I had the pleasure of seeing Rabbi Kaplan in action at 2 different weddings before I myself was engaged. One of the wedding ceremonies even had both the rabbi and a priest officiating the ceremony. I can’t say I’ve ever gone to a wedding and left thinking about how great the rabbi was until I witnessed Rabbi Kaplan in action. At both weddings he effortless came across as charismatic, funny, laid back, and I knew I wanted him for my own wedding ceremony. We are not religious at all so we did not want a very religious or traditional ceremony and Rabbi Kaplan had no problem personalizing the ceremony to best reflect us as a couple. We originally booked Rabbi Kaplan to officiate our wedding on Saturday March 28th, 2020 however due to the coronavirus pandemic everything shut down 2 weeks before our date we had to move the wedding date to November 6th, 2020 (a Friday). I was worried that Rabbi Kaplan would not be able to provide his services now that the wedding was on a Friday evening (Shabbat) but he told us that since we were going through so much rescheduling the event and trying to coordinate with all the vendors to find a new date that worked for everyone, he was willing to make an exception and still be the officiant for our wedding despite it being on a Friday before sundown. He also helped us immensely when we were having difficulty obtaining our marriage license due to limited available appointments at our local courthouses (no walk ins allowed). On the day of our wedding Rabbi Kaplan was so warm and welcoming and his demeanor instantly made all the guests (and the groom and I) so comfortable and relaxed. Multiple guests came up to me after the service raving about how personable and down to earth our rabbi was. In all honesty he rocked our wedding ceremony! We could not be happier with how smooth and effortless he made everything feel. Hiring Rabbi Kaplan to officiate our wedding was hands down one of the easiest and best decisions we made throughout the entire wedding planning process. I have yet to see anyone do a better job than him. With all the decisions that need to be made in the wedding planning process, this is one that is a no-brainer. Do yourself a favor and book Rabbi Kaplan for your wedding ASAP!!! There is no possible way you will be disappointed!!
We used Rabbi Kaplan for our wedding in May 2024. We live in NY and wanted to get married in Florida, so we weren't connected to any Rabbi. We reached out in Florida facebook groups and he came highly recommended by many. We spoke to a few rabbis and chose to go with Rabbi Kaplan since he made us feel the most comfortable, he was super accommodating and cooperative. We loved his vibe and the love we felt through the phone without ever meeting him prior. We felt like we knew each other him for years - that’s the type of guy he is.
Throughout the process, he checked in with us and kept us informed with all the steps we had to take before the wedding. He was also super accommodating with any requests we had to make our ceremony be the way we pictured. We felt comfortable to share our wants/the flavor we wanted without feeling judgement (felt judged from other Rabbis about our wishes/thoughts).
And then on the wedding day, he was absolutely incredible. Our ketubah signing was beautiful - explained the religious aspect behind it but explained it in a way we understood and kept it light and simple. Our ceremony was everything we wanted - beautiful, loving, warm, and to the point. We did our own personal vows with the traditional vows. He was super supportive of that and since that was going to take up a good amount of time of the ceremony, he kept the other parts short and sweet. We couldn’t recommend him enough! Everyone told us how beautiful our ceremony was and we give a lot of that credit to Rabbi Kaplan - he truly set that stage. And we are proud to say we plan to keep a relationship with him post our wedding.
If your questioning who to use, we would recommend setting up a time to meet with him and then you will understood why we chose him! His love and care radiates when you meet him!
Rabbi Kaplan married my husband and I in June 2024 at The Addison in Boca Raton, FL. My husband is Jewish and I am not, but it was incredibly important to have a Jewish ceremony. It was equally important to me to ensure that the ceremony was inclusive and meaningful for my family and others not as familiar with the ceremony. Rabbi Kaplan was so wonderful in talking to us, hearing out my wishes and getting to know us as a couple. He is extremely personable and he made us feel at ease in our final preparation and on our wedding day. He remained focus on a ceremony that highlighted universal values and relatable interpretation. He made us laugh and coached us through the moments in the ceremony where our nerves got the best of us. Our guests were equally impressed with the ease of his ceremony and how relatable the vows and commitments we made in the context of the Jewish faith.

We couldn't have asked for a better Rabbi to officiate our wedding! He made our ceremony incredibly personal and beautifully explained all the Jewish traditions, making everyone feel included. During the planning process, he took the time to go through each tradition with us, offering options to incorporate them in either a fully traditional way or with a modern twist that suited our style. He was an absolute pleasure to work with, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. We are so grateful for his warmth, guidance, and the special touch he brought to our day!

