tagram. As I was scrolling through, I fell in love with her style. I sent Rachael an email and she responded quick. She sent me a welcome package and told me we could set up a call. She called following day and went through everything with me. She also got to know me a bit, and our engagement story. After the call I came downstairs and my husband asked who I was talking to, I told him Rachael. He thought I was on the phone with a friend because of how the conversation went. From the phone call to the engagement shoot she was with me every step of the way. She helped with location and wardrobe. Any time I needed her, she was there. We aren’t the easiest couple. Super goofy, a little shy, and had no clue what we were doing. OH! And we brought our dogs to be in the shoot. She had our favorite music playing and was very patient. She was also EXCEPTIONAL at giving direction on how to pose and making us feel so comfortable. Also very accommodating with our dogs.
We knew we needed to use her for our wedding. Initially we were going to have a big wedding but ended up deciding to elope in Wyoming. I was so nervous to call Rachael and let her know that we were changing the plans. I was scared she would say no, because my heart was set on her being our photographer. I made the call, and Rachael said she would still be on board! We were elated. Once again, every step of the way Rachael was there. It didn’t matter when I would call or text. She responded quickly. Once we got to Wyoming she made sure that we saw the location so she could scout it out. She also found us a few other spots to take photos at. She rolled with all of the punches and challenges that we faced. About a year later I found out I was pregnant. I KNEW I had to have Rachael take our maternity photos. She now splits her time between San Diego and Arkansas. The only thing keeping me from jumping on a flight there to have her take our photos, was I was pregnant. I reached out to her and was lucky enough to catch her while she was here in San Diego. I was against maternity photos. I wasn’t feeling the best or looking the best. But against my own negative self and trust in Rachael, we did the photos. During the whole shoot, she made me feel beautiful and confident. I cried when I received the photos. See. Not only does Rachael capture images of you. She does much, much more than that. She captures who you are. And through the photos you receive.. they speak volume. That is a rare talent to be able to do that. In my opinion. My favorite comment from people who see our photos, is not only how beautiful they are. But that you can see and feel our personalities. I didn’t know when hiring Rachael I would get more than a photographer. I got a planner, a stylist, a cheerleader, to name a few, and most of all.. a friend. Thank you for making us feel so comfortable with you and capturing us. Our photos are beyond measure and more than I could have ever asked for. If you have stumbled upon my review, looking for a photographer. Please stop the search and reach out to Rachael. You will absolutely NOT be disappointed and I promise you, you cannot find anyone better than Rachael. You will forever cherish and love the photos you receive. For our engagement session, my husband and I were excited and nervous as we had never had professional photos taken together. Rachael played our favorite genre of music to help ease the nerves, walked us through different poses, and has a way about her that made us feel comfortable to be our authentic selves as a couple while photographed. t seemed like a million times, lost our original photographer, etc etc. BUT as we are all learning, everything happens for a reason. My husband and I ended up eloping but planned on having a backyard party to celebrate our mariage. We wanted to capture this special celebration, so we were back to the drawing board on hiring a photographer. My college teammate actually used Rachael for her wedding AND WOW, the most stunning photos I have ever seen so she was my first inquiry. Thank the Lord that Rachael was available. She became my BFF right away as I know she has this beautiful connection with all of her clients. We did an engagement shoot to get comfortable with each other and it was a blast. y are with you a large portion of the day. If I had to do my wedding all over again, Rachael would be one of the first vendors I would hire mainly for two reasons - 1) She was GOOD energy! She exuded a genuine interest in getting the right shots and making sure I was happy. We were battling a lot of wind and some last minute itinerary changes - and she rolled with it wonderfully. She had a big job to do but wasn't overly stressed or wound tight because of it. Instead she was easy-going but provided the right amount structure. She never over-posed us or made us be inauthentic. I really felt like I had my friends (her and her second shooter, Morgan) photographing me/us on the wedding day. She was able to have a sense of humor and fun while getting the job done and working efficiently. 2) The quality of the images and the types of images - *chef's kiss*. I am very picky when it comes to photography and I had a certain aesthetic and vibe in mind when I imagined our pictures - Rachael nailed it. She captured so many wonderful candids as well as just the overall vibe of the day. When I looked at our photos I got the overwhelming sense that she poured a lot of love and care into editing each picture. The color, contrast, saturation, exposure, grain, etc. seems to be so perfected in each picture.

