Rabbi Larry performed our wedding ceremony on 9/21/19! He was absolutely FABULOUS and everyone raved about him afterward. We had more family and friends come up to us and ask us about him than anything else! Jewish and non-Jewish alike, loved him! People were so happy with the way he explained everything and made it fun. There was lots of laughter and jokes. He was great to work with leading up to the wedding as well, and we are so happy we hired Rabbi Larry!
Rabbi Sernovitz did a fantastic job as our officiant. He spent the time to get to know both of us as individuals and as a unique couple. His personalizations during the service made for a very touching ceremony.
He also did a great job in our pre-marriage counseling sessions. Some of the lessons he pointed out have continued to play a positive role in our marriage.
We received lots of comments from guests who thought the service was meaningful and personal.
Thanks Rabbi Larry!
Several of our guests - who have been to their fair share of weddings - told us we had had the "best rabbi ever." They're absolutely right! Larry was the best Jewish wedding sherpa we could have hoped for — a friendly guide us through the process, listening and reacting to our needs and preferences (even when we didn't know exactly what they were ourselves!) and helping us feel as comfortable as possible on the big day. I couldn't imagine anyone doing a better job!
As a born Catholic, this was my first experience and Judaism and a Rabbi. Rabbi Larry was easy to talk to during our sessions, provided good insights, accommodated my wife’s requests for the ceremony and worked with the fact that we lived in Boston while he was down by our wedding in Philly. While all of our conversations where great, we didn’t always get immediate responses to emails and our sessions were occasionally pushed back to later in the evening at his request. I don’t plan to get married again, but if I did (and she was Jewish) he’d be my first call
Having Rabbi Larry (Sernovitz) officiate our wedding was one of the best decisions that we could have made. I cannot overstate the impact that Rabbi Larry had on me, my wife, and our guests. Candidly speaking, my wife and I were (and still are) unaffiliated, non-observant, cultural Jews who were more concerned with the reception than the ceremony. However, we witnessed firsthand how -- if done correctly -- the ceremony can be just as impactful and engaging as the reception.
Rabbi Larry is a master at connecting on a human and emotional level, and because of that, our ceremony was a truly special moment. Rabbi Larry's words and candor set the stage for what can only be described as emotionally-immersive and spiritually-engaging. He was able to tailor the ceremony to celebrate my wife and I as a couple, and by doing so, he maximized the emotional and spiritual connection(s) felt be everyone in attendance.
Half of our guests were not Jewish, and it made no difference whatsoever. It was relevant, reenergized and inclusive, while maintaining the beauty and ritual of a traditional Jewish wedding. Rabbi Larry artfully integrated Jewish values, history, and tradition in an accessible, intimate, and universally-inspiring way. Honestly, Rabbi Larry exceeded expectations that we didn't know we had. During the ceremony, I felt more love and support all at once than I ever had in my entire life, and Rabbi Larry was instrumental in creating the space and the moment for that to take place. It was perfect for us. People were in disbelief upon learning that my wife and I had only met Rabbi Larry a few months prior to the wedding.
As a spiritual leader and counsel, Rabbi Larry has as much integrity as anyone I've ever met. He's compassionate, super-cool, non-judgmental, honest, curious, direct, humble and supportive. Over the course of getting to know Larry, he provided a safe space free of judgment and full of actionable and practical insight. One of my favorite things about Rabbi Larry is that he has skin in the game. I say this because it was obvious to us and everyone that he cared about our wedding. From the first meeting to the final meeting, Rabbi Larry was thorough, thoughtful, and patient.
I didn’t know this until after the fact, but the ceremony matters. The officiant matters. It never occurred to me that the ceremony can set the tone for the reception, but it’s so obvious to me that it does. If the wedding is kicked off right, those feelings of love and support remain palpable throughout the night.
TL/DR: Our wedding was better because of Rabbi Larry and yours will be, too. I would 10/10 recommend Rabbi Larry to family, friends, or anyone.
Rabbi Larry set the tone for our entire wedding and made our ceremony one to remember. The feedback from the guests was consistent - everyone was in tears as they were so moved by the ceremony and so many people asked us for his contact information afterward to recommend to whomever they knew getting married next. Rabbi Larry's ceremony was THAT special. Several reasons why Rabbi Larry was the best choice for us - he scheduled multiple facetime sessions with us in the months leading up to the wedding to really get to know us, which lead to an incredibly personalized ceremony. He was flexible and let us customize the ceremony and the traditions we wanted to incorporate - he passed no judgement on the traditions we wanted to leave out. He is an amazing and engaging public speaker. I can't say enough good things about Rabbi Larry. Everyone at our wedding said that the ceremony was the best one they had ever been to and that the love was palpable. Highly recommend!!!
Rabbi Larry held an amazing service, kept everyone engaged and involved. Took the time to understand the dynamic of us as a couple and turn our words and feelings into a wonderful personalized ceremony.
