina and her team are amazing hair stylists!! They showed up early on the morning of my wedding day and worked very efficiently considering they had my bridal hair, 10 bridesmaids, 1 guest and 1 mom to complete within 4 hours - they even had time to spare at the end!! My bridesmaids picked a very similar hairstyle to the one I did at my trial. Davina understood that I wanted to stand out from the rest and suggested taking greenery from one of the girls bouquets to put in my hair. It was PERFECT! She truly made me feel special and beautiful that morning.

I was less than impressed with Pomp & Artistry. I scheduled a trial with Davina, she first had to reschedule because of a conflict and then was late for the actual appointment. I was extremely unhappy with my trial; I was told she could not do the type of style I initially wanted and my makeup was so light that it didn't look like I had any makeup on. I tried to be open minded and decided to stick with Davina for my big day (I understand things happen). The wedding day comes around and Davina is not there. Two other ladies were already at the venue ready to get started. Davina never told me what time they were going to show up or that she wouldn't be there. What was the point of doing a trial with her then? I'm so grateful for the two ladies who were there-they were patient and understanding and they are truly the only reason I am rating Pomp & Artistry with two stars. Prior to my wedding day, I emailed Davina to settle the outstanding balance. I never heard from her and then received an email from her on my honeymoon about needing to pay the final bill. The entire process (trial and day-of) was stressful and there could have been better communication and organization from Pomp & Artistry's side.

The ladies are so nice, fun and talented! Everyone's hair turned out so amazing! And my makeup stayed on flawless all day long (airbrush). Willing to work with you on timing and packages. Highly recommend!!

I was very happy with my experience with Davina for my wedding. I was the most nervous about hair and makeup, since I have a medical condition where I have to wear a wig and false eyelashes, but she never made me feel uncomfortable and was really reassuring through the process . I was a little skeptical on my wedding day when someone else showed up to do my hair, but I was overall happy with everything. Recommend!

Great team! I was pretty disappointed after my bridal trial so I went home and tried to understand the parts I didn’t like. After talking with Davina right before the big day I decided to give them another shot, day of. This time I had a better understanding of what my vision was and ended up LOVING my hair and make up! They nailed it. Cheers to working on the fly and good communication! The ladies were so sweet as well! A little pricey but I just hate spending money on this kind of stuff in general... worth it though!

The team from Pomp & Artistry was phenomenal. They recommend doing a trial run before the wedding, which I was impressed with. I had never had professionally had my makeup done before, and it had been many years since having my hair done for any sort of event. It left me feeling more relaxed on the wedding day, being confident that I would love my hair and makeup on the big day. I feel that I really got value for the job they did. I have never felt so beautiful! My hair looked better than any of the pictures I came in with! I felt that they gave me a style that was unique to me, and complimented my personality and my gown. I believe they are true artists, and the work that they do shows their passion for it. Very professional, yet put me at ease with fun conversation. The whole experience was very enjoyable.

I would highly recommend Pomp & Artistry! I used them for my wedding makeup and hair as well as my bridesmaids, mother and my mother-in-laws makeup and hair! They did such an amazing job and I could not be happier!

Honestly, I'm bummed to write this review because I was really excited to work with Pomp & Artistry after reading all of the glowing reviews but in the end I was very disappointed with the services provided. They did not follow the timeline I requested and ended 2 hours early in order to get to another job despite the fact that I expressed concerns about ending too early and had requested to start at a later time. I had also expressed some dissatisfaction with my makeup and asked for some slight changes and it was disheartening when the makeup artist was defensive and not supportive to help me achieve the look I wanted for my day. She made me feel bad and guilty for asking for simple changes because she was in a rush to leave. To top it all off I was hounded on my honeymoon in Italy for payment when I accidentally made a mistake on the check as I'm sure any bride could make on a crazy, hectic day. In the end, all of my girls looked great and I was fine - but not thrilled - with my makeup, but the customer service provided was less than satisfactory and was not what I expected on my special day.

Just got my wedding photos back and it doesn't even look like i'm wearing make up! I am so disappointed. From the beginning I had problems with this company. At the trial I didn't like my hair or makeup, so they had me do a second trial, which i liked much better. But during that process I was told that my expectations were too high and I was too demanding (if you knew me you would know thats far from the truth) But I stuck with them anyway and I should have known that was a huge red flag. I'll admit it was humid and the pictures were outside on my wedding day but we took them right away and thats why we pay for professional services instead of doing it ourselves, but at this point I wish I had done it myself, I would have done a better job... Now i look at my pictures and don't feel beautiful and wish I hadn't wasted hundreds of dollars using this company...

Davina and her hair and makeup team did a wonderful job for my hair and makeup along with my bridesmaids, mother and flower girl. It was a very fun and special experience having her come to us in the hotel to help us get ready. All were happy with how their airbrushing makeup and hairstyles turned out.

