Hello! I am Shanyn Kiesler, owner and lead creative behind Portola Wedding Films. While creating wedding films my goal is to merge fine art with a flare of fun. Each film is created around the couple and how their day unfolded. Nothing is cookie cutter. I am very observant and diligently capture all the little details that went into making your day what it was. One of my favorite parts of wedding cinematography is being able to witness all the candid moments and interactions that occur during a wedding. I refer this as capturing the moments between the moments because, while all the big events are so important and I'm sure to capture those (walking down the aisle, first kiss, first dance) it's the little moment in between (the groom wiping a tear from a brides cheek, a look exchanged between mother and son, the sweet words the father of the bride whispers during their first look) that really tell the story of the two of you and how this wedding came to be. I believe that while there is a time and place in a wedding day for directed moments, the core of each film is based on how the day unfolded, so you are transported back to your wedding every time you watch your wedding film. This is probably the only time this exact group of family and friends will be gathered in one place. It is so important to have a professional team of photographers and videographers there to make sure everything is documented. I have been a bride myself so I know how much you have poured yourself into this day. This is the culmination of months (maybe even years) of dreams, stress, tears, joy, and you should be able to fully enjoy it. You will probably be shocked at how little you actually remember from your wedding day. It is truly such a whirlwind of emotions, it's hard to take it all in. The biggest gift you can give yourself on your wedding day is a team to make sure it is properly documented. after the flowers have wilted and the last sparkler has burnt out, all you will have from the day is the memory. You will never regret having a beautiful film to watch and re-live this day that you put so much effort into planning. I offer range of offerings for Maui/Hawaiian Island weddings. Outside of Hawaii all packages include multi-day coverage, 2 cinematographers, and no travel fee.
