Poppies and Peonies offers wedding planning/coordinating and floral design in upstate South Carolina and the surrounding areas. Our work also takes us to the North Carolina mountains, north Georgia, and the lower parts of South Carolina. (And we love an adventure, so travel is welcome!) We delight in serving couples by removing the sometimes burdensome planning process (which we actually enjoy!). We also love the hospitality, caring for people, and problem-solving aspects of wedding coordinating. And a hallmark of our business is natural and artful floral design, which was actually our very first business offering and the component that we have used to grow us toward event planning and coordinating. Bringing beauty and joy to your event is our great pleasure, and we offer complete floral services, from enchanting bridal bouquets to lavish installations.
We have amazing teams in place for each of our different offerings. Whether serving in planning, coordinating, or floral design, each team member brings joy and beauty to their work. They join us in our efforts because of their love for and enjoyment of what we do, and it shows in the finished product of your very special wedding day. Our reviews speak to the love that we bring to serving our clients, and, thankfully, we are known for our attention to detail and careful guiding of each event, as well as our attentive care for the wedding couple and family throughout the process.
In our floral design, we take great joy in giving careful attention to the design process and to each detail of the finished product. We work creatively with you to maximize the use of your budget and to repurpose floral items from ceremony to reception. We believe that approach to be a crucial part of being good stewards not only of your budget, but also of the beauty of floral creations. When able, we use locally sourced, seasonal flowers and natural elements that enhance the floral beauty. We also strive to give each flower its spot in the design, working with loose and flowing approaches when appropriate to the bride's vision.

For coordination - I admit, I was hesitant to spend the money for coordination… I really thought I could save money and do it all myself or use family to help. However, I was very wrong! The coordination meetings I had leading up to the wedding were so valuable, because I had their guidance and reminders of little details and things that I would have never thought of on my own. The day of the wedding was where I really saw Poppies and Peonies shine: they took charge, took most of the stress from me and my mom, and solved problems so we didn’t have to. As a bride who got overwhelmed and a bit teary in the middle of the day- Whitney’s team came to my aid and helped me calm down and focus on what mattered. They’re calming, peaceful presence as well as their directness and decision-making were worth every penny and more! I am so grateful to have worked with them and would highly recommend them!
