My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at Prairie Star in May and are so glad we did! What really drew us to the venue were the beautiful views of the Sandias, th...
e mostly-inclusive nature, the feeling of privacy, and the affordability compared to other venues in the city. All of these did not disappoint. We also LOVED the food; I had multiple guests tell me it was the best food they have had at a wedding. Rebecca and her team are professional and incredibly practiced at what they do, and on the day of the wedding everything was very smooth, even when we had to delay the outdoor ceremony due to rain and wind. The only hiccup we had during the planning process was not being able to confirm being able to use the space for a rehearsal; we were told it just depended on whether or not a wedding or event booked for the previous evening. We ended up doing a run through at another site so we could plan our rehearsal dinner, etc. Overall, we would definitely recommend Prairie Star for any wedding or large gathering!
The venue is gorgeous! Rebecca made things easy and helped everything flow seamlessly. Food was great and everything was wonderful! Recommend!
The venue was absolutely beautiful and the food was amazing as well. However, the banquet manager Rebecca was a nightmare to work with. Our wedding was on Saturday September 17, we...
were scheduled to have our rehearsal on Thursday the 15th during 4-5 pm. I asked Rebecca what would happen if we went over in time and she said we couldn't because there was another party having their rehersal at 5 that day but we could move ours to 6:30 if we were worried about going over. So we did. She emailed me the week before the rehearsal to ask us to move our rehearsal AGAIN because the 5 oclock party needed more time. I told her we couldn't because we had a rehearsal dinner planned after. We were expected to accommodate someone else's wedding rehearsal because Rebecca double booked the rehearsal times. When I stood my ground about not changing our time she acted like she was doing us a favor by getting her other party to stay in the time frame they had already been scheduled for. She was extremely rude and treated us like we were some second class citizens, even after we spent almost $20k at this establishment. It all around put a damper on our whole experience.
Prairie Star was the perfect venue for our wedding day. It was nothing short of perfect and Rebecca ensured everything ran so smoothly. The food was amazing, the guests could not s...
top talking about it! On top of everything, this venue provides views that will leave you breathless. If I could do it over, I wouldn't change a thing!!
Working with Rebecca was wonderful and simple. She is a true professional who made the wedding day run smoothly. Thank you Rebecca. The food and atmosphere were perfect
This venue is awesome! From the backdrop of the Sandias to the food, everything is amazing! Rebecca was responsive to all my questions along the way and her and the staff went abov...
e and beyond on our special day. Our guests commented how nice everything was especially the food. I highly recommend to anyone.
Rebecca, the event coordinator at Prairie Star, was an absolute professional. She flawlessly executed the event for us, and even helped us get kegs of our favorite local beer! We w...
ere able to do the outdoor/indoor event that we were hoping for and transformed the lawn near the ceremony into a space for lawn games and lounge area. The food was delicious - far beyond what I was hoping for with a buffet style reception. This venue have wonderful views of the Sandia Mountains and blew away all of our out of town guests.
We had our wedding here and it was perfect!! Rebecca was so helpful and she thinks of everything! We had a rain delay and the whole staff was so kind and rearranged the tables unde...
r the tent so we could have the ceremony under the tent but still have the mountains in the background! Everyone was so helpful! The food was amazing!! We received so many compliments on the food! And the view is unreal! The biggest selling point for us was the perfect view of the Sandias! We loved everything about this venue!
I had my ceremony and reception at Prairie Star last weekend and it was absolutely fabulous. The staff was so kind and helpful. We had rain during the first hour, when the ceremony...
should have been going on, but once it stopped, the staff got our there and wiped down the chairs to begin the ceremony. The food was delicious and the bartenders did a great job. The entire staff even stayed 30 minutes late so that we could continue the reception a bit longer. The coordinator, Rebecca, helped us stay calm during the rain delay and kept everything else running smoothly. This venue has the most gorgeous view of the mountains. No other venue like this is ABQ!
We ran into some major issues with our venue and ended up moving our ceremony/reception to Prairie Star only TWO WEEKS before the big day. They were WONDERFUL! They made everything...
so easy and worked with us to make everything perfect. In only a couple of weeks, they pulled everything together, and our day was absolutely perfect. I loved everything about the venue, and everyone was raving about the food; many people told us that it was the best wedding food they'd ever had! We loved this venue and would recommend it to anyone who is getting married.
Motivated by a last-minute venue change, we visited Prairie Star and instantly fell in love with the mountain vistas and charming adobe restaurant. We were excited to be able to ho...
ld our wedding ceremony outdoors, under the spreading tree that perfectly framed the unobstructed view of the Sandias. Our reception in the banquet area of the restaurant was perfect as well, with plenty of space for our band, dancing, dinner and mingling. The chef worked with us to create a perfect NM-styled buffet, and Rebecca, the special-event coordinator was incredibly easy to work with and made sure our evening went smoothly. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience!

ding pics. this place was a little more money then a hotel but well worth it.
I really loved this place from the moment I saw it! The ceremony can be held outdoors under a beautiful tree with a backdrop of the mountains which is what we did. Then we had our ...
reception inside. The room is a bit small but it works perfect if your having a smaller wedding like we did. The food is also really delicious! We had the steak/chicken buffet and everyone really enjoyed it! The only reason I gave the place 4 stars instead of 5 was because it did happen to rain during our wedding so we didnt quite have the backdrop of mountains we were hoping for. But luckily it did stop long enough for us the have the ceremony outside. But I would still recommend this place :)
Prairie Star offered picturesque views, an amazing food spread, and an elegant, relaxed atmospher. Catering was great! All food was prepared well and displayed beautifully. As a f...
irst time bride, I was very nervous regarding how things are normally set up by a wedding party, timelines, decor suggestions and did not receive a lot of feedback from the director. The entire staff, director included, was very courteous and professional. The venue is divine!
Great location, Rebecca is organized and to the point. Beautiful scenery for ceremony and excellent indoor room for reception
