Puttin' on the Hitz

We had a wonderful experience working with Puttin on the Hitz! The evening was guided by Michael and our guests never had to guess what was going on. He chose such a fun variety of music and listened to our (many) requests from guests 😂 would highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed and you won’t need to worry about a thing all night.

Puttin' on the Hitz was great -- Michael made sure to communicate with us when he needed too, kept track of all the details, played exactly the songs we wanted, rolled with some last-minute changes, and even made sure he got the names of the wedding party correct. He worked with our venue and made everything easy for us, highly recommended!

Michael Scott with Puttin' on the Hitz was the perfect choice to DJ our recent wedding. Michael is incredibly kind, responsive, and just all around great at what he does! He made sure to keep the dance floor full at all times, and our guests continue to rave about the music/fun atmosphere he provided. Michael was so professional and personable! I was nervous about booking a Dj. I wasn’t fully familiar with due to working in the Wedding industry But I took a chance and they absolutely knocked it out of the park. Every detail Was exactly what we talked about and he was so helpful to make the night move smooth.

Puttin’ on the Hitz and our DJ, Michael Scott, did an absolutely fantastic job every step of the way. Early on in the process, Michael was very communicative and helped us select all the services we wanted while staying within our budget. Closer to the wedding, Michael provided great insight into how the reception should flow and how we should schedule entrances / speeches / dances to create the best night for our guests. Everything went off without a hitch on our wedding day, and all of our guests loved the music. Michael played a huge role in making our special day as amazing as it was, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Michael Scott from Puttin' on the Hitz was such an amazing DJ for our wedding in West Des Moines. He was so easy to work with and make the night run seamlessly, he truly made the whole night run smoothly and followed our timeline helping to keep everything on schedule. He made the night so much fun by playing the perfect mix of music for our dance floor as well as providing some music during happy hour and dinner. Everything he did was exactly what we had hoped for for our wedding and the night wouldn't have been the same without him! We had DJ Puttin' on the Hitz, specifically Josh Westbrook of their available DJs, emcee and DJ our wedding. We were so happy with their service leading up to the wedding and could not have asked for a better DJ during the wedding. We have had several guests tell us it was one of the best receptions that they have been to & the dance floor was packed all night long!

We were so impressed with Micheal's day of presence throughout our wedding day. He did a marvelous job in ensuring he was executing our vision and did so in a way that allowed us to let him take the reins. His prep work allowed him to be an independent partner, while ensuring he aligned with what we envisioned for our day. We couldn't have asked for a better partner!!

Michael was very flexible with all of our ideas, and made owned the night! We didn't have to think about anything when it came to timing or production!

Puttin' on the Hitz is a great vendor. They were punctual, got back to us consistently, and respected and worked around our budget and needs. The communication between us and our DJ was effective. We knew exactly what everything cost and the information sheet we filled out was easy to do. The process of choosing songs was pretty seamless. During the wedding, Michael was great at getting the guests to join in on the dancefloor. He also helped us a lot with the announcements, the ceremony music, and the shoe game. Overall, the experience was great and we highly recommend this business.

Michael did an awesome job at our wedding reception last month. We had a variety of ages at our party, so I was worried about finding music that would appeal to all guests. He did a great job of keeping people dancing while also incorporating our guests' song requests. We appreciated the online planning tool and the phone call we had with him prior to our event to sort out logistics and discuss details. Michael from Puttin' on the Hitz was wonderful and we would recommend him to anyone! He did a great job keeping guests on the dance floor ALL night. Michael was also great to work with throughout the process from booking to going over details and the day of. We had a couple specific announcements (parking, dessert service, etc) that we asked him to make and he did so timely and thoughtfully to keep guests informed and having fun! In my opinion, who you choose for your DJ will set the tone of your reception and we would choose him again in a heartbeat!