Rabbi Kaplan was an amazing and an unforgettable officiant for our wedding. He was funny, charismatic, and took the time beforehand to meet with bride & groom to go over their wants to tailor the ceremony for the couple. If you are having an interfaith ceremony in south Florida, I highly suggest using Rabbi Kaplan. He explains the meaning behind everything in English for everyone to understand, while also restating in Hebrew and relying on Jewish traditions and prayer.

Rabbi Kaplan helped facilitate our interfaith marriage. He was extremely understanding of both cultures and made sure to incorporate as much of the Jewish marriage ceremony components that we requested. He translated the Hebrew and explained the Jewish traditions to those who were unfamiliar. Highly recommend for interfaith and Jewish marriages. Rabbi Kaplan is the best in the game! He made our ceremony beyond special and enjoyable for all guests. We hired Rabbi Kaplan for our March 2022 wedding and he was absolutely incredible. During the planning process, he was responsive and diligent about gathering important details about our family, backgrounds, faith, etc. so he could provide a customized ceremony. We genuinely enjoyed our preparatory Zoom calls with him and he made us feel comfortable throughout the process of working together - a true feat given we were planning a destination wedding during Covid.
On our wedding day, he really delivered. He was extremely professional, punctual and his experience as a wedding officiant was so clear. He was attentive to every detail - making sure I had my bouquet at the right times, knowing where the photographers were, etc. He kept all of guests, Jewish and not, engaged in the ceremony. He delivered a beautiful ceremony that was just the right mix of humorous and emotional, that honored both our families and traditions and made everyone feel included. So many of our guests made a point to let us know how much they enjoyed the ceremony and how truly funny and warm the Rabbi was. We can’t recommend him enough and we are so, so happy Rabbi Kaplan was part of this day for us.

Rabbi Kaplan did a phenomenal job at our wedding in June. We had an interfaith wedding with Rabbi Kaplan and Father Michael Calderin, and they both made our ceremony very special. Dealing with covid, Rabbi Kaplan was extremely accomidating to our date changes. He worked with us over zoom to guide us with our ketubah texts and walked us through the ceremony. Rabbi Kaplan did a beautiful job performing the Jewish portion of the ceremony and helped make easy transitions to the Catholic component so that it flowed well. We hired Rabbi Kaplan for our ceremony and we are so happy we did! He's so communicative/responsive, thorough with info needed for the ketubah and the ceremony, and he's funny! He explains the traditions so nicely during the ceremony, many friends/family commented how much they loved our rabbi and how they learned new things during our Livestream. Rabbi Kaplan even helped out when my veil was wrapped around my fiance under the chuppah lol! Parents loved him too!
Rabbi Kaplan was so amazing! My husband is Catholic and I am Jewish and he performed such a beautiful and inclusive interfaith wedding for us! My husbands family was worried at first when we told them we hired a Rabbi to marry us, but following the wedding ceremony they could not stop talking about how great he was! He explained everything that was incorporated into our wedding that those who are not Jewish would not typically understand right off the bat. He was amazing and I totally recommended to anyone looking!

We cannot thank and recommend Rabbi Kaplan enough for performing such a beautiful, meaningful and personalized ceremony! We got married on 7/26 and had a small interfaith wedding. I am Jewish but my husband and his family are not. Since we first met, we automatically felt a connection and we both felt so comfortable with him! He made the ceremony personal to us and our different backgrounds. He even did a special prayer for my husband's father who passed away a couple of years ago. All of the guests from different backgrounds and religions had wonderful things to say about him. He made the ceremony fun and interesting. Everyone was talking about the ceremony the next day. He said something along the lines that during a time like this, we must cherish every moment and live life to the fullest. That is something that was definitely remembered! We loved every moment! We cant praise Rabbi Kaplan enough. From the beginning he was warm, friendly, and personable and it felt like we had known him forever. He was incredibly sensitive and respectful to the fact that one of us was Jewish and one was atheist and ensured he created a ceremony that was comfortable for both. On top of that he didn't flinch or get frustrated when our 1.5 year old daughter decided she would stand under the chuppah with us - instead he made the most of it and welcomed her and made the best of it! We cant recommend him enough. You will not be disappointed.