Pomp & artistry were just great to work with! They did mine, Mothers and the bridesmaids (total of 12 hair and makeup) in such a quick time period while doing an amazing job!! They use airbrush and it looked flawless on all the girls. I also did a trial a few months before, but davina suggested something slightly different on the day, and it was perfect! She really knows her hair and makeup! Reasonable price, great team :)

I used Pomp & Artistry for hair and makeup for my wedding. They did hair and makeup for all my bridesmaids as well as my mother's hair. They were so amazing! Everyone's hair and makeup looked great! We went to their location versus them coming to us and the salon was so cute! I felt that everything was reasonably priced compared to other places I was looking at. They also had airbrush makeup which was amazing - I didn't even feel like I had makeup on my face and it didn't come off even with sweating on the dance floor. They were very busy schedule wise so it was hard to schedule my trail since I live out of state and could only do my trial on a weekend. However, Davina worked with me in order to get a weekend date. I had a different person do my makeup trial and my day of makeup but they both did a great job. Davina did everyone's hair the day of and my hair for the trail. The only issue I had was responsiveness to emails. I would occasionally have to send emails twice because I wouldn't get a response after a week or two but other than that they were great! Would highly recommend!

Emily and Sara (I think? I'm so sorry!) were so awesome! They were super professional, easy to talk to and were able to understand what I wanted even when I didn't know what I wanted myself. Davina was very responsive to emails and great about answering all my questions! Would definitely recommend!!!

These girls went above and beyond the day of. I cannot believe how comfortable they made everyone feel! Not to mention everyone looked amazing!!

AMAZING!!!!!! There are not enough words to express how happy I was with my hair and makeup from Pomp and Artistry. Davina and Emily were phenomenal!!! All of my girls looked and felt beautiful. Davina was great to work with. She was prompt with all responses. Even with a small hiccup due to heating issues, she was still able to continue with our hair and makeup trial. Added bonus— the heat started working!!! Both Davina and Emily were on time and very professional the day of my wedding. We had a blast jamming to 80s music! I loved my wedding hair and makeup and can not highly recommend Pomp and Artistry enough!!

This team is AMAZING! They were on time and did all of our hair and makeup flawlessly! We got so many compliments. They had all 8 of us done in just a few hours. Davina was always so quick to respond to my questions and on my actual wedding day I ended up wanting something different than what I got at my trial and they recreated the photos I showed them perfectly. I want to start by saying that I looked absolutely amazing on my wedding day. I have never looked so beautiful and that was my goal! I need to offer some advice to future brides...trust the system! Pomp & Artistry knows their stuff. When you tell them how many people need services it may seem like a crazy number to you but it is nothing to them! We had a large group of ladies including my mother and mother in law and flower girl. We were all completed by 1:30 which was thirty minutes ahead of my scheduled pick up time! I was so nervous the day would start to run behind but it never happened. I've been in so many weddings where the bride was stressed and nothing seemed to go right. I ran through all of my details with Davina at my trial and on the wedding day she delivered more than just hair and makeup. She helped my relax and have a stress free morning with my best friends. I cannot say enough about this group of fun, talented artists! Thank you so much for making me feel like a queen!

Pomp & Artistry did such an amazing job for my friend's wedding in Tawas, Michigan. They came to us, and were extremely positive and patient as we had several people in and out throughout the day getting hair and makeup done. Everyone from bridesmaids to mothers, and of course the bride, looked exceptional and we were all very happy. Would HIGHLY recommend!

Pomp and Artistry did such an amazing job on the big day! They were so accommodating and flexible with the special circumstances of making sure that everything was gluten free for my mother-in-law who has celiac disease and is deathly allergic. Davina and her team are amazing! They are all very sweet and talented at what they do. On the wedding day, I had 6 bridesmaids, myself, and my mom all get their makeup done. They were on time getting to our hotel and were so efficient. Everyone looked looked flawless!

Pomp & Artistry did a wonderful job for my wedding!! I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup, and I felt so beautiful all day. The only reason I didn't do five stars was because I wanted Davina specifically and had my trial with her and was told it would be her there multiple times and I was a little thrown when it was two stylists I didn't know. But they were absolutely wonderful, so it ended up being more than fine :)

Emily & Davina were great with communicating prior to the event to make sure things ran smoothly, and I felt comfortable, which is huge when there are so many things to think about as a bride! Each of the stylists I met at my hair trial, as well as the four that came on my wedding day, were kind and warm and made everyone feel special and important! Davina did an AMAZING job with my wedding day hair and makeup and I cannot recommend her enough! Not only was she able to nail exactly the look I was going for, but she was also very reasonably priced and was one of the only artists in the area willing to do hair and makeup on a Sunday without charging crazy after-hours fees, which was a must for our budget. In addition to that, her fun and easy-going personality really helped me stay calm the morning of my wedding, and most importantly, she made me look and feel absolutely gorgeous. 10/10 would choose Pomp and Artistry for any hair and makeup needs in the future.

Davina and everyone that worked with us on the day of our wedding were amazing. Both my bridal portraits and the day of my wedding I felt absolutely beautiful and everything turned out wonderfully.