We couldn’t have asked for anything better! Although I have known Rabbi Larry pretty much my entire life, he went above and beyond at our wedding. He made my husbands side of the family, whom are not jewish, feel very comfortable and explained what was going on in the ceremony. He made it personal and the fact that love letters to each other were our vows was amazing and heartfelt! Rabbi Sernovitz is top notch when it comes to officiating anything. He makes it personal and he really got to know Rob while going through our marriage training! It was an honor for us to be able to have him officiate our wedding and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
I have know Rabbi Larry Sernovitz for many years. He has always been there for my family. There was never a doubt that he would officiate our wedding. He was so warm and caring in the months leading up to our wedding. His counsel was very appreciated, as he helped us view our soon to be marriage from many points of view. When you meet with Rabbi Sernovitz, you immediately feel that he cares about you and your family. The private ceremony of signing our Katubah is a moment I will treasure forever and Rabbi Larry orchestrated it perfectly. The ceremony itself was just magical and exactly what I imagined it would be. Rabbi Sernovitz knows how to bring both families together, so that we all felt like one big family. I was very honored to have him officiate our wedding. Rabbi Larry Sernovitz will always be my Rabbi and most importantly my friend.
Coming from a non-jewish background, I was nervous about meeting with a rabbi for my jewish husband. From the beginning of meeting with Rabbi Larry, I felt so comfortable and felt like I was talking with a friend. We went through some pre-marital counseling which allowed him to know us better and for us to become stronger as we entered our marriage. His ceremony was so thoughtful and got an enthusiastic approval from my mother in law and also everyone at the wedding. I am proud to say that this was not just a one time meeting and that this experience has brought Rabbi Larry into our future lives. Such an amazing Rabbi, man and we were both so lucky to have him be involved in our wedding and marriage.
Rabbi Larry was the perfect pick for our wedding. I come from a Jewish background, while my Wife does not, and Rabbi Larry was able to make us both feel comfortable with each and every meeting. We met multiple times (something i don't believe is ever offered by others) and each meeting was incredibly fulfilling and useful.
At the day of our Wedding, Rabbi Larry made everyone in attendance comfortable. He was extremely professional, well spoken, touching and thoughtful. We had multiple comments from many guests complimenting Rabbi Larry and even had a comment from people who wished Rabbi Larry did their service instead of who they had when they got married (not a bad thing to hear!).
Overall, we cannot say enough good things about Rabbi Larry and do not have a single moment of hesitation to warmly recommend him to anyone looking for a Rabbi for any important event in your life.
Rabbi Larry was incredible. From the moment we met him - about 1 year before our big day - we knew he was going to take our special day and truly bring out the special. Without question, he went above and beyond to make our love shine both before, during, and after our wedding ceremony. Rabbi Larry reinforced for my wife and I the importance of love, happiness, connection, communication, and spirituality. He was sure to incorporate things that were most important to us in the most beautiful way, and our guests still talk about the magical ceremony he led. Beyond the brief marriage ceremony itself, we know Rabbi Larry will be a part of our lives forever and we could not be more grateful for every aspect of our marriage that he brought to light. We learned so much about ourselves with his guidance, and would be remiss if we did not recommend him with ALL the stars to Jewish couples looking for an awesome, genuine, caring, and loving wedding officiant.
Our ceremony was magical and perfect! Being an interfaith couple, Rabbi Larry helped us to find the balance between our religions while still keeping the essence of Judaism in our ceremony. He was extremely patient, creative, and understanding through the entire process. I could not have asked for a more beautiful ceremony! Thank you Rabbi Larry!!
Rabbi Larry was amazing! We met with him five times before our wedding and got to know each other. As we did not have a rabbi that we knew well to marry us before we found Rabbi Larry, it was so nice to be able to get to know the person who married us before the wedding. Throughout the entire evening, we were constantly hearing how much our guests loved the ceremony and how wonderful the rabbi was. Highly recommend!
I cannot say enough nice things about Rabbi Larry Sernovitz! He is one of the kindest people I know. He is extremely knowledgeable, a good listener, and his pre-marital counseling program was helpful to both my husband and I. My husband really liked accessible and flexible the Rabbi was throughout our entire wedding process. Our wedding ceremony was amazing. Still 2 almost 2 months later our friends and family are telling us how great our rabbi was and how it was one of the best/funniest/sweet/loving wedding ceremonies they've ever been to. I highly recommend him as the Rabbi for your wedding!
Rabbi Larry is amazing! He made the whole pre-wedding process easy and stress-free. Sitting down with us 5 times before the wedding. He puts a smile on everyone’s face! Our ceremony was so personal and special. So many family and friends came up to us afterwards saying how much they enjoyed Rabbi Larry’s ceremony. He feels like family to us now. Helping us with the baby naming of our sweet boy too! It’s always a joy to run into him around town! WE LOVE RABBI LARRY!
Rabbi Larry is a special person.
