h of elegance. The exposed brick walls, copper bar, and large windows surrounding the lush little courtyard made the space feel both cozy and absolutely stunning. It truly felt like a hidden gem in the heart of the city.
From the moment we reached out, the team at Poogan’s was amazing to work with. Zoe, the sales manager, was our main point of contact and she was wonderful—responsive, helpful, and always made us feel confident and taken care of throughout the planning process. On the day of, Emily stepped in as the venue coordinator and she was just as fantastic, making sure everything ran smoothly so we could fully enjoy the day.
And the food! So many of our guests (and vendors!) told us it was the best food they’d ever had at a wedding—and we couldn’t agree more. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.
If you’re considering Poogan’s Courtyard for your wedding or any private event, do it. We can’t recommend it highly enough. It was everything we dreamed of and more!

o finish! Zoe was so helpful and responsive with the planning and our every request was met. They were flexible on the menu and bar selections and really let us make it what we wanted! We had a buffet dinner of salmon and fried chicken for our guests which were both so yummy, but the famous biscuits were the hit! We had appetizers and an indoor and outdoor bar so enough food and drinks for everyone. The space is so beautiful and our guests were having the best time - we had to get kicked out at the end of the night! 10/10 recommend using Poogans Courtyard for your private event.

nd was very helpful in answering any questions, timeline dates and so forth. I had planned this all from a suburb outside of Philadelphia, PA. From each vendor to most importantly the venue and it turned out perfectly. The staff was very attentive, helpful and extremely accommodating. From the bartenders to the servers, the service was wonderful. The space is so beautiful and although I had my own decor I wanted to have set up, you do not need much! On to the food.... unbelievable! For our cocktail hour we went with the mini crab cakes, fried green tomatoes, chicken and waffles and the pimento cheese fritters. We decided for dinner to do the Southern Delights option. This was a destination wedding for us, so we wanted our guests to have as many options as possible. The crab cakes, filet and chicken and gnocchi were all a hit. We had the seasonal grilled fruit salad to start and their homemade biscuits. Dinner also included pecan pie as a dessert, and I swear there were no complaints, and everyone raved! Poogan's Courtyard is in one of the best locations in Charleston... you will not regret choosing them, I promise!

When visiting Charleston, we always eat at Poogan's (our favorite BBQ spot!), so we were excited to be able to share this delicious food with our family and friends! Sarah was our Coordinator. She always responded very quickly! She took extra pictures of the venue for us since we are from out of town and were unable to visit in person until the day of. I had full confidence in Sarah to execute our perfect rehearsal dinner. This is an absolutely beautiful venue for a Rehearsal Dinner, a wedding or any type of party. You won't be disappointed! And of course, my friends and family RAVED over the food and bar!