I was an out of state bride who more than anything wanted my bridesmaids and mom to enjoy the day and not feel like we had to drive and rush all over the place on my wedding day. With that being said, it was crucial to choose a hair&makeup vendor that was willing to travel. I found Pomp&Artistry via a recommendation from another mother-of-the bride that my mother in law is good friends with. She spoke so highly of this company and Davina that I immediately emailed Davina to schedule a phone chat. From the beginning, Davina was super quick in getting back to me, was so personable and lovely on the phone and I immediately felt like she understood what I desired for my wedding day and what my vision was. I was thrilled that her team was available for our date and booked right over the phone. My hair and make up trial was so easy and enjoyable because Emily and Davina took care of absolutely everything. I am not a high maintenance girl by any means but you know when some hair dressers don't listen to absolutely anything you want and you come out going "this is NOT what I wanted or I don't feel pretty or myself at all." yeah...that didn't happen with Davina and Emily. I felt cared for, listened to and my hair and make up was absolutely everything I wanted and more (on my trial day and my wedding day). My wedding day was stress free and Davina and Emily and the rest of the team fit right in with my bridesmaids and made the day so enjoyable. I had 8 bridesmaids get their hair done as well as my mom and 4 of us get our make up done. They were so efficient with time, we were done 1 hour ahead of schedule. Everything when flawlessly and smoothly. Even as Emily (pomp&artistry's incredible make up artist) was packing up my mom started to cry reading a letter I wrote her and Emily immediately rushed her back into the make up chair to touch up (set everything back up). I am very very grateful for Pomp&Artistry and would highly recommend this vendor to any bride. thank you so much Davina! you are wonderful!

I am so happy I chose Pomp & Artistry to do the hair for my wedding! After having a bad hair trial with someone else I contacted the owner, Davina, and she put me at ease. She really listened to exactly what I wanted! She even dealt with my mother who is extremely difficult to please. All the girls loved their hair! And my hair lasted all night! She's also super reasonably priced which is a huge bonus.

I got married on May 20th. We wanted to be ready by 3. They told me if we started at 11 it we would be done around then. The two girls that were sent were done around 1. Unfortunately my hair was falling out by 3. I wasn't doing jumping jacks.. just sitting in my room waiting to get ready. It wasn't just my hair.. all the girls up dos were falling out. It's almost like the straight pins were not secure and p0pong out. With the amount that we paid at 78$ a girl I was extremely disappointed.

I can't get over how amazing Davina (both as an all around sweet and awesome human being and her crazy amount of talent) and her team are. As soon as I met her, she asked all the right questions and proceeded to immediately nail both hair and make-up. She and her team know EXACTLY how to make you the prettiest version of yourself - not overdone, perfect for pictures, and make you feel like you're hanging out with old friends in the process. I can't tell you how thankful I am how gorgeous you made my bridemaids and family - not only did they look beautiful, but they truly felt it :) Thank you for going the extra mile. Davina and team are AMAZING! First- Davina stayed on the phone with me for over an hour while I was lost for my hair trial. They are extremely good at what they do. They showed up on time and we were ahead of schedule. And brides- TRUST THEM. I don't wear make up often, so seeing myself done up is a shock. But the makeup looked amazing and lasted all days and the pictures are better because of it! Thank you Pomp and Artistry!!

Showed up 1 hour after original time. Davinia didn't answer emails the day before confirming or she didn't answer the phone calls day of as I was worried after 30 mins as she was late... just added more stress to my morning then needed.

It was wonderful working with Davina leading up to and on the day of our wedding. She was able to accommodate getting myself, my four bridesmaids, and my mother ready and beautiful in a short time frame and was extremely personable and pleasant throughout the day. I can't recommend Pomp & Artistry enough!

I worked with Pomp and Artistry for my wedding on October 14, 2016. They were very nice to work with and flexible with me about the location and times. My hair and makeup was beautiful and they even provided me with an emergency kit incase i needed it. Espcially in the Grand Rapids area, this service can get expensive but I felt that they were very reasonable comparitive to the other people in the area! They were also very professional, but still fun and relaxing. Stayed within our timeframe needed and was even done a bit early!

This place was amazing! They met us at a hotel in Kalamazoo and got everyone looking gorgeous for the wedding. My hair and makeup stayed perfect all night which I was worried about. We were done by 1 and it still looked great after midnight with only lip gloss needing touch ups, which is expected. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing hair and makeup. This is actually the second wedding that I have had Pomp & Artistry do my hair/make up for (first my friend's two years ago, and now mine!) and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. Davina was wonderful to work with and really helpful in helping me plan my big day look! Great value for full airbrush make up & up dos for my bridal party AND they came onsite to do all of it (which is GREAT because then you don't need to worry about wind/weather messing up they're work and it's far more relaxing). My make up was perfect and I couldn't believe how much hair they made me look like I had (I have long hair, but it's super fine/thin)... a couple of people actually asked me if I had extensions lol! 5 STARS!

Davina came to my wedding location on my special day just to do my hair and makeup (I didn't have any attendants or anyone else that required hair and makeup). That says a lot right there that she was willing to make the trip just for one person! She was so personable and listened to my ideas and how I wanted to look on my wedding day. I felt like I had been her friend for a long time and we had just met! I was so pleased with how everything turned out. Davina did an amazing job and I couldn't have asked for better service or better accommodations! Thanks again!!
