Nestled in the picturesque hilltop of Colchester, Connecticut, Priam Vineyards is a wedding venue with breathtaking views, award-winning wines and beautiful ambiance. Situated on 40 acres of farmland, the hilltop vineyard offers an enchanting escape for your wedding day, only 20 minutes outside of Hartford and 15 miles from the New England coastline. Priam Vineyards is in proximity to Mohegan Sun Casino, Mystic Seaport, The Goodspeed Opera House and many outdoor attractions and hikes. Our wedding team can recommend caterers who provide a range of dining options to meet every budget and palate.
For outdoor weddings, our venue can accommodate up to 350 guests. We offer a complete site and service package that includes use of our bridal suite, your ceremony in our Bluebird Pasture, reception in our elegant tent, tables and chairs, setup and break-down, firepit and more. Pricing is based on your guest count. If you envision getting married outside among grapevines, hilltop views, and tall maple trees, our Bluebird Pasture is the perfect site for you.
For an indoor wedding, our rustic winery is ideal for intimate celebrations with up to 100 guests. Our tasting room is surrounded by windows with natural light and an elegant charm. It is a perfect location for couples seeking a quaint and cozy experience.

We had our wedding at Priam in September of 2021, and it was everything we had wanted it to be and more. We picked Priam in February of 2019, after looking at quite a few outdoor vineyard and barn type venues throughout Connecticut. It was an easy decision, because aside from the incredible views and location, their ability, in partnership with their catering partners (Gourmet Galley in our case), to take care of all of the little things and make it a smooth, easy day was unparalleled. I was not someone who wanted to worry about bathrooms, linens, chairs, or cocktail napkins, and I didn’t have to, and the ‘standard’ options were beautiful and perfect. The other marvelous thing was how incredibly customizable our day was going to be – if I wanted anything specific, from décor, chairs, settings, schedule, etc., we could do it. The guidance our coordinator gave us was if it was legal and wouldn’t hurt the vines, it was doable!
Even through the uncertainty that 2020 and 2021 brought to event planning, the staff and coordination team was wonderful to work with, answering all our questions, providing solutions, and pointing us in the direction of some great vendors to work with. They helped us create a special and unique day that truly felt like ‘us,’ not a cookie-cutter wedding from a template. Through our rehearsal and event, the staff was friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make it feel like a special day, between golf cart rides around the property for the perfect picture, to organizing our décor and firepit, to generally being supportive and calming.
Our day went off without a hitch, and I got nothing but compliments from our guests as to how perfect the location and venue were. It embodies quintessential New England fall beauty, and it was wonderful to let our décor be subtle and subdued to let the setting shine. Our pictures have turned out amazingly so far, and I can’t recommend the firepit and s’mores option enough. Our guests young and old loved the chance to step away from the dancing and loud music and enjoy a beautiful fall night and nice conversation.
I can’t imagine our day having taken place anywhere else, and would recommend Priam, Amylu, Gloria, and the whole team to anyone looking for a classic, picturesque setting for their special day!
Overall the picturesque views and decor of the vineyard was absolutely beautiful! It was such a beautiful place to take pictures, enjoy everyones company and be married to your best friend. As much as we loved the venue, the wedding coordinator at Priam Vineyard was very unfriendly and quite frankly rude on our wedding day. She made a huge seen huffing and puffing because her co-worker had opened a bottle of wine for me the bride and my bridesmaids to drink in the bridal suit prior to the ceremony. She told me (the bride) that it was not ours to drink, and that she would be adding it to our tab! REALLY!?! Over a bottle of wine 5 minutes before I was about to walk down the isle to get married.
As much as your wedding day is about the atmosphere and the love between you and your partner, it does put a damper on the day when someone that works at the venue is EXTREMELY RUDE to you and your family the entire day of our wedding!
My "now" husband and I have been going to Priam Vineyards for years. We decided to get married there because the scenery is beautiful and the wines are amazing. Our fall wedding was amazing, the foliage was perfect. Tanya, Gloria and Jim are an amazing team! They made the wedding planning process so easy. They responded quickly to any questions or problems we had encountered. Our wedding was on a very windy and chilly day in October but the tent was warm and our guest didn't even notice the wind while inside. Even with the wind we were able to enjoy the fire pit on the property. Everything at our wedding was perfect. We had a blast, our guest had a blast and if I could do it again I would.
