About this vendor
There's so much to do when planning a wedding that it's easy to lose sight of what's really important- your relationship!
I will take time to get to know you and what is unique about your relationship, and will give you space to turn toward each other in the midst of the flurry of wedding planning. We will think together about your vision for your marriage, and explore tools to support you in bringing that vision alive. We will then create a unique ceremony that reflects who you are individually and as a couple- an honoring of your values and a celebration of what you love about each other.
What to expect:
After an initial conversation in which we talk about what you would like to achieve in our work together and your vision for your ceremony, we typically begin with two tools:
1. Prepare/ Enrich, which has been the #1 marriage assessment tool for over 35 years. You will each fill out a 45 minute survey, which takes a snapshot of your relationship. As a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, I will then mirror back to you the areas of strength in your relationship. We will also use Prepare/Enrich and other tools to support areas of potential growth for you as a couple.
2. Private Ketubah: I provide a set of questions about everything from communication to finances to parenting. After answering the questions separately, come back together and compare notes. Where do you agree? Where do you disagree, and the process has taught you new information about your soon-to-be spouse? And where has the process highlighted an issue that you and your partner may need to come to consensus about before your wedding day?
We add to the information from these two tools with a discussion about what you love about each other, what's important to you individually and as a couple, and what practices and traditions might support you throughout your marriage.
We then begin crafting your Ketubah- your vision of how you want to show up for each other and the life that you want to create together - and your ceremony, which will reflect that vision and your unique relationship.

Rabbi Margie Jacobs officiated my wedding in March, 2018, but we started working with her almost a year earlier. Rabbi Margie proved to be a great fit for us as a couple and carefully and sensitively constructed a ceremony after working with us and exploring our values and relationship as we worked together before the ceremony. It wound up being a perfect ceremony for us and we heard so many compliments from our guests on what a lovely ceremony it was. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to explore their or their partner's Jewish heritage in crafting their wedding ceremony.
