My husband and I were blown away by Popolo Catering and their incredible service and team. Everyone we interacted with at Popolo was extremely kind and helpful, and the food was amazing! Chef Michael and the staff that worked our wedding did a phenomenal job and provided outstanding service to us and our guests. Our guests had nothing but good things to say about the Popolo team and the food. We highly recommend Popolo!! Thank you for Popolo for being part of our big day!

The team at Popolo are so kind and the food turned out SO much better than we even thought it would be! They created a custom appetizer for us - personal charcuterie cones so guests didn’t have to share on a grazing table - as part of our 4 appetizer offering at cocktail hour. The owner was our event manager and the genuine sincerity she had for us made my heart melt! It was slightly chaotic getting everything organized with rentals and tastings, but that was probably because we had a shorter timeline than most. The only reason I’m docking a star is that we had coordinated that my *now husband* and I would get all of our appetizers saved from cocktail hour and delivered to us with dinner, so we declined all of the passed appies at cocktail hour, but then we didn’t actually get any appetizers with dinner and I was SO looking forward to having them since you can’t try appies at your tasting trial. Other than that, everything went off without a hitch and our guests LOVED our bartenders! I’ll admit, I never got to even see our bartenders since people kept bringing me drinks, but I heard awesome things!

Popolo is definitely your go to caterers. They are such a great team to work with. They truly care about their customers. They go above and beyond to help on your special day. Our guests absolutely loved the food and kept raving about it afterwards. We could not be more grateful for their hard work throughout our whole day.

Popolo was my favorite vendor and the best choice we could have made for our big day. Not only are they at such a reasonable price point that it almost sounds made up.... but the food quality and service is one you would get with only the highest-end caterers. It's been a month since we've been married and everyone talks about how great the food was! Popolo was so responsive and helpful throughout the whole process and made it very easy on us. I loved them so much that they catered our rehearsal dinner, lunch the day of, the reception, and the morning brunch! I seriously cannot say enough good things about them!

Honestly the best! We had to switch caterers when we had to reschedule our wedding because of COVID, and we went with Popolo. They are pretty inexpensive and have some of the best food we have ever had. The Mushroom Marsala Lasagna is actually to die for, and I've had guests texting me about it for weeks. We did BBQ chicken, marsala lasagna, brussels sprouts, potatoes, salad and focaccia bread. I had some serious food allergies/preferences and they were able to meet them all without any problems. We had vegans & vegetarians; shellfish & dairy allergies, and a very serious case of celiacs disease. Everyone was very well fed and I was very confident that their would be no problems. Leon, Kat, & Tasha were awesome to work with and were so enthusiastic and supportive the whole time. Love them!

Popolo was amazing!!! Their food was phenomenal and their service was exceptional. We went with pasta for ours and the mushroom ravioli was absolutely fantastic (my wife hates mushrooms and even she liked them) and the chicken pesto was fantastic too. We had a great time meeting with them before, and throughout the process they were extremely helpful. They ran the event smoothly and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. The next time we're in Paso we'll be stopping by to get lunch with them.

Popolo and every single member of its staff is amazing! We hired them for both catering and bartending and we're so glad we did. The first time I reached out by phone, Kat (a co-owner) answered and spent more than 1 hour on the phone with me to go through a consultation before I had even paid a deposit. Throughout the entire planning process, Popolo was incredibly professional, responsive, and graceful in managing the headache of a postponement and all COVID-19 restrictions. They really made our job easy and made sure all of the details were taken care of so that we could enjoy our day (Danette was our main POC and she was incredible!). Not to mention - the food was DELICIOUS. Some of the best tri-tip I've ever tasted, and our wedding guests agreed! Every single one of Popolo's servers and bartenders were so friendly, professional, and efficient, and our wedding guests continue to compliment the service they received from our caterer and rave about the menu! Everything was so perfect, and we really can't thank Popolo, Kat and Leon enough for their amazing service!