This review is LONG overdue. We got married at Priam Vineyards in October 2018, and we could not have been happier with our choice to get married here! The venue is absolutely gorgeous! We got married in front of the vines, and just beyond that you see the rolling hills filled with the colors of fall foliage! Everything from the wedding contract, to the menu tasting provided by Gourmet Galley, to the rehearsal, to the day of the wedding was smooth and seamless. Gloria, Jim, and their entire staff work so hard to make your day everything you hope and dream it will be. The service and attention they provided was light years beyond what we expected! We have and will continue to recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful vineyard wedding.
My now-husband and I had a fabulous wedding at Priam Vineyards this past weekend! The wine was amazing and the rosé paired perfectly with a hot day. The reception tent at the venue dressed up beautifully and the scenery from the vineyard itself was stunning. Gloria was such a joy to talk to at the menu tasting, and Jim was extremely helpful when we ran into some unexpected circumstances with weather. The venue package is very attractive in terms of what they offer (large tent, linens, china, tables, chairs, etc.). We look forward to reminiscing for many years to come and will be back to drink more of their wine. Our guests also had nothing but great things to say about their experience at our wedding!
I visited a number of sites to look at venues and destination spots for our wedding and this one made it to the top list but I would like to add that when I actually visited the venue, I was more than impressed. The pictures and video on this site do not do it justice. My wedding was so much more than I could have ever hoped. I will be recommending this venue.
We had our wedding Saturday August 19, 2017 at Priam Vineyards and it's was nothing short of amazing! We were absolutely blown away by the amazing services provided by the staff. The vineyard is beautiful and their wines are so delicious. We were very well taken care of. Gloria and Jim, of Priam Vineyards, and Gina of Gourmet Galley Catering, were super helpful, a pleasure to work with, and are just overall incredible people. Thanks again!
Our wedding was more than I was hoping for! While Priam is a little off the beaten path for our out of state guests, it made for the perfect New England setting that i could not pass up and it definitely paid off! The grounds were beautiful and the tent turned into everything in my dreams! Gloria was there to congratulate us which was so nice! We were so grateful to use her vineyard for our special day! Our guests raved about the grounds, the view, the fire pit and most importantly THE WINE! I've never seen people take so many photos of their surroundings at a wedding than they did at ours! Priam Vineyards was the perfect venue for our wedding! It was absolutely stunning from the ceremony in the vines to the reception in the tent. Everything was perfect and all members of Priam and the catering company work hard to make our day perfect! From the initial meeting with Gloria to the wedding day, communication was always smooth and professional. Everyone at Priam was a pleasure to work with. The vineyard is by far our favorite place to be! It is absolutely breathtaking and peaceful! Our wedding was a 120 guests but the tent felt full and everyone was complimenting the views. We even had a fire pit which added to the ambiance of the evening. We would highly recommend Priam Vineyards to anyone who is looking for great views, great wine, and perfect wedding!
Our wedding at Priam was all we could have hoped for and more. The grounds and setting were absolutely gorgeous and really made it our dream wedding! Our ceremony took place in front of the vines with views of the Connecticut rolling hills. We took advantage of the all of the gorgeous grounds for our photos and our photographer got the most beautiful shots. We had a larger wedding party and 200 guests all there for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Despite it being a larger wedding it still felt intimate unique and intimate.
Priam was one of many CT vineyards we looked at for our big day. We chose Priam mainly because of the beautiful setting, value and what you get for your money, the way they seamlessly work with their caterer, and the wonderful people.
When we first met with Priam we had an amazing wedding coordinator Christine. She was super helpful, responsive, and such a pleasure to work with. She moved on from Priam before our wedding came but it is telling of caliber of staff Priam hires. Gloria was always such a pleasure to work with as well and we always felt (and still feel) like family whenever we make a visit to the vineyard.
