Working with Peter made this whole experience. Our venue required a kosher caterer, but was also in a field in a summer camp in upstate New York and once I had spoken to Peter to get an initial quote, we knew he was the man to handle the task. He thought through every detail and was so valuable on the day making sure everything ran smoothly. AND THE FOOD! Such an amazing selection and everything was delicious. Peter was able to bring our vision to life, including our idea to have s'mores instead of a wedding cake, which was the perfect ending to the night. We can't thank Peter and the team at Prestige enough for helping make our wedding day so special!
We hired Prestige caterers for our son's wedding at Surf Club on the Sound. Spencer was responsive and provided us with a wide array of choices for hors d'oerves and carved meats for the kabbolos panim and tish. Everything was delicious from the hors d'oerves to the main meal to the dessert tables. We received a lot of compliments and were very happy with the amount of food. The churros on the dessert table are still being talked almost a week later. We can't speak to the service during the wedding because the venue provided the waters but the food was on time, warm and plentiful. We were also happy that they packed up some extra food for the bride and groom to take to the hotel and also for both families to take with them. Very happy and would hire them again.
Prestige Catering was amazing for our wedding. We had our wedding at the Art Factory which is a unique venue and they did everything to make the catering experience matched the feel of the venue. We worked with Spencer and Vanessa, both of whom were so kind and helpful leading up to the wedding and promptly answered all of our questions throughout the process. We went with stations rather than table service and their menu provided a wide variety of options so that all our guests would be satisfied.
We also want to specifically compliment Edwin, the head waiter and coordinator at our event. He was so attentive and on top of everything, not to mention an absolute delight to work with. I never needed to worry about what was going on with the food. He also made sure that we, the bride and the groom, were fed, including bringing refreshments to the bridal suite and groom room before the event began and bringing a sampling of everything to our table while we mingled.
Our guests were raving about the food especially the pastrami and the variety of desserts. They even gave us some to take home!!!
Literally could not get in touch with them. Every message (all nicely taken by an emplyee) was unanswered. We tried for weeks to get the menu, the hall couldn't even help. Then we get a call asking if we finished our selection (wtf right). We then requested the menu on that same call....and no menu was sent. The hall got us a copy the week of and we made our selections that day. Nothing we selected was followed, they served whatever they had (cheap crap like hot dogs).
So no customer service.
Amount of food was embarrassingly low. We paid double a normal price per plate and there was no food. I was humiliated as if I skimped (I'm all for people going cheap, so smart and respect it. But if I paid I better at least get something). Dessert ran out in about 5 minutes. No leftovers or a plate (oh, the staff had no problem finding extra food to take home, while guests got nothing).
Anyway. The food we had was delicious, but not worth it.
How fortunate we are to have discovered Prestige Caterers!
They are beyond amazing! Working with Spencer was a delight! He was always available for questions and was an integral part of creating a day to remember for our daughter's wedding. On the wedding day, Edwin and his team were phenomenal!! Edwin felt like part of the family; he wanted the day to be perfect... and it was! He knew just what to do at all the right moments! And of course, our guests were all raving about the food... the variety and quality of the entire meal: hors d'oeuvres; the delicious summer soup, the lovely entree choices, the tasty dessert! Thank you to Spencer, Edwin and the entire team for all the work that you did to make our day so very special! We are so appreciative!!
Prestige is the best! They catered our wedding and full wedding weekend and couldn't have been better to work with. Spencer and his whole team are knowledgable, courteous, friendly, fun and truly care about making your event a success. Their food was amazing and we are still getting compliments about it from our guests. The menu was customized to our tastes and we loved working with the team. Highly highly recommend!!
Extremely disappointed in caterer experience. Felt bad for the hosts, who clearly paid quite a lot in a beautiful venue for an August wedding. Service was awful. They grabbed the uneaten first course before the first dance ended! Very disorganized. They barely finished bringing out main entree, without even asking if there were special requests, like vegetarian/fish etc. Then brought out a large lump of mashed potates with a sprig of basil on it, instead of a grilled veggie plate for vegetarians, which they clearly could have as it was prepped for the smorgasbord. The young, inexperienced staff looked like deer in the headlights. There was one piece of dessert for the whole table. They never finished serving, then sent us to the lobby to try to find a cup of tea or coffee. The staff just wanted to grab food away, before you could eat anything. Totally clueless. Really feel bad for our generous hosts who did not deserve such terrible service at such a special celebration. Would recommend that you never use them! They need a lot of improvement, better staff and training.
