Choosing Rabbi Lori to be our officiant was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning process. We met with her about 4 times leading up to our wedding, and she made a great effort to get to know us as individuals and as a couple. We especially recommend her to couples who are Jewish and other-than-Jewish. She was so kind, so patient, and explained all the traditions in the ceremony in a way that was easy to understand. She incorporated our wishes and the ceremony reflected us. Our guests remarked on how Rabbi Lori really got to know us and created a beautiful ceremony where everyone felt included.
Rabbi Lori officiated our wedding on Martha's Vineyard. We are so grateful to her for her role in the beautiful day we shared with our friends and family. We did not know Rabbi Lori when we first met with her about our wedding, but we walked away from our first meeting knowing she was the perfect person to officiate! She created a ceremony that reflected our personalities and what was important to us, and she invested herself in getting to know us as individuals and as a couple. She was flexible throughout the planning stages, but always had helpful suggestions when we needed guidance. During the ceremony, she created a warm atmosphere and was interactive and engaging with our guests. She has continued to be a part of our lives, and we have enjoyed sharing life's ups and downs with her since our wedding.
Where to begin with writing a glowing review of the incredible Rabbi Lori! My husband Craig and I come from different religious backgrounds (I am mixed but identify as Jewish and am American, and Craig is from Ireland and is technically Protestant but not religious whatsoever). We found Rabbi Lori via Unorthodox Celebrations – a great website that helps couples find wedding officiants to suit their needs. We interviewed with six or seven Rabbis, and both Craig and I felt that while everyone was really nice, we felt the deepest connection with Rabbi Lori. Though we were in NYC and she was on Martha's Vineyard, we continued connecting through multiple video conference calls and light assignments where she learned more about Craig's and my relationship. We got married in Newport, RI, which is what led us to search for New England Rabbis. Despite unexpectedly and potentially majorly problematic weather right before out wedding, Rabbi Lori guaranteed she would make it to sign our ketubah and officiate our ceremony. Craig and I wrote each other letters rather than readings our vows aloud during the ceremony, and Rabbi Lori essentially spoke on our behalves. She made the ceremony incredibly special and specific to our love and our families, she added humor and audience participation, was incredibly eager to make Craig feel like his religious and cultural sides were represented, and because our guests were very diverse, she was extremely explanatory about all Jewish symbols, Hebrew texts, etc. So often things happen at a wedding without being explained, and even Jews don't understand the actual reason why they are breaking the glass, under a chuppah, etc. Everything was so customized. So many people complimented our ceremony. Even the guards at Rosecliff, which has multiple weddings a weekend, said they have heard a ton of ceremonies, and ours was one of the most special and enjoyable! To top it all off, when we returned to NYC after our wedding, we received a special printed copy of our ceremony, complete with elegant paper and ribbons the colors of our wedding. Rabbi Lori is so warm and lovely, and I hope to take up her offer of being our Rabbi for life.
Rabbi Lori really took the time to get to know me and my fiancé before our wedding. She took time out of her schedule to plan video calls when we were preparing for our wedding from out of state, and she was always patient, thoughtful, kind, and professional. She was a pleasure to work with.
Rabbi Lori was truly a gift from above. After a fairly difficult time finding a rabbi to perform an interfaith ceremony inside a church with other clergy members, we found Rabbi Lori and our prayers were answered.
Throughout the whole wedding planning process, Rabbi Lori was a source of inspiration and support. She took the time to get to know each of us and then put together a phenomenal service in partnership with the other clergy members. She was commanding at the service and made it so personable. Our guests have said it was the best interfaith ceremony they have ever been to. We highly recommend working with her.
It was a great experience working with Rabbi Lori. My wife and I would definitely recommend her for anyone else looking for a Rabbi. We spoke with her a few times before the wedding and she learned a lot about us and made the ceremony very personal. She was very accommodating to any of our requests and gave us a lot of help deciding what we wanted to include. If you want a personalized wedding ceremony designed exactly how you want, you should work with Rabbi Lori.