We hired Popolo to cater our wedding and I don’t think we could have picked anyone better! We did a tasting with them and the food was amazing, not to mention they have so many options and it’s super affordable compared to other caterers in the area. We booked them on the spot and also got our silverware, plates, drinkware, tablecloths, bartenders, drink station, and more from them. We got married during covid and they we’re super informative and communicative leading up to the wedding. Their staff is trained to handle food service specifically during the pandemic and they used all of the necessary precautions to make our guests feel safe. I think we were most impressed about their timing and ability to be on schedule. I have been to several weddings where we just waited around forever waiting for food to be served and Popolo immediately had appetizers out after the ceremony and started dinner service 20 minutes early. We got tons of compliments about the quality of the food, and they even put aside plates for my husband and I and put them in the fridge inside the house just incase we didn’t get to eat our dinner (which we didn’t!) It was nice to be able to have a yummy meal to eat after the wedding was over. They were so great that my aunt actually booked them for Thanksgiving with our extended family as well. I would definitely hire them again!

Popolo is amazing! Food at a wedding is so important and can totally make or break an evening. Popolo did a phenomenal job on the food - all of our guests loved the meal and went back for more! Their prices are so reasonable with no hidden costs- it is all online for you to see! Their staff are extremely professional and did a wonderful job serving and bartending. They answered all of my questions promptly and were very upfront and honest about everything. They made the entire process stress-free and easy. I would highly recommend using Popolo for your event!

It was a really, really hot day, and the Popolo team absolutely killed it! They were team players. We made a few day of changes, and they were very accommodating to those changes. We have another event with them this year, and we are really looking forward to working with them again.

Everything was perfect. Their whole crew was awesome from the moment we booked them. They were supportive and kept in contact then entire way to ensure that we had everything we needed. The day of our wedding went so smoothly and they created such a personal feeling that it was better than what we could have ever asked.

Popolo was absolutely amazing. our wedding day would not have gone as smoothly as it did without them!! the whole team is incredibly hard working, responsive, and professional. they went above and beyond (from moving chairs from the ceremony site to the reception, lighting candles i forgot to even mention, picking up tablecloths early, and endless advice) to make sure our day was flawless! wouldn’t change a thing, thank you Popolo!!!!

Popolo Catering provided fantastic service! Our guests all had wonderful things to say about all of the food they provided. Before the wedding, Monica and Taylor at Popolo we’re very responsive and such a joy to work with. I would highly recommend!

Popolo catering was amazing! Both owners felt like family and I even caught them dancing on the dance floor once our band came out during our wedding. They were easy to book, our tasting was a blast and they treated us like family the entire time. Their whole staff was professional and when we needed something, they jumped to make sure it was taken care of. Their prices will fit in your budget and youll get such an amazing support system for your wedding day.

Food and staff were amazing!! Very professional and on point

They did great! The pesto pasta, roasted red potatoes, and grilled asparagus was so tasty! They even brought us and additional 10 servings which was great because we did buffet style and guests were a little over generous with their portions! Great deal for the price.

Monica and Leon were amazing. They were such a blast to work with and made our day go very smoothly. The food also turned out well and they even catered our rehearsal dinner with a taco bar which was a big hit with our friends and family. I loved that they've worked at our venue before and that they knew how the day would play out. They were also great at helping us book/order anything we needed and made recommendations for anything they couldn't do. It was a pleasure working with them. I can't thank them enough.

Leon & his wife ARE AMAZING!! We loved working with them. They literally SAVED OUR WEDDING DAY! The other reviews were spot on - EXCELLENT FOOD & CUSTOMER SERVICE (which are 2 extremely important parts of any party / wedding). Leon & his staff are such sweet hearts & they all know the ins and outs of all wedding preparation. Communication was a breeze and they always responded promptly. When I had some major problems with my venue (Pear Valley Vineyard in Paso Robles), Leon and his team stepped up to the plate and went out of their way to make sure everything still went according to plan. They went ABOVE AND BEYOND anything I could have ever dreamed of having in a catering staff. They are both PROFESSIONAL, KIND, CONSIDERATE, AFFORDABLE & TALENTED! Look no further, BOOK THEM NOW!! There isn't a better team or better value out there (WITH RENTALS, STAFF, FOOD W/PASSED APPS ETC = $30-35 PP (CRAZY GOOD FOR EVERYTHING YOU GET PLUS A+++++ SERVICE!!)

Popolo's did an amazing job before, during, and after the wedding. Leon was helpful during the process of choosing food and getting the numbers in. I even had a few extra family members RSVP (ugh) a few days before the wedding and Leon was able to accommodate our last minute add-ons. His staff was incredibly helpful the day of my wedding. For example, my husband and I were on our way to take photographs after the ceremony and Leon's staff handed us a platter of all the samplers so that we didn't have to wait for food! This really made my day as I was super hungry! Overall great caterers! I would use them again!