Puttin’ on the Hitz is the best DJ!! They did my sisters wedding 10 years and did fantastic! We’d dreamed of having them do my wedding as well ever since then. Now they have and did not disappoint! The dance floor was bumping all night and created such a good atmosphere! They did an amazing job and were so easy to work with! Highly recommend!

This DJ was used at a friend's wedding ~10 years ago and we were thrilled to see that he's still in business. We had to postpone our wedding once due to COVID restrictions and Michael from Puttin on the Hitz stayed with us through all the chaos of rescheduling. His communication with us was always proactive and timely and straightforward. He never had me worrying about what to expect. The tunes he played were FANTASTIC, and exactly what we wanted. He was also super flexible when I asked him at the last minute to do something extra (provide sound for the outdoor ceremony when our other sound system fell through). He was so flexible and provided us with everything we needed. He's so professional, fun, and entertaining. My mom even raved about how easily he could be understood when he announced the wedding party entrance! This guy knows how to DJ. HIGHLY recommend all around.

Michael made our reception into one of the most fun nights of our lives. Our friends and family, young and old, all were dancing and signing along with the music. He also did a wonderful job with the audio for the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. I would highly recommend him and his company for any and all private events!

Michael Scott scheduled a phone call with me a few weeks before our wedding. He was so helpful and shared so much knowledge! We wanted to do a DJ/Photographer challenge which was new to Michael and it was such a hit!! He was quick with emails, flexible with changes and just wanted us to have the best night!

Mike is such an amazing DJ! After reading other reviews and booking with Puttin On the Hitz, communication was foremost; anytime we had a question or concern the company was promptly responsive. The company has years of experience and is flexible within choice of venue, indoor and outdoor. Mike met us at our venue for a walk through, to ensure (my anxiety) about sound checks were put to ease. About a month before our wedding and final "itineraries" were made, DJ had all the relevant points covered: when the first dance was, who was making a speech etc. He announced everything happening, guiding guests throughout the night. The price is extremely reasonable & the music set the perfect tone for all the moments on our special day! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

My wife and I love to dance. Are we particularly good? No. Do we have a good time flailing about to good music? Oh yea. It does depend on the vibe and playlist of course on how long our dancing shoes stay on. Puttin' on the Hitz kept the vibe good through the entire night. I've never had so many people say they've never seen a dance floor so continually packed at a wedding. Thank you Ryan and Michael!

Michael Scott was excellent. He was professional, personable, and fun to work with. He did not miss beat during the ceremony, playing beautiful welcome music and hitting all of the ceremony songs. He was able to keep the reception party going with songs that appealed to a wide range of ages. 100/10 would recommend!

Putting’ on the Hitz provided an excellent DJ service for our wedding reception. They were timely, responsive, flexible, and professional. Additionally, the assortment of music played was great and all requested songs throughout the night were played.

Michael did an excellent job. The background music for arrival/dinner was at an appropriate volume for the venue. His ability to communicate with us regarding coordination and keep the night moving along was great. He did an awesome job keeping everyone engaged. Finally, Michael's personality and approach are something I have not seen much. You can definitely tell he enjoys putting on a party, dancing to the music, and having a good time. I highly recommend Puttin' on the Hitz and will have them in my back pocket for future events!

The music during dinner was perfect. The dance was loads of fun with a variety of music played and they stuck to the list we had provided. Everyone had a wonderful time! Michael was AMAZING to work with! He kept the party going and did an awesome job with song requests. On his website he offers song advice for each aspect of the wedding, which we found to be very helpful and a nice touch. About a week prior to the wedding, we had a phone call with Michael to discuss all logistics for the wedding day including song choices and timeline. Michael was so helpful and thorough during this process that my husband and I were fully able to relax and trust he was going to do a great job! We highly recommend Michael for your wedding DJ!

No one plans to get married during a pandemic but despite all that we had the best time at our reception because of our DJ! They were a great price, fun and flexible we can’t recommend them enough!