Rabbi Kaplan is truly an amazing Rabbi! We had a traditional Jewish wedding with some modern customs. The crowd was a mix of religions, and Rabbi Kaplan had a graceful way in explaining Jewish traditions while making the room feel comfortable, regardless of religion. We met with him a few times (we live out of state), and he was always generous with his time and made us feel special. Rabbi Kaplan has a lovely cadence in how he speaks, which gave our ceremony the right amount of gravity in balancing emotion, religion, and family. He led a wonderful ceremony and it was unique and tailored for us. We are forever grateful to of had him as our Rabbi for our wedding!
I was at my cousins Bar Mitzvah over a year ago and one of the things that stood out to me the most was his rabbi during the service. He was beyond personable and lighthearted and made the ceremony feel heartfelt and special. It was right before I proposed to my now wife and Rabbi Kaplan stuck in my head. Fortunately after we were engaged I reached out to him and he had our date available. From my initial phone conversation I knew we had found our Rabbi. Right at the start, Rabbi Kaplan took a special interest in our wedding and really made an effort to learn about me and my wife down to the smallest details of our relationship so he could cater and customize the most amazing service for us. He was always available for advice by phone and email and always replied promptly. He was extremely helpful from picking every detail on our Ketubah all the way down to the kiddish cup we ended up using. He also provided us with great advice on Jewish marriage and the jewish household when we met with him on numerous occasions. The day of the wedding during the Ketubah signing, Rabbi Kaplan left us with some beautiful words and helped keep our nerves under control. The service was beyond beautiful and he spoke so incredibly about us and our relationship and kept the service lighthearted and warm. He explained all of the jewish rituals to our guests as we had many non jewish guests and made everyone feel comfortable in the holy wedding environment. Everyone at the wedding loved his service and had people including me and my wife in happy tears during the service. I would recommend him to any jewish couple getting married looking for the hippest and best Rabbi in South Florida. Rabbi Kaplan made our wedding so incredible and amazing and we are so grateful to have had him for our wedding. If I could give him 100 stars I would!

I was raised catholic and my husband, Jewish. Both sides of the family did not feel excluded. They thought the descriptions of the traditional Jewish pieces was beautiful.
Rabbi Kapplan was fabulous! From the moment we met him, we knew we were in good hands. We had met with other rabbis, but he was genuinely interested in us as a couple and making the experience personalized. His energy during the ceremony was upbeat, informative and confident. It set the perfect tone for our whole day!
We are in love with Rabbi Kaplan! My now husband, as of Saturday (3/10/18) is Jamaican American and grew up Catholic/ Christian. My family is Jewish. Talk about an interfaith, interracial, multicultural wedding. Piece of cake for this wonderful man. Rabbi Kaplan welcomed us into his home for our initial meet and greet. We instantly felt a connection to him. During our wedding ceremony, he explained many of the traditions and the religious significance of the ceremony elements. Rabbi Kaplan inserted his great humor which out all of the non-Jewish guests at ease. After the ceremony, so many of our guests sought out my parents to let them know how much they enjoyed the wedding ceremony. I would whole- heartedly recommend whether you are both Jewish or not to meet and greet Rabbi Kaplan. I know you will fall in love with him as we did!
My husband and I had Rabbi Kaplan officiate our wedding and couldn't be more pleased. I would definitely recommend him to anyone with an interfaith marriage. He spoke beautifully and we couldn't be more pleased.
There is nobody like Rabbi Jonathan Kaplan! If we could give more stars we would! He made our ceremony funny, romantic, personal, and incredible. He is extremely well spoken and professional. He responds back to emails and phone calls right away, even after hours which nobody does. Rabbi Kaplan was warm and personable from the first day we met him. He officiated our interfaith ceremony perfectly so that guests of both faiths could understand the traditions and symbolism of the ceremony. He was also very efficient with the signing of the Katubah and the ceremony itself. Our guests could not stop telling us what a beautiful ceremony we had!
Rabbi Kaplan was fantastic! He performed our interfaith marriage at Four Seasons on Brickell on 11/12/2017. This was the second wedding for both of us, and our experience with Rabbi Kaplan was flawless from the moment we met. He was so professional, thoughtful, warm, funny and loving! He is also extremely organized which made the entire wedding planning even easier! Even during an unexpected rainstorm right in the middle of our ceremony, he made the entire experience enjoyable and heartful for us, and for everyone who attended the ceremony! He was so thoughtful about respecting both of our religions, and lovingly incorporating our children (8 in total) into our ceremony! There wasn't a request that we made that he didn't honor, and he exceeded our expectations. We loved working with Rabbi Kaplan and highly recommend him, not just for a wedding, but for any occasion! Rabbi Kaplan was not only a joy to work with but a joy to get to know. My husband and I spent quality time with Rabbi Kaplan over 7 months before our wedding and I really think it served to provide for a personal and heartfelt ceremony. The ceremony was so personal, inclusive, and most of all US. Rabbi Kaplan works to incorporate elements of the couple into the ceremony to really provide for a unique and once in a lifetime experience. My wedding day was the best day of my life but it was even better when all of our guests gushed over how amazing the ceremony was. I would recommend Rabbi Kaplan for your officiant as he is kind, personal, and extremely warm. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Rabbi Kaplan did a wonderful job at our wedding last month. He struck the perfect balance of sincerity and humor. From the ketubah signing until the breaking of the glass, he maintained the perfect mood. That included keeping us, the bride and groom, calm throughout.
He also ensured all the traditions and symbolic acts were accessible to guests who may not be familiar with Jewish marriage customs. He did a fantastic job of explaining the chuppah, blessings, ceremonial wine and other wedding facets so that everyone could appreciate the ceremony. Even our non-Jewish guests commented on how beautiful it was.
To prepare for the wedding, we met Rabbi Kaplan at his home office and discussed our relationship at length. We then completed a questionnaire, which he used to personalize our service. He also followed up via phone a few weeks before the wedding to invite us to ask him any last-minute questions. His services also included a beautiful ketubah. We can’t recommend Rabbi Kaplan enough.

