I've been to a wedding before where I was given grief when i was getting hair/makeup because "Asian hair is so much more difficult" and didn't want that to happen again. I had my first hair and makeup trial with Joanne 9 months in advance and booked her after the tremendous job she did. After looking at my Pinterest inspiration, she was able to figure out what I was going for, and she works super fast too (without appearing to be rushing at all). I was so impressed with the trial AND she is so fun and easy to talk to. I had 1 more trial about 2 weeks before the wedding just because I was having second thoughts about my hairstyle and Joanne was able to figure out what worked well for me and put me at ease. On the day of the wedding, she showed up a little early with 3 other hair and makeup artists to where we were getting ready, this was to do the hair and makeup for 11 women and 1 flower girl. Her team worked nonstop to get us ready and they all took the time to consult with every bridal party member, look at their photo inspiration (I had no restrictions or set hairstyles for the bridesmaids) and create flawless looks on everyone. Everyone was very complimentary of the team and some said that it was the best makeup they ever had because of the airbrushing! Joanne worked on me and I could not have been any happier with the hair and makeup. I can't wait for the next fancy event in my life in town because I will definitely be calling up Ms. Joanne! Joanne and your whole team - thank you so much!!

and usually hate when I get my makeup done because people often use colors that are too dark and drastic. Joann, however, made me feel more beautiful than I have ever felt. My hair and makeup could not have been more perfect. I was sweating during the Second Line and cried (a couple times) and my makeup never smudged! When I spoke with my photographer (less than a month before the wedding), I found out we were going to have to be ready much earlier than we planned for. I called Joann in panic mode because I didn't think we were going to have enough time for all of my girls to get hair and makeup done. Before we got off the phone, she said "don't worry, we will make this work no matter what". That is LITERALLY all I needed to hear and I knew I wouldn't have to worry. Sure enough, she made it happen. Not to mention, my makeup lasted all morning and throughout the night (we had a day wedding) and my hair was solid, too! Book these girls!!

I met her a few months before the wedding for a hair/makeup trial. She is everything you'd need in a MUA: very skilled at her craft, responsive and generous with her communication, and prompt. We emailed back and forth several times in the months prior to the wedding to test ideas and get some advice (e.g. what did she think about eyelash extensions?). She came to the hotel with an assistant to do hair and makeup for me, 4 bridesmaids, and my mother... and even convinced the groom to get some airbrushing done. Everything was on time, super fun, and stress-free. Oh, and we all looked fabulous. None of the girls wear much make-up normally, and the MOB was downright terrified of looking "not like herself." Somehow, we were all transformed into glowing, sophisticated, head-turning best versions of ourselves. Worth every penny and more.

I could tell that she has solid fundamentals in hair and makeup. She knew how to deal with all different types of hair texture, length, and style as well as different facial features. During the trial, she was extremely attentive, accommodating, and listened to exactly what I visioned. On the actual day of the wedding, she arrived early to allow enough time for setup and by the time the bridal party arrived, we were good to go. She was so professional and easy to talk to. For the bridesmaids, she was able to create the exact hairstyle they wanted by just simply looking at a picture. She was meticulous but quick and made each individual bridesmaid look phenomenal. As for the bridal makeup, she went above and beyond to make sure the hair and makeup was exactly as I envisioned it. She paid attention to little details such as the condition and color of my skin that day and made sure I looked flawless. The makeup and hair lasted all night and got endless compliments. I cannot say enough good things about Joann and her team. They really were wonderful and it was the best choice I made!

I just told her I like smokey eyes, that I wasn't entirely sure what would look good on me and that I trusted her judgement. She gave me a soft smokey eyes and it really complements my skin tone. I felt beautiful on my wedding day, thanks to Joann! My make up and hair do held well through out the day and so was my mom's make up and hair-do. I would absolutely recomment Joann to just about anybody :)

hair and make up skills are wonderful. I had a United Nations multicultural thing going on with my bridal party, and we all looked beautiful. Joann and her sister can make anyone look their best. I don't really wear make up and hate the feel of makeup, but their airbrush technique felt natural and lasted all day. Seriously, over 16 hours. (Probably could have lasted more, but I got sleepy.)

had to wait for correspondences over email - it's a tad difficult to plan a wedding in New Orleans from Chicago with no planner. Joann was so helpful and genuine and easy-going but extremely reliable and very professional and talented. I HIGHLY recommend her services and she does NOT disappoint.

We had nine people altogether and the team worked carefully but efficiently to get us all ready in time. The Pretty Please team has unparalleled attention to detail and patience. They were all so pleasant to work with and really went above and beyond to make sure everyone looked and felt beautiful. They are unbelievably talented and I highly recommend them to everyone!

ial went well but there were things I wanted to change, but I would have to wait until the wedding day. BOY oh boy did she get it! Joanne made me look more beautiful than I could have hoped for. The hair was perfection and it stayed in all night. My airbrush makeup lasted all day/night even though I was sweating during pictures in the french quarter and I cried during the ceremony. People kept commenting on how beautiful my eye makeup was. I could not have been more pleased. I would also like to mention that the start time of the wedding makeup & hair changed and she rolled with the change. She changed some morning appointments around so that she could make an earlier start time for us. She really was lovely to work with. My only critique has nothing to do with her work - one of the hair girls that came with her did some hair of our bridal party and not all of my girls were satisfied but, I think if we had more time and if they spoke up that could have been fixed. Hire Joann at Pretty Please!!! You will not regret it!
