The part I was most impressed by was he never let the party die or the dance get awkward like sometimes happens at weddings. There was always a group on the dance floor having a good time to the music he was playing. Even when a song came on that we didn’t know how to dance to, Seth would jump on the dance floor to lead us in the steps. We had so many great comments from our friends and family about how well he kept the crowd engaged. He was more than willing to play our crazy requests and kept the crowd going the entire time. Powerplay and Tyler exceeded our expectations for our reception, especially with COVID. We could not have asked for a better experience and are so happy we chose Powerplay!

r it was a disaster. He was very unprofessional and I’m so embarrassed. He danced the whole time (not appropriately) and when asked to do his job, he took the mic and called out my guest. He forgot about the dollar dance, the newly wed game, bouquet toss, garder toss and also asked if he could take my bouquet home. Extremely unprofessional. The manager Tyler did listen to me when I called the next day, but still asked for full payment. He also told me the other manager Steve would call me and make it right, and he has still yet to answer my 3 emails or give me a call.
I trusted Powerplay Dj with their word, and I ended up humiliated on my wedding day. I will not be recommending them.

Seth has been with PowerPlay DJ for 4+ years and has DJ’d a lot of weddings with a lot of 5-star reviews. He does have a bit of a quirky personality, but that’s what makes him great.
Addressing some of your concerns, our DJ’s are on the dance floor a lot, leading dances and keeping the party motivated, especially now more than ever during a covid. We don’t want to play to an empty dance floor. As far as the dollar dance and bouquet toss, those were done according to the music log. Every dance we DJ we always log our music in case there is any concern, we can look at our laptops and music logs to address it. I am attaching a .pdf of the whole dance where I highlighted when during the night the dollar dance and bouquet toss was done. (Unfortunately the knot won't allow me to add .pdf's or .jpg's)
There was no garter toss done because in your music meeting before the wedding you and your fiancé had chosen not to do one. As far as the newlywed game that was not done either, like you had said because that is an add-on to the wedding which costs more money which you declined to do.
The guest that you referred to earlier, that was called out, was also highly intoxicated and multiple times throughout the night he tried to get onto our equipment to try and change/play music. We take requests throughout the whole night and encourage that, but we do not encourage anyone to use our equipment without our consent or oversight.
The emails you addressed; one was sent on Saturday the day of the wedding asking to make the payment. Sunday was the same asking to make the payment. Monday was asking us to call where Tyler did take the payment and you addressed the aforementioned review. Per our contract we do ask that payments are made no later than 48 hours prior to the wedding.
Based on our findings we are sorry that you feel you had such a negative experience with us and we will strive to do better as we try make everyone’s night special. We wish you and your husband nothing but the best for the future.
Our Dj was punctual, kept things on task, played appropriate music per our guests (was mindful of children being present) and rolled with all the punches. We had to make a quick change for weather and he was super flexible and awesome with it. ...

If I had to share a complaint, I hand selected all of our music because we have a very particular taste in music and that's what I wanted at my wedding, but the DJ ignored my list and played what he wanted. We had a giant wedding so the dance floor was bound to be packed all night, and it was. But I think me and my guests would have enjoyed ourselves more had he paid more attention to my very well thought out playlist.

The book of photo strips of all the guests you get at the end of the night is such a fun keepsake. The night goes bye way to fast so being able to look back at all the fun photo strips and notes from guests is really special. edding as well, and had nothing bad to say. People have their favorite DJ's, but I honestly don't think they have a bad one there. Our DJ was Blake, and he did an awesome job. During our initial meeting with them, I brought an organized list of specific songs I wanted and a list of other songs I'd like to hear but I left it up to him to decide based on how the night went. Coming to the meeting organized made me very comfortable because it put us on the same page. He was totally "feeling the vibe" we wanted for the wedding based off our song choices, and we knew he'd be a great fit. The day of the wedding, we also had him come out and set up to help with the ceremony at our lake cabin. We had a keyboard player and two singers, but we had Blake come in order to have all the equipment we needed and to help with sound. At the reception, things went great. People LOVED the song choices and how he would just transition right into the next song. The dance floor was full all night and people are still telling us how awesome our dance was!

The process was really easy at first. After my initial inquiry for more info, they mailed me a packet, and included a contract and SASE for me to mail back to them if we decided to book them. We did because of other good reviews and a large music library. After that, we didn't do much for months, but then as the date came closer, maybe two months away, I contacted Troy to figure out what we needed to do next and set up a meeting to go over plans. It took quite a while to hear back, and I had to make several attempts to get a response, which was much slower than I would have liked. That was the only negative. In the end though, he came through, and once he connected me directly to Blake, everything was wonderful. Like I said, what mattered most was that my reception was amazing, thanks to Blake's awesome DJ-ing.
One nice thing is you get a discount on the FM Party Bus if you book Powerplay, so we did that.

Tyler from Powerplay was truly an amazing DJ. Our dance floor was packed the entire night and our friends and family commented that the DJ was excellent and one of the best they've seen.

t I have is that I gave them a list of songs I really wanted played and they didn't play all of them which was disapointing. I really would've liked him to stick to the list like he said he would. Overall, they were amazing and worth every penny! I wouldn't go with anybody else!
