The cake turned out exactly how I wanted it. The design was exactly what I envisioned it to be. Everyone loved the flavor we chose and the cake was light and delicious. The tasting they provide was also a fund experience. I would highly recommend using they for any upcoming weddings! :)
Absolutely amazing cake and desert bar for my wedding! We had a three tier naked cake that tasted SO DELICIOUS! The cannolis, eclairs, and fruit tarts were so yummy! The staff was so easy to work with and they were so professional! Highly recommend! 10/10!!!
Had to downsize our wedding due to COVID, Primrose was able to accommodate our tiny gathering (5 people). Due to COVID, placed my order over the phone (we had previously done a tasting). The cake was beautiful, exactly as I requested and delicious (highly recommend the Princess cake)!!
Update for our 2023 Wedding (post COVID):
The cake was beautiful and delicious! We went with a two tier princess cake (again!) and a sheet cake for cutting, the only thing is a little more of the raspberry jam would have made it taste even better! We worked with Maureen and she was great, good communication and very easy to work with!
We hired Primrose to do wedding pies for us in place of a wedding cake for something a little bit less traditional and fun. The pies were delicious and guests couldn't get enough! Primrose offered to us a wide variety of different flavors to chose from, plenty of flavors to suit anyone's taste. The team was friendly and very helpful and took a lot of the stress out of planning the dessert portion. Excited to have our leftover frozen half on our one-year anniversary!!
We can’t thank Jesse and Primrose Bakery enough. The service was wonderful throughout. They are a preferred vendor with Ruby Hill Golf Club and we met them through an event there. They scheduled a tasting for us on Valentine’s Day (my request) and there wasn’t a flavor I was mad at. We ended up with the Red Velvet, White Chocolate Raspberry, and Tiramisu.
We talked about my design ideas, I like simple but elegant and wanted to stick to a budget for 150 guests. Jesse was able to put those ideas on paper. We communicated mostly via email on the design. He patiently went back and forth with me on the design a few times because I’m indecisive but the end result was the most perfectly amazing cake that went so well with our perfectly amazing evening! It was so much more than I could have ever imagined. Not only was it breathtaking, it was delicious too. My guests raved about the cake and was sad they weren’t able to taste one of every flavor - it was THAT good. AND… we’ll get a cake to match our top tier for our first anniversary! Thanks Jesse!!!
We got an 8" cake for our wedding. The piping on the cake was beautiful. We received a lot of compliments. Setting up a tasting and figuring out the details was really easy. I showed a picture of what I was looking for - and primrose made it happen! Thank you!
The overall look of the cake was similar to what I had requested, however in general it was considerably drier then what was presented to me at the tasting.
Also I had originally requested (at least 4 months in advance)and had confirmation for a particular material to be used on my cake for the design, but two weeks prior to my wedding they called to notify me that they weren't able to order the materials in time. VERY disappointing considering they waited until last minute to place that order with months notice.
We invited 250 guests to our wedding and had been shopping around for a reasonable price for a cake that would be beautiful and taste great. I had never realized how expensive wedding cakes were and every where we'd go we'd get quoted about $2500.00, which was a bit intimidating. After scheduling sever consultations with different bakeries I came across Primrose Bakery (which is actually located at 350 Main Street Pleasanton, CA 94566. (925) 249-1261) I was so happy my research had landed me with an appointment with Primrose. First of all Amy the owners wife was amazing and so easy to talk to, I felt like I had know her my entire life and she was also helpful. We signed a contract with them immediately and paid about $1500, which sounds like a lot but it was $1000. less then all other bakeries we had met with and we also needed enough for 250 people. Her husband who I actually never met is a French trained pastry chef who did an excellent job with the cake, it was absolutely delicious and it looked stunning. It was delivered on time and we received several compliments on how amazing our cake looked and how it simply melted in their mouths. If I ever need a professional cake again I would not hesitate to call primrose bakery.
I went to the Pleasanton, Ca location, and it's run by a married couple, the husband being a french pastry chef. Their cakes not only look beautiful, but taste wonderful too!! The cake came out perfect, and exactly what I wanted!!
I found the cake I wanted immediately when I walked into their door. They enouraged us to sit down and view their album and taste them. They were kind enough to make an exception for me and bring the cake via a sketchy road where a mishap could occur. They pulled it off beautifully. You have choices of different flavors for each layer of cake. The guests loved the raspberry and the chocolate. I didn't realized that the top layer (lemon) was different. It seemed to have a lot of lard to keep in the freezer I suppose. If you you are like me and don't want the cake a year layer, let them know you want if preprared like the others. Make sure you bring home the leftover cake. You'll love it!
We used Primrose for our October 2010 wedding. Our cake looked and tasted amazing. The cake was light and fluffy, and the fillings (fresh raspberry with white chocolate mousse, and chocolate truffle mousse) were delicious. Just wish I would have had a chance to eat more cake! Looking forward to our replica cake on our 1st anniversary!
amazing and exactly what I asked for..it was a work of art!
Loved everything about the cake! The bakery was amazing. They even bake you a small cake for your anniversary!
When looking for my cake I was very unsure what I was looking for I went to many shops and none of them took the time that Primrose took to help me decide what cake style I wanted upon entering the shop the employee's sat down with me and showed me what designed they offered and se5 up a tasting appointment for me my husband and my parents since they were paying for the cake I wanted to include them. When coming in for our tasting they had a beatiful table set up with coffee and water and they had many samples for us to tast after deciding what cake I wanted and placing the order they let me know what size ribbon and amount of flowers needed for the cake and with the cost of the cake to not freeze the top layer and new cake would be made for us on our 1 year anniversary. On my wedding day they delivered the cake set up the entire table with flowers and candels and made it look absolutly beatiful it was everything I wanted it to be.;be picking when deciding who you want to make your cake just because it looks beatiful doesn't mean it will taste that good. listen to your gut feeling it will make all the difference in the world when trusting your baker
I loved the meeting we had with him. He is very creative and easy to work with. We weren't able to have flowers on our cake, so we decided to have raspberries cascading down because we had raspberries in the cake. He was very open to the idea and loved the result. It was probably his favorite cake to do.;He doesn't like to deliver cakes to venues that are hilly. (With good reason, no one wants a cake to fall over going over a hill)
