our wedding from Chicago at the time / while planning our move to Arizona so finding all vendors, especially a photographer was rather overwhelming. I had a phone convo with Rachael and within minutes knew she would be our photographer - her personality and energy made me so excited and looking at her previous portfolio of wedding photos was just breathtaking.
Rachael did our engagement photos in the middle of the Arizona summer - we were fools to plan at such a hot time hah but her positive attitude and eye to find the best spots to shoot in the desert was just wonderful. We were obsessed with all of our engagement photos. The wedding photos were another beyond amazing experience. I would like to highlight a few considerations. Firstly, personality is key when selecting a photographer—this should not be underestimated! Rachael has a kind personality and warm smile that put us at ease on what could have been a very stressful day.
Secondly, we didn’t fully appreciate this initially, but it is very important to have a skilled photographer to capture some of those priceless, yet fleeting, moments. Rachael managed to take a particular photo of my brother and me with interlocked arms, merrily dancing with glow-sticks on our necks at night time; and I can’t describe how life-like it feels. Rachael captured the essence of that moment and one that will resonate with me for years to come.
Skill is not just about the photo taking itself; obviously much depends on the scenery and subjects. When Rachael took photos of us around the beautiful grounds of the garden, she knew all the tricks to get those picture-perfect moments. She knew which areas would photograph better than others. She managed to take some breathtakingly beautiful photos of us in front of the lovely Suguaro cacti, for example. She’s also very skilled at directing her subjects in particular ways—ensuring my suit jacket was buttoned or adjusting my tie or cuff-links, for example—without making us feel like she’s domineering or demanding.
Thirdly, she does a great job of not getting in the way or spoiling an experience! She takes photos in a natural way without it feeling like the paparazzi is following you around. She has a very natural style and didn’t distract us or our guests.
Finally, we organised our wedding from overseas and Rachael provided my wife with some really helpful tips and contacts which really helped with the planning.
The finished album and photos were very professional and exactly what we were looking for, allowing us to relive those special moments. In summary, we were very pleased with Rachael and highly recommend her to others seeking a professional, friendly and talented photographer!

My husband and I opted out of engagement pictures, as it wasn't our thing, and even not being able to have that time prior to our wedding to get to know us and our (potentially not so great) photo habits, Rachael captured us perfectly. We are not people who love our photo taken either, nor are huge sharers of PDA, but she made us feel incredibly comfortable at every single moment throughout the day.
We had a brunch wedding, and many photographers were scared to do shots at noon (when light isn't the best) but Rachael didn't say a thing about it and every single picture turned out amazing.
She had you fill out a questionnaire prior to the big day to know your family, bridal party, and specific shots you wanted captured.

I loved Rachael's portfolio from the beginning – her fine art aesthetic and use of natural light was unique in a sea of wedding photographers. Along with her awesome personality, she also has some of the most amazing photography work I've ever seen! We wanted bright colors and beautiful desert backgrounds in our images for our engagement pictures and wedding day. Rachael understood that and brought all of that to life. She is very responsive as well and a very hard worker. She had gone out to our venue a few days before to prep and get ideas for shots she might be able to take to ensure she was well prepared. special spot in which we do spend a lot of time. That spot was actually at canyon lake. Rachel and I only texted up until the day our shoot was. We would chat back and fourth and exchange pictures in order to get the idea and the look we were going for. We sent tons of options as well as even recommended what colors to wear that would stand out with the back drop. We also in cooperated our 2 Labradors in our shoot so you can imagine just how hectic it might have been for Rachel...but she was so patient, and she was so good with our dogs. Rachel worked with us for just a few hours and she got so many shots and angles that I had asked for. She even remembered some that I had even forgot about which stood out to me. We received our engagement photos within a week and once we did get them we were so happy with the final work. Rachel was so great to work with. She has a very open mind and knows exactly what she is doing.
