Pretty as a Peach

I’m so glad I brought Lisa on board to do my wedding make up! She has such a sweet, calming presence and did such a fantastic job. I shared with her inspo-photos of hair and make up looks that I liked and she was able to bring my vision to life. We went with natural, shimmery make up and Hollywood wave hairstyle. Oh my goodness it was gorgeous. I ended up with a glowy-dewy look. Loved it. She also walked me through getting good hair extensions because I used them for my big day. She doesn’t just do make up and hair, she knows how to make you look and feel like a princess, and this is exactly how I felt on my wedding day. I felt the most beautiful ever. Not to mention we had such great conversation and bonding! Overall the entire process with her was so smooth and relaxing. I, and my bridesmaids, truly felt pampered and taken care of. Pretty as a Peach did a fantastic job with the hair and makeup for my wedding! Our artists were Rachel and Kate. Rachel did my and my maid of honor's hair and makeup, and my mom's hair. Kate did the hair and makeup for my husband's mom and sister and the hair for his stepmom and other sister. Everyone looked so good after and looked like their inspo pics. For the most part, everyone's hair lasted all day and night and we barely even had to touch up on makeup (just our lips). Both girls were super sweet and got along with our bridal party well. So happy we went with pretty as a peach!!

I booked Pretty as a Peach for my wedding and had both positive and negative experiences. Positives were that they were very accommodating, worked with my schedule when planning my trial and even allowed me to reschedule when I had a last minute emergency. Both Olivia and Annabelle were kind, efficient, and made us look beautiful for my big day. Unfortunately, everyone who had makeup done ended up needing to heavily touch up their face makeup within a couple of hours of application. I needed to fix mine about an hour after the makeup artist left because I teared up and had tear marks streaked through my face. I wasn’t sobbing, it was literally a few tears that completely streaked through my face makeup. It was in the low 60’s for my wedding day, so we also didn’t sweat much. It wasn’t until the next day that we all realized setting spray was never applied. I realize I should’ve known to ask for it, but in the moment I didn’t think about it. I also was under the impression that we’d be getting airbrush makeup, which didn’t happen. After speaking with the owner I was informed this was something I was supposed to request. I made an error in assuming airbrush was the only option based on the description of services at the time, I don’t know how I would’ve known differently. I didn’t comment on this the day of since it didn’t seem like the makeup artist had the airbrush materials with her and she came in late so I didn’t want to delay the start of services. I also thought maybe I’d just read the description wrong. When I spoke to the owner about my concerns it felt like I was brushed off. She said that unfortunately moisture in any form can negatively impact the integrity of face makeup. While this is true, I think any Bride that hires a professional makeup company is paying for services with the expectation that the makeup will last more than a few hours. The owner also suggested that if I had spoken up on the day of then these issues could’ve been rectified in that moment. She said that the makeup artists aren’t mind readers and that it was my responsibility to speak up, which I can understand to a certain extent. I don’t feel that it should’ve been my responsibility to remind the makeup artist to apply setting spray since that is a pretty common step for majority of professional makeup applications. I had about 1000 thoughts going through my mind that day and simply didn’t notice setting spray wasn’t applied. I feel that both sides made mistakes in this situation, me for not speaking up and theirs for forgetting/not being more clear about the airbrush option. While the situation was frustrating, I don’t think the artist meant to forget the setting spray and the lack of airbrush services seemed to be a genuine misunderstanding. I wish the owner would’ve given me a genuine apology about my concerns instead of making me feel as though these issues were my fault. My main goal in posting this review isn’t to bad mouth anyone, I simply want to ensure this experience doesn’t happen to another bride. I would recommend this company again for hair, as Annabelle did a lovely job and all of our hair lasted the entire night. I appreciated that both her and Olivia were determined to do all they could to help ensure my hair/makeup fit the vision I had in my head. With makeup services I’d be sure to speak up if you’re interested in airbrush makeup or setting spray, since based on my experience those items are not automatically thought of.