To start things off, my fiance, now husband and I had a difficult time finding a Rabbi who would officiate our Friday night (Shabbat) wedding. It was by luck we found Rabbi Kaplan!
From the moment we met Rabbi Kaplan, we knew he was the one. He was so easy to talk too and had such a great personality. He asked us the basic questions on how we met, etc but what blew us away was after our meeting, he emailed us a questionnaire to get to know us better. We appreciated how he took the time to really get to know us.
On the day of our wedding, Rabbi brought tears to our eyes, happy tears. He spoke like he'd known us our whole lives and even our guest spoke highly of him. The ceremony was short and sweet which was exactly what we wanted.
We would highly recommend Rabbi Kaplan! He is easy to work with, great personality and has a very fair price. If we could do it again, we would and choose him without question!

My husband and I recently used Rabbi Kaplan for our wedding. He took the time to get to know us prior to the wedding and was very accomodating given that we both came from different religious backgrounds. On the day of the wedding he kept the mood light and fun. He was very good at improvising when things didn't go exactly as planned. Everyone kept asking us how long we had known him as he made the ceremony feel so intimate and personal. I would highly recommend Rabbi Kaplan and would love him to preside over future ceremonies for our family.

My husband and I live in DC and planning a wedding out of state is tough enough. We were worried about finding a rabbi as we had no connections or anyone we knew in Florida. All our worries went away after reading all the reviews and speaking to Rabbi Kaplan on the phone. Even though our initial meeting was over the phone we felt so comfortable and at ease to have Rabbi Kaplan marry us. He continued to exceed our expectations and the reviews we read. After meeting in person, we couldn't be more excited for the day. Rabbi Kaplan genuinely wanted to get to know US and what was important to us. We absolutely LOVED working with Rabbi Kaplan! From our first meeting in his home office to the wedding ceremony, everything ran smoothly and was absolutely perfect. He is extremely responsive, friendly, and was able to incorporate our families into different aspects of the wedding ceremony beautifully. We received so many compliments on both the ketubah ceremony and wedding ceremony, with the general theme being that Rabbi Kaplan explains the aspects of a Jewish wedding beautifully while still making it personal and emotional. My grandpa couldn't travel for the wedding but was FaceTimed in for the ceremony. Rabbi Kaplan mentioned him several times and checked in to make sure he was still there. This was touching to everyone and just one example of how comfortable he made our wedding!
Rabbi Kaplan is truly one of a kind. Our interfaith marriage was so special and he helped us navigate through all the things that were important to us. He listened to what we wanted and how important it was to blend both of our faiths and families. Rabbi Jonathan did a wonderful job at our ceremony. Finding a Rabbi who will marry an interfaith couple is not always easy. It used to be much harder when my own mom and dad did it. Even more challenging is perhaps finding one that will not only marry an interfaith couple but do so in a co-celebrated manner (both Christian and Jewish in the same ceremony). Hats off the Rabbi Jonathan, he took the time to meet with us, learn about our relationship, and delivered a wonderful service that was meaningful, loving, and humorous. Rabbi Jonathan Kaplan officiated at our interfaith/Jewish wedding this past weekend. He is simply the best! He was always available to meet with us or talk with us by phone in the weeks leading up to our wedding. His service was warm, relaxed and truly memorable for everyone. Many of our guests had never been to a Jewish wedding before. Rabbi Kaplan explained the significance of each part of the ceremony. Throughout the night following the ceremony and for days after, our guests told us how much they enjoyed Rabbi Kaplan's service and their appreciation for the explanations he provided which gave everything meaning to them.