Awesome venue.
They let us have a band. We party.
They served our homebrew at the reception and cocktail hour.
We were able to have friends and family play acoustic guitar at the fire pit after 10pm.
My wife and I are actually planning to go there for wine tasting this spring.
I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.

Priam Vineyards was the perfect setting for our May wedding. The grounds are beautiful and the setting for the wedding ceremony give your guests beautiful views. The wine they make on site is delicious and we got tons great feedback from guests on the taste and variety! In combination with Riverhouse Catering the entire event was beautiful and exactly as we imagined it would be; we felt well taken care of throughout the entire planning process. We look forward to being able to revisit the vineyard and winery for years to come.
The entire team worked so hard to make this the wedding of our dreams. Delicious wine, breathtaking setting, beautiful food. Coordinator, Christine, is so, so good at her job - very available and knowledgeable, plus just an overall pleasure to work with. Recommend wholeheartedly
Priam Vineyard is absolutely breathtaking! The owners and staff were a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them to future couples, as our night was definitely a dream come true!
What a magical day it was! Priam was everything we could have imagined! We lucked out with a beautiful and sunny day, but the ceremony was in the shade by 5pm, and reception in the tent was a blast. Cocktail hour was next to the tent and had a beautiful arrangement of cheese, crackers and veggies. The caterer, in partnership with Priam, was amazing and our BBQ style meal was to die for. Kim's cottage cakes was our cake vendor (also linked to Priam) and was the most beautiful cake that fit our unique desire for a blue ombre cake. I would recommend Priam & team in a heartbeat!
We chose Priam Vineyards not only for the beautiful location, but because right from the start Gloria and Gary made it clear that our wedding would be special, and that they would do everything they could to make sure our wedding day was everything we’d hoped for. It was also clear from the start that we weren’t just another event on their schedule. Every time we visited the vineyards, whether it be to check out the layout or to taste the wines, they were friendly, inviting, and made us feel like honored guests. The same can be said of their Wedding Coordinator, Christine, who, even long distance (we live in VA), was very easy to work with. She was very responsive, thorough, and always took the time to answer any questions we had, regardless of how menial they seemed. They were also super flexible with our wedding day plans (we had a few changes the week of), and did their best to make things as easy and stress-free as possible. Both the rehearsal and day of the wedding were seamless. The venue looked absolutely beautiful and they followed our instructions for “décor” exactly as we’d indicated. Our guests all raved about the beautiful location and how fabulous the ceremony and reception went. It was such a great feeling to not have to worry about anything the day of our wedding, as we knew it would all be taken care of. We’ll definitely be stopping back at Priam every time we’re in town to catch up with Gary, Gloria, and Christine, and absolutely recommend Priam Vineyards to any couple looking for a unique, beautiful, and warm-welcoming wedding venue.
Me and My Partner will be getting Married next June @ Priam Vineyards. I was initially hesitant about an outdoor wedding even though it has always been my dream but I am so happy to be taking the chance with Priam. The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and very helpful. I have full faith in their wedding coordinator Christine to make the day absolutely perfect! The owners are such a nice couple who really put their heart into the winery and it shows! The tasting bar is especially fun due to the great personality of its host! So excited to spend the next year planning with Priam! Highly Recommended and will write again after the wedding!
While my fiance and I were on the hunt for a wedding venue, as soon as we visited Priam Vineyards, we knew the search was over! We were married in September 2014 among the vines and beautiful foliage. Gary, Gloria and Christine were an absolute pleasure to work with and went above and beyond for us. Both Gary and Gloria, the owners, take immense pride in their vineyard, as the grounds are stunning, especially in the early fall.
There is only 1 wedding per day hosted at the vineyard, so each bride is given full attention by the staff and coordinators. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, which made my wedding day completely stress free. Whenever I had any questions or concerns during the planning process, Gloria and Christine were immediately responsive and professional. During our reception, one of the tent heaters broke, but Gary was quick to address the issue and resolve it timely.
I recommend them wholeheartedly for any couple looking for top notch customer service, amazing wines, and gorgeous backdrop for your special day!
