This venue was an absolute GEM! It has so much charm and convenience, while also being incredibly affordable. The wood beams in the grand foyer are so elegant and the courtyard is ...
such a sweet area for cocktail hour. The space comfortably fit our 120 guests with plenty of room for dancing. We loved that we could bring in the vendors we wanted, purchase our own alcohol, and make the space our own. This venue is also conveniently located near downtown St Pete and had a full parking lot available with overnight parking. Nicole, the Events Coordinator, was so kind and helpful throughout the entire planning process and day of! We highly recommend this space!
Nicole at The Poynter Institute was an absolute pleasure to work with and The Poynter was our perfect venue! So much is included in the rental agreement and you can really customiz...
e the space to fit your vision and needs. With the space being so beautiful, we really did not need much decor. The location is perfect as it is right in downtown St Pete - this was wonderful as most of our guests traveled from out-of-town, and its location provides easy access to hotels, restaurants, nightlife, and more! As it is right across from the marina, you also have wonderful views which make for incredible photos! Additionally, it feels great to support a local non-profit that also gives back to our local, Tampa Bay community.
Loved having Poynter as our wedding venue! Would 100% recommend! Such a beautiful space for a wedding reception and close to the water and downtown St. Pete!

lia was easy to work with and the venue lets you choose your own vendors, which was a huge plus for us.
Andrew and Tong with Poynter were so great to work with. They were both super responsive and accommodating. I feel like Poynter is a bit of a “hidden gem” in downtown St. Pete. Bet...

Would highly recommend checking them out!
We are so happy that we chose the Poynter Institute for our wedding venue! We were searching for a DIY venue that would include ample time for our event, and that also had a modern...
feel. We found just that at Poynter, it really was our dream venue. Our guests also appreciated that there was free parking, and how close it was to the downtown St. Pete area. We worked with Andrew to coordinate our wedding reception and he was very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. He answered all of our questions and offered advice based on previous events. The space is so beautiful and it's so versatile with several different areas (courtyard, reflection pool, atrium). Our guests loved looking out into the marina during dinner, and we all enjoyed the spacious dance floor afterward. We highly recommend Poynter Institute for any DIY couples searching for a venue in the St. Pete area.
We only looked at 2 venues and knew immediately that this was the perfect place for us. We may be biased due to how close we live to the Poynter. Our guests raved about the venue a...
nd how beautiful it was. Tables and chairs included and we had the ability to make the rest our own with very limited restrictions. The beauty of the building made it very easy for us to decorate and keep everything simple and elegant. The staff was great to work with throughout planning and day of. We couldn't be more happy with our decision to have our reception here.
I can honestly say I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect venue. I have lived in here my entire life and nothing compares. The view of the marina, the lovely garden, the high ceil...

This venue was exactly what we were looking for. The view from the great hall was so lovely for an evening wedding. Our guests told us over and over again how they loved the space ...
