My husband and I were looking for a photographer for our Engagement Pictures and Wedding Day when I came across R. Yamada Photography while searching online through a number of different profiles. The thing that struck me most about Ryan's photos was how natural and 'in the moment' each picture felt and that was something that was really important to me. I reached out to Ryan and we set up a time to meet. Ryan was awesome from Day 1, he took a genuine interest in us as a couple- we got to know each other, saw some of his work, and explored different options that would make the experience even more personal to us. Together we came up with a plan for our pictures- I was 100% convinced I wanted R.Yamada to be our photographer and I'm even happier today. Throughout our Engagement and on our Wedding, Ryan was so attentive. It's easy to feel comfortable around him, like you're just hanging out with a friend. My family, wedding party, and guests have all commented on how impressed they were with our photographer and how much fun they had taking pictures. Ryan has such a creative vision and his photos, to me, are so unique in their beauty. We had pictures taken outside on a sunny day and later at sunset for our engagement. On our wedding there were outside pictures on a cloudy day, and in the venue for the reception. Both sessions we had pictures taken in our home as well. Ryan used each setting/scenery and little details to truly make you feel like you were right there in the picture again- the color, vibe, tone, everything. Somehow, Ryan is able to capture just the right moment - he's patient and innovative. Because we couldn't do sunset pictures on our wedding day due to rain, Ryan had such a cool idea to do pictures on the balcony. The smoky/foggy feel of the pictures is so romantic and something I've never seen before. There is so much detail in his work and I could stare at one picture forever. After each session, we went through the pictures together and each time we were completely blown away. I completely trusted R.Yamada for our engagement and wedding pictures and I would recommend him a million times over. These pictures document the best day of our lives and I can confidentially say he captured everything I wanted and more. Ryan goes above and beyond my expectations for a photographer.

Ryan Yamada was amazing! We worked with him for both our engagement and wedding photography. Not only did his photos turn out great, but he also made us feel completely at ease on our big day. Because of how professional Ryan was, we received compliments from many of our wedding guests. They even bugged us for copies of the photos almost immediately... Regarding his photography style, we love his use of colors and photojournalism. His shots conveyed a natural feel of the day, capturing our intimate moments, rather than just posed photos. Ryan didn't make us feel like were rigidly posing for the perfect shot, but instead took pictures as the day naturally progressed. Even in posed group photos, he brought out everyone's personality and mood. That, along with our photos' vibrant colors and smooth contrasts, made Ryan's services worth every penny. We couldn't be happier with the results and will treasure our wedding photos forever.

Ryan is the most genuine person and a brilliant photographer. He is professional, fun, honest, and has a way of capturing the human spirit - people's true essence in his work. It's like he captures their HEARTS. I love that he only books one wedding per weekend and is a thousand percent focused on and devoted the event at hand. I can't wait to use him for my own wedding *someday*!
