My husband and I recently had our wedding reception here. We had a traditional wedding mass at our Catholic church, but we decided early on in our engagement that we wanted a low-key but still classy dinner afterwards. We learned about Positano... on this site and made a couple visits last year (first to scope out the venue and then for a tasting). We fell in love with the venue immediately. Nice location in Old City Philadelphia, beautiful decor, lots of natural light coming in through all the windows. At our tasting, we loved the flavor of all the dishes we tried, and were stuffed by the end of it. We booked the Meridiana room for the reception so we could fit everyone (about 60 people in all) comfortably. I was a little concerned during the planning process that something might go wrong, being that there wasn't just one point-person for our event, and we handled the details with 3 different managers over time; however, Positano executed our reception to absolute perfection, and my husband and I are extremely happy with how it all turned out. The week before the wedding, I contacted them one last time, to send them pics of how I wanted the room set up, along with our centerpieces and other odds and ends (as I didn't have anyone to do that for me on the day of the wedding), and Positano nailed all the details exactly as I had envisioned. I had several family members tell me later how lovely everything looked. The restaurant was very accommodating when some of our guests showed up a little early before our reception was scheduled to start. Dinner service was smooth, the food was again delicious, and we are very satisfied with the overall experience! Many of our guests told me afterwards that they had a great time. If you are looking for an alternative to a banquet or other large-scale wedding reception, consider Positano! We love it!