During the year that we planned our wedding everyone at Priam Vineyards was amazing. They made us feel like family each time we went to visit or for a meeting. It's been a month since our wedding and we have not stopped hearing how great our venue was. Despite the fact that it was an outdoor venue in sheets of rain. Either way, the day was beautiful and Gary, Gloria and Christine at Priam are amazing and accommodating. We even had other vendors commenting to us how great the team is at Priam! There dedication to your special day is not just the day of- but the weeks and months prior. Christine, the wedding coordinator gave me her personal cellphone # to call/text when ever I was having a wedding meltdown. She never seemed annoyed or bothered. I cannot say enough great things about Priam Vineyards. I am so happy that we decided to have our special day there. My HUSBAND!! and I cannot wait to go back and visit. The great part about getting married at a vineyard as home-like and welcoming as Priam Vineyards is that you can always go back to your wedding venue. Not many couples can say that. Choosing Priam Vineyards as our reception location was one the easiest decisions out of all the wedding decisions we made! As soon as we visited the grounds, we fell in love (with their wine, too!).
We were married October 11th 2014, right at the peak of foliage change and the views are amazing on the vineyard. You literally are among the vines under their amazing tent. Being able to walk the premises during our event was a hit with guests. They loved exploring the grapevines and snapping photos amongst them!
Gary and Gloria (Priam owners) take such pride in their grounds and wine, it shows - it's a fully functioning solar powered vineyard! The maintenance of the tent along with the tables, chairs and other provided items are in great condition.
Christine, the event coordinator for Priam, was a joy to work with. She is professional, organized, honest, and super sweet. She worked so hard to make sure our special day went smooth - and it did! Not one blemish.
If you're looking for a location that has a rustic, natural, and romantic feel, I highly recommend Priam Vineyard. And working with a team like Priam's, made the experience more relaxed than I had imagined!
We recently got married at Priam Vineyards and from start to finish, we couldn't have asked for more. From day one, Gary and Gloria, the owners of the vineyard, were welcoming and lovely to interact with, and Christine, their coordinator was organized and attentive. When we were looking at venues, we knew instantly that this was the place for us. The location is beautiful and they work well with their caterer - Riverhouse Catering. The food was outstanding, and we got so many nice complements about both the venue and caterer. The day went off without a hitch - all of our guests commented on how seamless everything seemed to be. Gary even went above and beyond, driving some of the kids around in the golf cart to entertain them, and calling the next door neighbor to bring her horses over to the fenceline for some of our photos, as he knew we have horses at home. We truly couldn't have asked for more - the prices were reasonable for CT standards, the setting is breathtaking and exactly what we were going for (comfortable, beautiful, rustic, and unique), and everyone was impressively organized and accommodating.
We knew we wanted an outdoor NE wedding and had visited many venues in CT, RI, and NY before deciding on Priam Vineyards. Our wedding was on a Sunday afternoon in September. It could not have been a more beautiful day plus at this time of year the grapes are fully grown on the vines waiting to be harvested, adding to the picturesque setting.
Priam stood out from all the other vineyards we visited, not only for their incredible location but also the fantastic owners (Gloria & Gary) and wedding coordinator (Christine). Probably the biggest difference between this vineyard and many other outdoor venues we looked at was the ability to have the wedding any day of the week at any time during the day without interference from the tasting room. The tasting room for the vineyard is totally separate from the wedding ceremony & reception site. This made for a truly intimate wedding and did not lock us into the hours where the vineyard was closed.
I cannot say enough about how wonderful Priam is to work with. They are not rigid at all and are willing to go above and beyond to make you happy. There is only 1 event a day so there is no rush or another bride trying to take photos. The wine is wonderful, the setting is one of the most beautiful vineyards I have seen. They also provide wonderful suggestions for photographers, florists, car services and everything else you could need. Our guests went on and on about how beautiful the location was and what a wonderful wedding we had. I could not have imagined a more perfect day for our wedding.
If you are looking to have an incredible outdoor wedding in Connecticut or New England this venue is a must see! Priam Vineyards is wonderful to work with.
