R. Russett Photography

A few months ago we got our maternity photos done with Rebecca Leann Russett who owns R. Russett Photography. I have been meaning to post a review for sometime now but with a new baby I haven't really had the time. Today I tried to post my review on her facebook page but I was blocked from doing so. If I am blocked from Reviewing there who knows how many others are as well. I had little to no communication with Rebecca pretty much the entire process. When trying to plan for the shoot, I messaged her and asked about her Maternity dresses she had. I had to basically beg for pictures of the dresses which she said she would send but all I got was a description of the dresses. So I asked for pictures of them yet again and finally received them. Which is very frustrating and you feel like you're bothering the person you hired which should never be an issue. At the actual shoot if I didn't throw out ideas for poses we would have basically just been standing in one position the whole time with different backgrounds. ( Which I have had other people complain about as well with her) She kept asking us if we had any ideas for poses. You could tell she felt uncomfortable being in control and giving direction. Then the Photos: I feel like most of them look like a filter was applied and maybe a few touch ups here and there. In the maternity dress there is a huge lump in the majority of my photos because I had a shirt on that she provided to make it not so sheer. We did some belly shots and I was told to roll it up. I noticed it was very lumpy and I asked if I should just take it off and she told me it was fine that she could edit it out. Which was not done. I also messaged her about the photos being grainy and somewhat blurry, almost as if the whole session was shot out of focus. She told me it had to be something on my end and to look from another device. She never once checked back with me to see if I was satisfied with her work. We were promised a USB which took over a month to get after the photos were published. The USB got "lost" several times in the mail from usps and she conveniently couldn't find the tracking numbers from the 2 times she sent it. She told me if I hadn't received it by Saturday then she would hand deliver it to my door Sunday morning by 10 A.M. I think was the time. Well that never happened either. She instead sent me a photo of the receipt from USPS showing she had sent it by mail and had tracking. Imagine this, IT DIDN'T GET LOST IN THE MAIL! 3rd time is a charm right?! The whole process was such a huge disappointment. This was meant to be a happy time in our lives and I can never have the chance to re do the photos. I wanted so badly to be able to print them out and display them in our home and I don't even want to do that.
