We could not have been happier with the catering at our beach wedding reception! The taco bar was a huge hit with our guests — everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully set ...
up. The variety of toppings and options made it fun and perfect for a relaxed beach vibe.
The full bar service was equally amazing. Drinks were great, the bartenders were friendly and efficient, and everything ran so smoothly all night long. Even with a beach setting, the team stayed organized, professional, and kept everyone happy.
Our guests are still talking about how delicious the food and drinks were. If you want catering that is fun, stress-free, and perfect for a beach wedding, we highly recommend them!
Food was delicious - everyone raved about it!! Great service!
Portobello catered my wedding in April ‘23. Below was my experience. Although a very minimal refund was received- not a single apology for the disaster. Below are a few facts:
1....
1.5 hrs late. Arrived at beach house venue with the guests. Hauling food up the stairs at same time. Complete chaos
2. “Chef” admitted to being overwhelmed due to lateness. Many offers from guests to help (restaurant owners themselves) but declined
3. “Chef” extremely rude to bride and guests. Not a single smile all evening. Many many guests commented on her attitude.
4. Hot passed appetizers served cold. Forgot to cook in oven. Inedible
5 Wrong skewers served as appetizers. Chicken rather than beef ordered. Chef rude when advised of mistake.
6. Six bottles of Wrong champagne e opened for toast. Told bride they would just “record” it for following days brunch
7. Only 1/2 of guests were actually served champagne for toast. Asked for servers to have trays w glasses ready and poured for toast post. Ceremony
8. Bar ran out of mixers. Bartender told guests he thought it was only wine and beer ???
9. Food buffet had zero presentation and no food signs as promised. Prime rib slipped into a dish crammed into table along with everything else jammed onto two 6 ft tables as requested.
10. Open Kitchen at beach house looked like a disaster the entire wedding. No clean as you go. Cutting prime rib on counter in front of all guests. Servers unable to pick up guests plates and glasses as used. Elderly parents shuttling dishes to the kitchen all night.
11. Cake cutting services paid for- however chef did not know how to cut a wedding cake and guests had to demonstrate and assist.
12. Box for top of wedding cake left by cake maker thrown away by caterer
13 bartender left outside bar complete mess with cut fruit strewn all over and empty bottles scattered all over bar
14. Crew left without any word to bride groom or anyone else.
Additionally- food totally lacking in taste and quality. Truly shocked at entire service and would never recommend for even a Saturday football party. Much less an elegant wedding in Pensacola beach at such a gorgeous venue.
Chef Erika's food was phenomenal. Everything was fresh and apart from a few minor details with the presentation on wedding day, we had a great experience. I couldn't believe how sh...
e let me fully customize our menu, offering 3 unique foods, while all staying in our budget. She was also very helpful in providing bartenders and alcohol packages for wedding day too. I was also shocked at how cost efficient these services were too! We provided seltzers as one of the alcoholic beverages and she was even detailed enough to get the flavors that I said were my favorite. I highly recommend her services. Her response times might be slower because she is truly a one woman show but the food is amazing!
Chef Erika was wonderful to work with. For my daughter's wedding reception we had happy hour with pass around appetizers plus a full meal. Everything was delicious! Our guests br...
agged on everything especially the fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, mashed potatoes and, of course, the prime rib. I thought the price was very reasonable. Very pleased with Portabello Market

ths after our wedding! She was easy to work with, helped us meet our budget, and was very friendly!
Pros:
- Food was amazing. We ordered a taco bar and we had so many guests come up to us and tell us how incredible it was.
- Personalized our package. The owners threw in a lot of...
items and offerings that I would not have expected. When we met for our tasting we got a chance to talk about anything else that we would like with our package. Many of the extras were thrown in free of charge. When I mentioned that my wife wanted brownies they put together three different types which our guests thoroughly enjoyed.
- Independent. If you are looking for a caterer to get your information and do all of the work for you, this is them. Personally I would have preferred a bit more correspondence but I could definitely see this being a plus for many couples.
- Good price. For the quality of food that we received, we did not overpay. In fact, we looked at getting catering from a very casual chain and PM was way less expensive and offered food that was much higher quality.
Cons:
- Communication was not great. I often found myself emailing the owners and asking questions that would go unanswered for up to a week at a time. When I did receive an answer it was usually "We'll worry about that when your wedding is closer" even if I wanted to worry about it at the time. The day of the wedding we did not hear anything from them at all and simply had to trust that they were doing their jobs. They were doing their jobs, by the way. It just would have been nice to know it.
Ryan and his team were the perfect pick for our wedding. We had a taco bar, and everything was phenomenal! All of our guests raved about the tacos and sides. Also, the staff was fr...
iendly and engaging. Ryan gave us insight to his favorite pairings of tacos/toppings, and his picks were out of this world (and that's saying something because my husband and I are taco fiends). We couldn't have asked for a better crew.
Chef Erika and her team at Portabello Market did an excellent job of catering. The food was amazing, especially the roast beef, and the servers were very professional and attentive...
. I would recommend Portabello to anyone that needs a wedding caterer or if anyone wants a good lunch in downtown Pensacola!
Ryan and Erika provided an amazing buffet for our wedding. They were very easy to work with from the very beginning with us trying to pick a menu. They had a lot to choose from and...
said they would work with us if we had something in mind that was not on the menu. We were able to rent some plates and glasses from them the last minute which was super helpful. All of our guests said the food was great. Erika recommended the perfect amount of food for our budget as we had just enough, just a few left overs. We would definitely use these guys again!
A big thanks to Chef Erika and her staff for an amazing dinner at our wedding! Everyone raved about the food and service! We couldn't have imagined it any better. THANK YOU!
I was an out of state bride and was not able to go to Florida before the wedding to do any tasting. I searched for restaurants that had good seafood and came across Protabella Mark...
et. Being out of state I looked for vendors who responded to emails quickly and Portabella Market did this. I told them what I wanted and what my budget was. They emailed me a menu within my budget and with food I wanted. I was still nervous about how the food would taste even though I had read reviews on Portabella Market. In the end everything went fantastic! The servers were extremely friendly and the food was delicious.
I was very dissapointed in the food they served at the wedding. My husband and I are huge foodies so we were very excited when we put together the menu. The food was blan and they ...
barely placed any out on the buffet line. We also had a pasta station added to the menu. To my surprise they placed the cooking station right in the middle of the buffet line which caused a huge back-up and it took people forever to get through line.
I had also asked for water glasses to be added to the tables and that was even done.
If I could do it all over again, I would go with another vendor.
Ryan and Erika were so nice and helpful, they took time to help me figure out the best menu and pricing for my wedding. The Service was wonderful, and friendly. The owners themse...
lves were there making sure everything was running smoothly.
There was plenty of room for all my guest and the people who worked it was very good. And the food was excellent.
