Nikki is amazing. At the end of her lessons, we feel really confident going into our wedding with a doable and beautiful dance. While the dances are choreographed, they don’t look or feel like it by the end. Nikki is so fun to work with and her lessons were convenient because she came tour apartment downtown (which is clutch at the end of wedding planning). She makes you feel relaxed in a generally stressful time so the dance is not one of your worries. Don’t hesitate and just book her!

Nikki was wonderful-- my (now!) husband and I wanted help in creating a beautiful and fun first dance-- not an easy task for two tall, awkward people! But Nikki was patient, creative, and came up with a "loose choreography" for us to use, teaching us different spins and a dip. We had two sessions with her (once at our place, once at her place) and she was prompt, professional, and made it fun. Thank you Nikki, our dance was a big hit!

Nikki was an amazing instructor. She helped us go from nervous and unprepared to feeling confident and ready for our first dance - with an amazing dance loosely charted out - all in less than two weeks! She was extremely flexible on timing and location, and it was easy to work around each others schedules to find a time that was convenient for both of us - which for us was after working hours. We knew a few moves and had danced at several friends weddings, but we’re uneasy about producing a dance that would seem in sync without feeling over choreographed.we covered a lot of ground in two sessions over the two weeks before our wedding (our fault for procrastinating). Nikki taught us a few new moves and helped us “drill” them until they looked smooth and candid and most importantly felt natural for both of us. She was a pleasure to work with and I can’t recommend her enough!!

Nikki is fantastic! She helped us put together a first dance that seriously impressed our friends and family. Along the way she taught us dancing basics that improved our father/daughter and mother/son dances as well! She was flexible as our schedules filled up, and did a great job ensuring we got the most out of each lesson. Would strongly recommend her for anyone looking to make a particular dance amazing!

Nikki was great! We met her for three lessons to prepare for the first dance at our wedding. She was incredibly flexible and easy to work with! Neither of us had any major formal ballroom dancing experience, but she choreographed a great dance for us that felt casual, comfortable and fun. We had a great time working with her and couldn’t have asked for more!

I wholeheartedly recommend Nikki for dance lessons! Neither my husband nor I had much dance experience, so when we started to think about our first dance, we knew we needed a professional! As we started to look at options for dance lessons in the DC area, many of the ones we found seemed to require expensive packages or limited dates. We were thrilled to find Put a Swing on It and Nikki, who was flexible and created a plan based on exactly what we needed. From the very beginning, Nikki was professional, responsive, and patient. We had three one-hour lessons with Nikki, during which she choreographed a great first dance for us and made adjustments based on what we were comfortable with and enjoyed. Nikki is a fantastic instructor and exceedingly kind, and she made two non-dancers feel at ease! On the day of our wedding, we received rave reviews from our guests about the first dance, and we felt great sharing what we had learned from Nikki.

Nikki is and was a fabulous dance teacher and choreographer. Our son was getting married in September and we hired her to teach my husband and I to dance for the wedding and also to choreograph the mother/son dance. It was all a joy. For both projects. She was right on in reading what we wanted. She choreographed and taught my son and I a four minute dance in two one hour lessons. It was beautiful and made me feel that way the night of the wedding. And she was successful in teaching my husband and I the steps I wanted for partner dancing. Never before in our 39 years of marriage has my husband been willing to count and remember steps in spite of countless lessons. But he did for Nikki. We showed off our skills at the wedding and at a birthday party last Saturday night in January and hope to go back for more lessons. The most fun part about hiring Nikki was that we all enjoyed the process and the outcome and it was fun! Nikki is a very talented dancer, choreographer and a special, beautiful person. There aren’t enough stars to give her!

I highly recommend Put a Swing on It for any couple looking to feel confident and fun on the dance floor at their wedding! Nikki was so great to work with – the dance lessons were fun, efficient, and not at all intimidating, even though we came in with little dance experience. Before our first class, Nikki had choreographed a routine that was perfect for our song and atmosphere we gave her, that she and another instructor Zeynep taught us. My wife and I needed some last-minute help with dance routine at our wedding. We hadn't had much experience with formal dance moves, and weren't sure we'd be able to pull something off during the week we had to practice. Not only was Nikki responsive and accommodating, but she also helped us come up with a great dance routine that was tailored to what we were hoping for and our abilities. I'd highly recommend her to anyone looking for a smart dance instructor who understands how to help you get the results you're looking for.

Highly, highly recommend Nikki for private dance lessons at a wedding. She was so fun, and made the experience really enjoyable. She also met us where we were--not trying to force an overly complicated dance on us and really listened to what we wanted. Was convenient, and definitely affordable. Also loved her flexibility in scheduling the sessions. 12/10!

Nicole was amazing! Me and my husband both have two left feet and she made the process of learning a dance for our wedding fun and easy. It was a breeze to schedule sessions around our busy schedule and we only needed 3 sessions. I would highly recommend working with her.

My new husband and I had a blast with Nikki! We had a dance lesson with her at our wedding venue about a month before our big day and it was wonderful. I personally hate it when I see couples who took dance lessons do things like fox-trot for their first dance or look to rehearsed. That was not the experience with Nikki at all. She made us feel really comfortable and just showed us some fun moves we could incorporate that were coordinated to our first dance song. My husband actually wants us to take another lesson with her just because we had so much fun.

Nikki did a fantastic job choreographing our first dance song! My husband and I are definitely not dancers, but one lesson with basic steps and a few fun add-ins, and we were getting compliments from our guests on the dance. Nikki made it fun and easy and we definitely recommend her!

Nikki was such a pleasure to work with. She came over to our home and was the sweetest. She made us feel comfortable and choreographed a dance we could easily remember and felt comfortable doing. Nikki is incredible! My husband and I worked with her to choreograph our first dance. Both of us were a bit nervous and weren't really sure what to expect, but she is so down to earth and laid back. You feel so relaxed around her-- it is like learning from a close friend vs. a stranger you just met. She works with you step-by-step to figure out which moves would work best with your song. She is creative and flexible and makes adjustments based on your comfort zone. I wish we had an opportunity to do another choreographed dance, just so we could work with her again. Nikki is absolutely lovely and fun to be around. I highly recommend her!

Nikki was warm and friendly from the moment we met her. I was a bit nervous about the whole thing since while my wife is a good dancer, I have two left feet! Nikki was able to quickly grasp what we wanted, assess our dancing skills, and make us look our best! She made the whole thing easy and convenient. Highly recommend!

Since the first moment I met Nikki in a dance class I loved her energy, empathy and incredibly good vibe. I knew she would be the best to help my husband and I with our wedding first dance, in particular because my husband was a terrible dancer and didn't really enjoy it. And let me tell you, I was right. The process was so easy, funny, professional and so well organized. She taught us step by step and make it much more enjoyable than I could have imagined. Even my husband loved the classes, thinks Nikki is amazing, and now even enjoys dancing! I highly recommend Nikki if you want to enjoy your dancing classes and impress everyone on your wedding night.

Nicki was amazing to work with. We told her the style we wanted and she did an amazing job choreographing a dance that fit us perfectly. We told her neither of us were dancers and she created a routine that was not only simple, but looked complex with lots of spins/dips/moves that made it look like we had been practicing for months. The surprise dance for our guests was the highlight of our wedding! Can't recommend her enough!
