I explained the ceremony set up and discussed the flow of the ceremony; after walking down the aisle, she said to me "who knew it would be set up like this." The sequence wasn't as we discussed leaving my husband and I feeling (& looking) very confused. Additionally, we discussed an English only ceremony and day of half of it was in Hebrew. We sent over our pre-ceremony questions thinking she was going to use our answers to make cohesive comments about us a couple. We were surprised when she began reading our answers word for word - had we known this was the plan we definitely would have written our answers differently, prioritizing the overall flow. In our conversations leading up to the wedding, we found ourselves constantly having to defend our choices - who would walk down the aisle, who would stand where. I wish Rabbi Marsha could have been more open, understanding and willing to help us execute our vision.

I found one who was open minded and for me, having a female was important! Rabbi Marsha gave us such a beautiful ceremony! She did a great job of explaining all of the little traditions like the kiddush cup and the 7 circles, so my non-jewish family knew what was going on, and was very open minded about any changes we wanted to make to the typical jewish ceremony! She didn't put a huge emphasis on God, like we asked, but everything included was so meaningful.. about love, family, spirituality.. All of my catholic family loved our ceremony and were complimenting it all night! Rabbi Marsha herself is an absolute pleasure to work with.. she kept in touch throughout our planning process, even as we switched locations 4 times due to covid, and always brought positivity and humor into our calls which we really needed!!