Popolo's service and attention to detail along with the great food combination is like no other. Without a Wedding coordinator to consult and advise us, Leon Castillo and his staff were more than helpful in assisting us in the right direction. My bride and myself were overwhelmed by the whole ceremony. During the cake cutting we forgot our knife. Without hesitation, Leon Castillo,(Johnny on the spot) came to the rescue with a knife. I am so glad we chose Popolo as our caterer for our Wedding. The whole evening went so smoothly. The guests raved about the food saying "Best Wedding Food Ever"!! The food tasted like a $35-$40 plate but only cost $19 a person!! What a deal!! Tri Tip and Chicken were delicious, I LOVED the sautéed vegetables, yummy salad, and oh my the cheesy potatoes! I love popolo's !! FYI you also get to pick 2 appetizers. Do yourself a favor, call for a complimentary tasting and lick your plate clean =) Enjoy!!

I really enjoyed working with Popolos. They were very helpful and they made great food. I loved all the food I tasted for our tasting. They were also very helpful in setting up on the day of the wedding. However, I was disappointed in the food on the day of. Most of it was good, but the salmon was dry and the meat was cold by the time I got it on my plate. They blamed the photographer for taking too long on pictures (even though she was finished exactly when the time line said she needed to be). I did not appreciate them trying to blame someone else because they messed up. I also did not like that the food was not as great as anticipated especially for such a small wedding. Although I did like Popolos, I was slightly disappointed.

The caterer and his staff did a great job! We had them cater our meal, appetizers, beverage station, cake cutting, all reception set up and clean up. Everyone really enjoyed their food and they did an exceptional job at set up and clean up, way above my expectations on that part. My only complaint is that one of the staff member made some very inapproriate conversation with a guest that they knew and this caused an argument.

Leon at Popolo was more then happy to provide an excellent spread at our wedding. His staff was courteous and punctual, and the guests were all pleased with the hors d'oeuvres (bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms and caprese sticks), as well as the entrées (rotisserie chicken, tri-tip, grilled vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, salad with rosemary vinaigrette). He was also receptive to concocting some unique lemonades (regular, mint, and strawberry). When our head count decreased, he adjusted the menu and refunded us the balance (which was really helpful and flexible). He was also happy to meet us at the venue to go over set up logistics. Overall, his prices were extremely reasonable and his customer service skills noted.

As a wedding planner, I know quality, taste, cost and overall presentation. Popolo's is an amazing deal/steal for your wedding or private event. Old fashioned hospitality and care went into their experience with us. The food was amazing despite my challenging family style event and they nailed it. From the Churros, Abuelitos Hot Chocolate, Truffle Popcorn, amazing entrees and constant compliments... Popolo's wins my heart. Thanks Leon!

Great food and attention to details!

We met the owned in November and had a tasting with him. The food was AMAZING! I couldn't stop raving about it! The day of the wedding though, the food wasn't exactly the same. The tri-tip and chicken were very good but the bread and salad which we had fallen in love with at the tasting weren't even close to what we were expecting. We had asked for the salad to have the nuts and cheese on the side due to allergies. They were all mixed in and the dressing was pre mixed! It was 100 degrees that day and by the time it was served, it was very wilted. Lastly, we had at least 15 people not show up who we had paid for and we were not given the opportunity to save the leftovers. We were told later by the owner that people had come up for seconds and third and that is why there were no leftovers. I was informed later that one of our venues employees had to hurry to get to-go boxes for us to eat leftovers later (because we were staying at our venue) because they were packing them all away. There was obviously food left and since we had paid for the food, we should have been allowed to keep it!

Popolo Catering catered our rehearsal and wedding on Sept 22. Leon and his crew went above and beyond to make our reception amazing and stress free. Food was fantastic and his staff were very easy to work with and very detailed oriented. Leon was very helpful, professional and was always there if I had any questions. If your looking for a great Caterer then look no further.

Leon and Kathleen (the owners of Popolo's) are great to work with. They not only are caterers, but they work just like event coordinators and are helpful throughout the wedding process. They are professional yet down to earth and provide great advise and creative ideas for the wedding. They are also great counselors and advisors, so when we were not sure of certain things or just needed to vent they were available and made arrangements to meet with us last minute. Their food is AMAZING and DELICIOUS. Our guests loved the food and went back for seconds and thirds. Highly recommended and would hire them again for any other occassions.
