About this vendor
Congratulations and Mazel Tov! I am happy to officiate at your joyous celebration. As a Humanistic rabbi, I create personalized and meaningful Humanistic ceremonies for all needs: Jewish, secular, intercultural/interfaith, same-sex, even co-officiated. It would be my privilege to take part in your special day.
Together we can create a personalized wedding ceremony, including what you want and avoiding what you don’t. I never forces a pre-written ceremony template on wedding couples; instead I help them to make their own choices for their ceremony.
Weddings can be any day and time a couple wants it to be (subject to my availability). Wedding couples can schedule their ceremony any time during the day on Saturday/Shabbat, regardless of when sundown may be. The same is true for traditional Jewish ceremony “blackout dates” through the summer and minor Jewish holidays.
Humanistic Judaism has always joyfully celebrated interfaith and intercultural marriages, respecting the diverse backgrounds and culture of each partner. Meaningful and relevant rituals and/or symbols from both family backgrounds are often incorporated into the ceremony, as the couple chooses. All Hebrew is instantly translated (to be honest, plenty of the Jews attending may not know what it means either!).
Humanistic Judaism has always recognized the right to freely choose one’s marriage partners. I am very happy to celebrate same-sex weddings with just as much joy and enthusiasm as every wedding.
I am also happy to co-officiate with other clergy, provided that together they create a balanced ceremony with inclusive language (all Hebrew translated, non-Jewish clergy use generic “God” rather than “Jesus Christ”). I am very capable in French, Spanish and Hebrew (and passable in Yiddish) and can include elements of any of these languages in the ceremony in readings, ketubah (marriage agreement) texts, vows and/or blessings.
I have officiated weddings for over 25 years, and they are one of my favorite things to do - people want to be happy, I get to help them be happy! I hope I can celebrate with you on your special day.

From the beginning of the planning process, he helped give us a framework (which he suggested we could tweak as we wanted) and also accommodated all of our different ideas that reflected our personalities/families/cultural backgrounds. is process was so special. He was so helpful every step of the way as we put together a ceremony that represented who we are and what we believe as queer, secular Jews. We feel so lucky to have had Adam with us for the most beautiful moment of our lives, and we cannot recommend him highly enough!

ral traditions and secular beliefs. Rabbi Chalom is kind, compassionate, and truly passionate about bringing together different faiths and cultures in meaningful ways. He listened to our wants throughout our consultation sessions and collaborated with our Reverend to create a beautiful, intercultural Jewish-Mexican ceremony. He was dedicated to carefully integrating both Jewish and Mexican traditions (the tallis, las arras and el lazo, breaking of the glass etc). Best of all, he is trilingual! His integration of these important customs and his ability to switch between languages was absolutely seamless. We cannot recommend Rabbi Chalom enough!
