About this vendor
Powder Mill Barn is a historical wedding barn venue situated in Enfield, CT. A rustic-yet-elegant property that is filled with history, this hall is the perfect choice for couples who are seeking a change of scenery in an elegant and sophisticated space. A true hidden gem, guests will be so mesmerized by the venue’s setting and natural surroundings that they won’t want to leave. Combining the natural beauty of the outdoor area with the refined beauty found inside, this venue lends itself to a day like no other.
Established in 1845, Powder Mill Barn was the horse barn of the Hazard Powder Company, which supplied gunpowder during the Civil War. Converted by Ralph Sweet for Square Dancing in 1959, the hall is now owned by his daughter, Polly. Along with magnificent wedding ceremonies, the venue hosts an array of scheduled activities on-site, welcoming visitors all year round. The barn comfortably accommodates 100 guests, and the 8-acre property alongside the Scantic River offers ample space for beautiful outdoor ceremonies and splendid photo opportunities. Couples can enjoy a wedding outside surrounded by grand oak trees or indoors under the illuminating fairy lights.
The team at Powder Mill Barn will strive to make the day as enjoyable as possible for its couples and guests. The venue offers various event rentals for smooth running, including an altar, decorations, tables and chairs, and a dance floor. Along with ceremonies and receptions, the venue can also accommodate showers and engagements. Couples can welcome loved ones to celebrate at any stage of their wedding journey, with options for engagement parties, wedding showers, and more.

for our wedding and were amazed on how pretty and clean the barn and the property was. There were many of the what I call fairy lights dangling throughout the barn and a beautiful backdrop with the lights. We fell in love with the place and booked it right away. Throughout our wedding process she was always quick to respond to any questions. There is an arch on the property near the stream you can decorate for gorgeous ceremony and pictures.. If you want the mystical/barn theme please check this place out. It's amazing.
Thank you
Tami

e for just about anything! The ceremony was held in the back area where the sun was setting at the perfect time. Everything was cleaned and perfectly manicured for our special day! Polly helped me find a coordinator, photographer and anything else I needed with her recommendations. She made the entire process simple and enjoyable and I cannot thank her enough for that. PMB is the perfect place, I am so lucky that we found it! 🤍 Thank you thank you!

here, it was just access to the lot and barn, nothing included. We did all the work ourselves to clean, decorate, etc. but it was appropriate based on what I paid. The current prices look beyond affordable for all the work Polly has put into the place since our wedding. The location is beautiful and rustic. We receive compliments all the time about our beautiful wedding and location. Thank you! 💙

ted. We had our ceremony and reception inside of the barn although there is an area on the property where you are able to have an outside ceremony. There is plenty of parking and easy access for your dj/food vendor. We loved that the barn is conveniently located near the highway and hotels, as well as various restaurants which made the weekend much easier for our out of town guests. If you are looking for a rustic wedding, this facility was perfect for us and hope that you consider making your lifetime memories there as well!