Rabbi Lori will be a wonderful addition to your team. And not just for the wedding, but as a lifelong confidant and educator to help you in your life’s journey. Our pre-wedding discussions with Rabbi Lori allowed us to take the time to learn what is most important for ourselves and for the family we are starting together. On the day of our wedding, we felt at ease and loved throughout the ceremony, which was the perfect execution of all the thought and care spent curating our ideal experience. Since our wedding, we have continued to grow and learn from our relationship with Rabbi Lori. She has even created a community in our area among other couples that she has also had the pleasure of helping get married. Rabbi Lori takes pleasure in “healing the cosmic order” and was trusted to help our Jewish and Catholic families come together in support of our love, now and forever!
Lori was fantastic to work with and incredibly accommodating and knowledgable! We had a mixed religion ceremony and Rabbi Lori worked with us to create a ceremony (Universalist & Jewish) that was meaningful to both of us and our families. She was very accommodating with scheduling pre-marital sessions with both my husband and I and individually. We loved working with Lori so much that we continue to work with her and recently had her officiate a naming ceremony for our newborn son.
Right when we met Rabbi Lori, we knew she was "the one". Months before the wedding day, Rabbi Lori took time to get to know my fiancee and myself as well as us together as a united team. Rabbi Lori addressed my concerns for my fiancee(now wife) and I having completely different upbringings in regards to Judaism. However, Rabbi Lori broke down what the traditions meant, asked what they meant to us, and we seamlessly created a unity of our ideal ceremony. During the weekend of the wedding, Rabbi Lori was a rock of support when our wedding party made it about them: she made them keep the focus on us, bride to be and bride to be. Rabbi Lori is the most genuine, introspective, and assertive person. Our magical day wouldn't have been the same without having her be such an integral role in our magical day.
Rabbi Lori was easily one of the best decisions that we made in planning our wedding! As an interfaith couple, we knew that finding an officiant that could represent both family traditions would be a challenge. However we got so lucky in finding Rabbi Lori! She brought warmth, positive energy, and a spirit of inclusive celebration and to not just our wedding ceremony, but to our lives since! Highly highly recommended to interfaith couples!!!
Working with Rabbi Lori for our wedding ceremony was amazing. Leading up to our wedding, Rabbi Lori took the time to get to know us individually and as a couple, which made our ceremony feel so personal and "us." Rabbi Lori was open to exploring all of the elements that we wanted (and didn't want) to incorporate into our ceremony and found a way to tie each element back to us and our story as a couple. With an interfaith and intimate group of just 45 friends and family, Rabbi Lori made our ceremony accessible for everyone, explaining the different traditions and rituals that we incorporated. Our wedding day and specifically our ceremony was so special because of Rabbi Lori and we've continued our relationship with her since!
Lori was such a wonderful part of our big day, and continues to be a good friend and mentor to us. In the months leading up to the wedding she took the time to get to know both of us, our backgrounds, our story, our families and she took all that we had shared with her, and helped us to create a very personal and heartfelt ceremony. During the whole process she was our soundboard and confidant. If we were having issues with planning, or with each other, or with our families we would talk to Lori and she would help us through it. The ceremony we put together with her was beautiful and made all guests feel welcome. We have received many comments from guests saying how delightful and warm Lori was. We are still close with Lori and have become friends with others for whom she has been an officiant/guide/mentor. We truly cannot thank Rabbi Lori enough for her support and all that she did to make our wedding special.
Lori was such a joy to have with us on our wedding day. She got to know us very well in the months leading up to our wedding, and having her as our Rabbi provided a warm, welcoming atmosphere filled with love and laughs. She offered great suggestions for our ceremony and listened to what we both wanted and found a beautiful way to blend it all together. We are so grateful we found her. Three and a half years later and we are still in touch with her and get together when we can. Thanks, Lori!
We can't say enough great things about Rabbi Lori! Before the wedding, she took the time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple which made the ceremony extremely personal. My husband is Jewish and I am not and Rabbi Lori provided resources for me to learn more about wedding traditions and worked with us to develop a ceremony that aligned with what we wanted. She also made sure that she created a very inclusive environment and made sure that non-Jewish guests could follow everything. So many of our guests came up to us after and told us how much they enjoyed the ceremony. Rabbi Lori set the tone for an incredible evening and we can't thank her enough!