Prior to our wedding, we had a series of 5 meetings with Larry which my wife and I found extremely valuable. During these meetings we discussed life, marriage, our goals, faith and the wedding ceremony itself. The result: we felt extremely comfortable on the day of the wedding, and the ceremony itself was breathtaking.
I've received more compliments on the ceremony from my guests than I could count. And the credit belongs to Larry.
My wife and I highly recommend working with Larry. He brings out the best in people, and importantly, he is very perceptive and cares about the things that you care about. Thank you Rabbi Larry!!

Rabbi Sernovitz is the best. Friendly, humorous, and thorough. He was perfect in every way. Truly made our day a special one.
My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful time working with Rabbi Larry. From the first day we spoke to our wedding, he made us feel supported, excited, and connected. He was available to talk us through the process, even over Skype when we were living out of state, and guided us through every step of the way. We felt that we could trust him and truly enjoyed our conversations on both a spiritual and a personal note. Rabbi Larry took the time to truly get to know us as individuals and as a couple, and made us feel grounded during the stress of wedding planning and moving. He made our wedding ceremony absolutely amazing and helped us relax as well. We are so glad that Rabbi Larry officiated our wedding and would recommend him to our friends and family in the future!
Larry was a fantastic rabbi and wedding officiant. He made our entire wedding experience so smooth and fun! He got to know us over the course of our pre-wedding meetings with him, and ensured that we would have a beautiful ceremony. Many friends and family members have told us that it was the most beautiful ceremony they have ever seen!
We highly recommend working with Rabbi Larry!
First of all, I’m not Jewish, but my wife is. He isn’t the first Rabbi I’ve met, but’s he’s certainly the most personable. He was very respectful of my beliefs. We had a lovely interfaith ceremony, and I can attribute much of our current success to Rabbi Larry.
We were already very happy, and clearly very in love, but he taught us how best to work through future problems, how to relay feelings in a constructive way, etc.
Rabbi Larry is a genuinely kind man, and we got the feeling that he was truly devoted to ensuring that my wife and I were ready to get married. We met with him on several occasions to expand our understanding and expectations about married life, and the kinds of things which can cause issues later, I.e. breaking down communicating feelings, etc.
My wife and I consider him a close friend, and a role model for others in the community.
Rabbi Larry Sernovitz is in a class of his own. Rabbi Sernovitz truly became a trusted advisor and guide throughout the entire year leading up to our marriage.
His thoughtfulness and care was apparent at every turn.
He took time to get to know us individually, as well as our families, and played a critically important role in preparing us for life together, as our own family unit.
Rabbi Sernovitz infused every meeting with important and critical insights for us to learn from; as a Jewish Couple, and also as partners.
The spirit and sentiment he showed during our ceremony is still one of our (and our guests) fondest memories. I can't imagine a better fit for a couple than Rabbi Sernovitz. He's poised, present and incredibly devoted. We adore him!
Rabbi Sernovitz is the best. My wife and I had our wedding officiated by Larry several years ago and he added wonderful personal touches to the ceremony. Several people came over to me during the wedding and remarked about how wonderful he was. Although most Jewish wedding ceremonies are similar, Larry was able to make it unique and something that was memorable.
Rabbi Larry is truly one of a kind.
He was tremendously supportive and earnest throughout my wife's conversion and acted as a trusted counsel and friend to us both before, during, and since our wedding day. His ceremony was meaningful and authentic without overwhelming.
I cannot overstate how highly I recommend Rabbi Larry. He's a friend and Rabbi to us for life.
Rabbi Larry officiated for our wedding not just once, but twice. We had initially planned to marry in April, but due to a sudden terminal illness in our family, married a month early. It was Rabbi Larry who gently suggested to us that we change our plans and I am forever grateful to him that he did.
He is a man of faith and conviction that not only helped us navigate through both the sudden loss of my MIL and the celebration of our union, but was able to do so with a reassurance and comfort I could not have found on my own. I was overwhelmed at the time and there were so many things and small miracles Rabbi Larry helped along so we could be married with our closest family and friends present. My parents, who were both raised Catholic, still ask me about Rabbi Larry. Throughout the whole process, they never felt foreign or uncomfortable at our Jewish ceremonies.
If you are looking for an officiant or someone just to share in your celebration, I cannot recommend Rabbi Larry enough.
Rabbi Larry created a personal touch to our wedding which led to a beautiful day. Just as important, leading up to the big event, he provided guidance and education around the wedding process, relationship and Judaism. He is flexible to handle the needs of a religious ceremony and guidance that runs the gamut from reform to Orthodox. He takes his time to get to know the couple and their families. We are happy to call Rabbi Larry a friend.
Rabbi Larry truly made our wedding day special. His ceremony was personal and unique and we still get compliments about it to this day. Our premarital sessions with Rabbi Larry helped to facilitate some important and worthwhile conversations prior to our wedding. Rabbi Larry respected our wishes about what traditions to include in our ceremony and helped us to integrate our friends and family. I highly recommend Rabbi Larry!