Was at a wedding August 20, 2017, at the Addison Park in N.J.. I have never witnessed such a travesty in my life. The parents were humiliated by the poor service, failure to provide the food that was picked and paid for, and the ridiculous negligence of the caterer. Vegetarians were given a plate of cold mashed potatoes. Imagine being told by the waiter when I requested tea to pick it up in the lobby on the way out! There was no tea or coffee service. Ever. They should be put out of business!
When it came to caterers we were limited by which caterers our venue would let us bring in. It left us with Prestige, as well as two other popular kosher caters. It ultimately came down to which would give us a better rate and the most value. Prestige won that one.
Fast forward to our tasting: my fiance and I were BLOWN AWAY by the creativity, quality, profesionalism, and care we received by Berrel, our contact at Prestige. Everything we tasted was delicious, and Berrel's culinary background really showed as he helped us create a well balanced menu. He had great ideas on ways to tweak things, and really went above and beyond. After a great tasting, we were not disappointed on the wedding day! Everything was delicious and we received so many compliments on both the quality and the creativity of the menu. It's crazy how a little creativity (provided by Berrel) can transform a decision based purely on best-value into a beautiful, well-executed, and creative menu.
Also, I'm not sure what the position is called, but Prestige also provided someone who keeps things moving smoothly throughout the entire wedding (even in areas not related to the food). He was fantastic as well.
Disappointing customer service, stale wedding cake, stale bread, and no attention to detail or presentation.
Cocktail Hour was done well. Better for a small affair.
Prestige gave us amazing kosher food at our wedding and was very helpful that day with helping us line up for entrances, setting out place cards and keeping everything on schedule. Everyone said the food was amazing, especially cocktail hour and desserts. They really outdid themselves with our 4-dessert sampler as well as a small 3-tiered display of more desserts in addition to the cake. They were also very nice to give us two private tastings in order to help us finalize our menu. Their pricing was also very reasonable and negotiable.
However, working with them up until the wedding day was a bit stressful and frustrating. They were difficult to get a hold of, did not always respond quickly or when they said they would to emails, and ended up giving us a beautiful cake – but not with the design I said I wanted. I wish they had taken more initiative and been more forthcoming with information along the way so that I wouldn’t have had to make so many phone calls to clarify and confirm things. We were also surprised that Peter, who we had worked with, was not there at our wedding and had sent someone else. That manager, Edwin, did a great job but it still seemed strange to us.
Highly recommend Prestige, especially if you are looking for a Glatt kosher caterer. The food was delicious and we got so many compliments from guests. They added so many creative touches and ended up giving us more stations at our cocktail order than what we ordered. Definitely great value.
Wow. Wow. We worked with Howie at Prestige, who did a PHENOMENAL job. Our food was absolutely amazing, delicious, I could go on forever. I have religious family and friends, and a huge number of non-Jewish friends who RAVED about the food. We have had Prestige at other affairs, and knew we would want them for our wedding. Howie was so kind, accommodating, and met with us a few times to put together a mouthwatering menu. The cocktail hour was AMAZING (we heard, because we were taking pictures), we LOVED our meal, people were even raving about the breads Howie put out for every table. He is passionate about food, and is extremely talented. We can't wait to use Prestige again for another affair.
Spencer outdid himself. many comments on our amazing food and beautiful presentation
I wish I could have tasted it all!!! It was totally kosher and delicious!!! People are literally calling and telling me that they haven't had such great food at a wedding in a really long time!
The food was amazing. 2 weeks later and my guests still approached me about the food! Awesome. Superb. I was very pleased with them
Of course when you go for the tasting everything is amazing but then when it was time for the actual wedding....it was just okay. The desserts were not as tasty as they had been at the tasting. There are not a lot of options out there for high end kosher caterers but I think that I would use them again.
