We booked Punderson Manor as lodging for our guests, as well as the venue for our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks on Friday night (wedding was at Meadow Ridge Events). Cons: St...
aff who manage events / room blocks are impossible to reach. We sent 2-3 emails and called the front desk every day to get a single response from Christine. Their contract has a very strict attrition clause, which their staff will try to say is "for your benefit." It's not, it is to protect the hotel. Do your research and be aware of the terms you're agreeing to before you sign the contract (this goes for all vendors). Pros: Beautiful, historic venue located in scenic Punderson State Park. Lodge has a gorgeous view of the lake, plenty of trails for exploring, and the rooms have been recently renovated. We reserved the fire pits Friday night after the rehearsal dinner, and guests could purchase drinks at the lobby bar inside. This was one of our favorite parts of the weekend. Our guests loved staying in the cabins and exploring the park.
Punderson Manor State Park & Lodge is a beautiful place to have a wedding. It's also a state park, it's also a bit old, and it's pretty reasonably priced (room rental + buffet ...
price (ours was $26/pp) + alcohol by drink, no open bar). The women at the lodge who help coordinate your event are great (Patty & Amy). The food is great. The location is stellar (nice old mansion on a pretty lake). It's just that the rooms aren't huge and they're a bit old and could use a good cleaning (nice window view to the lake though). We had to point out the cobwebs and ask to have them removed. They could also hire more staff for events. It took forever for them to break down our tables so we could have a dance floor. And they forgot the vegan entree I specifically requested for a friend. Overall though we loved it and would have our wedding here again, it was totally "us" with the outdoor wedding ceremony and reception room with a view and a fabulous patio (we had the bar on the patio with a fire pit).
This is where I had my ceremony and reception. Amy Feller is the wedding sales manager and she is truly a joy to work with. She was available for my questions and helped make aweso...
me suggestions. The venue is lovely if you have out of town guests and don't want them to get lost and have a great place to stay for your wedding. I enjoyed the food and the location. It helped to make my wedding vision become a reality.
Overall Punderson is simply beautiful and perfect. We got married in January and the pictures turned out sooo beautiful. It really was the ideal winter wedding location for us. My ...
biggest issue though was the fact that ALL food and beverages had to be provided by Punderson. Therefore, the bar tab was quite expensive. This obviously didn't stop us from going with Punderson but just a pre-warning. It would have been a perfect vendor if they had at least aloud us to bring in our own liquor bottles and beer/wine. But no regrets, Patty was great to work with though on occasion took a few days to get back to my emails. Would still reccomend the location to others just with a pre-warning to know what you are just going to have to deal with. LOVED that guests could stay the night there and could have wedding ceremony and reception at same location. EVERYONE said it was the best wedding they had been to in awhile and loved Punderson. So overall, would recommend still. :) Happy Planning!
I loved my wedding at punderson. the wedding and reception was quaint and romantic. if you are looking for a venue for a smaller event it is perfect! (up to 120 people). the pri...
ces were fantastic and they are very flexible with EVERTHING. it was nice only paying one person for food, hall, and beverage. They also let us charge our room to the bill. Our room was beautiful, it overlooked the lake. we payed the bill after breakfast which was included for us and some of our family. it was nice not having to deal with money after the reception, like some of my friends have had to do. the rooms are lovely for guests and the stae park has enough to do to keep everyone happy, the groomsmen enjoyed the golf course.
