Postlewait's Country Weddings

tlewait’s has the BEST venue director Jacque and she worked so hard to make our day perfect, even under the circumstances. She was always responsive, accommodating, and had great recommendations throughout the entire process. We had a small ceremony/reception in 2020 outside and it was absolutely beautiful thanks to Jacque. We loved the venue so much that we decided to do a larger reception there in September 2021. We held the reception in the barn, which was so incredible with all of the chandeliers. Plus, we could still see the amazing views of the grounds through the sliding doors, which we eventually opened once the weather cooperated later in the night. I still cannot get over how stunning this place is, both outside and in the barn. I can’t recommend Postlewait’s and the staff enough!

e supplied most of our own vases we wanted used, they coordinated and built the flowers inside! I also asked if they could save a few to put on our cake when it showed up for the reception. They not only saved a few, but arranged them on the cake. The venue was perfectly arranged for our ceremony, reception, and dancing! The venue coordinator cared so much about my dream of a log wall with candles lit she built it herself! I think I still owe her a manicure for it ;) Needless to say, whatever they can do for you, they will!!!!!! 20/10 would absolutely repeat my wedding day at this location!!!

The barn was the whole reason we booked the venue at at only 2 months out we cannot reschedule all of our other vendors or secure another venue due to the increase of weddings after Covid. Postlewaits did not care at all about our disappointment and will not do anything to make up for the issues caused. Their lack of communication in the matter and utter disregard for their couples is horrible. Do not book your wedding here if you want the same venue you signed the contract for or want someone who will communicate any major changes.

lute dream and Jacqueline is such a sweetheart. She is so helpful and responsive. If you are looking for an outdoor, farm-style, barn wedding with beautiful Oregon views then look no further. I was pleased with all the outdoor locations that were available for our ceremony. We had originally planned to have our reception inside the barn, but Jacqueline informed us that it would be nicer to have it outdoors with more air flow since it was supposed to be warm that day. I greatly appreciate her reaching out to me about the heat! My guests were very pleased with the outdoor reception since it was in the shade. I could go on and on about the venue, but I just recommend that you visit it for yourself. The grounds are wonderful and the family is even better.

The outdoor space is large and offers multiple areas for a ceremony, giving the opportunity for us to have our ceremony, cocktail hour, dancing, and photos all outside in different areas! The space offers amazing views of Mt. Hood on good weather days, which our out-of-town guests also loved. The venue also had two separate getting ready areas, which made things very convenient the day of the wedding. We got ready, had hair and makeup services, and took getting ready photos there. The getting ready rooms were large and perfect for our wedding party to come and get ready / relax before the wedding. Working with the venue was extremely easy – we worked with Jacqueline and always had extremely prompt and organized responses when planning, and as such had no surprises on the day off. The venue allowed us to bring in outside catering and bring our own alcohol, which was perfect for us, as we had a specific vision of what food we wanted and wanted to keep costs down for alcohol. Allowing us to bring our own alcohol brought out total alcohol costs down significantly, a fraction of what most venues were asking for. The only thing to be aware of is that the venue is in a remote location (45 minutes from PDX) so we arranged shuttle buses for guests at the end of the night so there wasn’t a rush for Ubers, but this was limited in it’s impact and actually made the ending of the night more fun as it gave us more time to spend together! Postlewaits also offers a large rental inventory selection which made things very easy for us, to just work with one contact. We rented tables (round and rectangular farm tables), all linens, plates and flatware (they offer very cool mismatched vintage plates as an option, which added a nice touch), and all drinkware. When we spoke with our guests, they all felt the venue was a beautiful, fantastic space for the wedding day and nothing but positive things to say! We would unabashedly recommend Postlewaits!

ly need to bring in extra lighting. The groom's party room is pretty small and plain. They can provide you with an affordable bartender (and they are now a winery so they can supply wine, too!). My wedding was in mid May. There were roses and many other flowers in bloom all over. Highly recommend Postlewaits.

Their professional kitchen is set up to hire your own caterer, and they have all of the tableware and linens there that you can use with the purchase of that package- a way more convenient and affordable choice than hiring a rental service. They only do one wedding a day, so the place is yours! My only regrets are the following: I wish they let us on the property a bit earlier for hair and makeup. Also, the venue is in the middle of nowhere, which makes it tricky if you need to reserve hotels, coordinate safe transportation, and/or plan other entertainment for out-of-town guests. That all said though, I would highly recommend this venue!

My only complaint is that at the dress rehearsal I had asked the Postlwait's coordinator about additional barn lighting incase of inclement weather, and she assured me the lighting would be sufficient. Unfortunately that is just not true and my pictures were hardly salvageable. Knowing what I know now, I would have made sure the venue could have provided additional lighting before I booked them.

hey take care of the linens and tables for you! It is a gorgeous backdrop for photos, inside and out. The only two things I think they could do better are its very difficult to hang or post decorations to the wall or ceiling because they don't allow nails or screws, and most things don't stick to wood, and I wish they had a covered awning for outside weddings on rainy days, since they wont allow a wedding on the grass if its been raining. They have a beautiful patio right outside the barn that we used, and we just went for it in the rain with umbrellas, but a retractable awning would be a great addition that would make this venue absolutely perfect for a casual/semi formal Oregon wedding venue!

Going through this process with them I realized they are such great people I want to use their family for other services as well; rather than giving our money to someone else. We hired the owner/mother (Carolyn Postlewait) as our florist and their other daughter as our bartender and had great success/pleased with both!

! My wedding was perfect; I couldn't have chosen a better venue. It's immaculately landscaped and such a beautiful country setting. I also got to coordinate for a wedding there just a few weeks after my own and I know they would say the same about Postlewait's.