When we kindly asked for a refund (since it was 2 years in advance) she refused despite no work having been done besides a phone call. Additionally, she had not actually signed the contract until I sent an email to notify her of our change of plans and kindly requested a refund OR even a partial refund. I get that alot of work goes into planning these events, but two years in advance with zero work and no executed contact signed by both parties was in my opinion inconsiderate, greedy, and sneaky. I was one of those people who didn't want to do the engagement photos, because I thought why it's a waste and I'd rather just take that away and have a cheaper price, but it was worth it and is needed. We developed a relationship and bond to where we were able to feel comfortable with her and her taking photos of us. I now believe without the engagement photos, the wedding day photos would have been awkward and unenjoyable. There is a reason this is apart of the package and you can't skip or take away for a cheaper price! Rachael is absolutely worth the money and I would and will recommend her to everyone. had to push back my session not once but twice. Did she ever complain? NO. She was so sweet and thoughtful! She pushed back payments too to help me out. *FYI I’m not even done close to explaining how amazing she is* lol From countless emails back and forth and some texts, I swore I felt like we were friends already. She makes you feel so welcoming and so relaxed. Fast forward to boudoir day!! I’ve done this but very premature. Never professional so I was a little hesitant especially not being comfortable in my own skin, but who is? Rachael went above and beyond! I mean BEYOND!!!!!! She literally had champagne, some cheese and fruit for this. How sweet!!! There was a makeup artist that we had the option to use, hella worth the money, and ladies GET YOUR MAKEUP DONE!!!! Rachael helped demonstrate how to pose and how to just have fun with this! The fact she has a designated room for this is awesome! Rachael is the hype QUEEN while photographing you. I ended up getting sneak peeks and I thought, “wow!! These are all I need but I know we took more” aha The book the pics came in is completely beautiful! She helps with the layout of the pics, that you the client gets to choose, for the book. If I didn’t already have a wedding photographer, I would have hired her on the spot. the pandemic and closures had begun (completely unsure of when life would really return to “normal”) and then again 5 months later. We decided at that point we just wanted to have a beautiful small & personal elopement at Yosemite National Park. Since the beginning Rachael was nothing but understanding and amazing. She talked us through all the pros & cons and gave us her honest opinions on each route we were considering. She went completely above and beyond to make our elopement a reality and graciously made hours of driving through the park seem like not such a big deal (after my husband accidentally missed a critical turn). We made it to our last destination just in time and Rachael worked quickly and deliberately, literally racing the sunset to get all the photos we were dying to capture. In addition to all the positive experiences we had with Rachael during these trying circumstances, she is such a fun and friendly person to be around. You might think or feel awkward posing for photos (like we did), but she truly knows what she’s doing! She will make you look like a complete professional and is so creative with the photos she wants to capture. We’re forever going to treasure the photos and memories she captured for us on our special day.

d truly see and feel each couples personality. Her editing style is sultry but soft. She captures light and juxtaposition in the most artistic fashion. She is self taught and has a true photographers eye. I scheduled a Boudoir photoshoot with Rachael first. She made me feel so comfortable to be in front of the camera, directing each pose to perfection. I couldn’t believe the goddess in those photos was me! I immediately asked if she would be willing to shoot our wedding as well. Her package at the time, which I found to be extremely fairly priced for the quality of work, included an engagement photoshoot as well. My husband is very camera shy and Rachael knew exactly how to make him participate without feeling awkward. For our wedding I cannot boast enough about Rachel's professionalism. We had several challenging obstacles on our wedding day, including an MIA wedding planner. Rachael stepped in right away to keep us punctual and made the day run smoothly. When she sent me our photo gallery from the wedding, I cried because I felt like I was reliving each special moment over again. I will cherish these photos forever. Amidst all the change in 2020, we got pregnant and Rachael offered to do a free maternity photoshoot for us. I once again felt like a goddess with a much larger belly. We’ve worked with Rachael in several different settings, from parks to open fields, beaches, and indoor venues and she really knows how work with the space. Rachael is punctual, meets each deadline she tells her clients, has an infectious personality and her professionalism goes a long way. inding her and the experience was completely different. The first photographer had quite the chip on her shoulder, so things ended up not working out. However, that was absolutely a blessing in disguise because it was the complete opposite with Rachael. She was friendly, down to earth, and a pleasure to be around. I’m a bit awkward, so it was important to me to find a photographer that could provide some direction/pose me a bit. I didn’t want to look like a weirdo in all my wedding photos. Hahaha. Plans changed so we ended up eloping in Maui instead of San Diego and although it was her first time shooting there, she killed it. incredible from the very first meeting and it hasn’t stopped! The first meeting was over FaceTime (due to distance) and she spent over an hour taking us through everything! She was so kind and professional! She went through her look books, pricing options, packages, what to expect, what to look for in photographers, etc!! We booked her two years in advance! That’s how badly we knew we wanted her! Fast forward to engagement shoot and this was our first meeting in person! Prior to the shoot we discussed the location, timing, etc! She spent the time to send mood boards of different outfit ideas she felt would photograph well in the setting as well as on me (what other photographer does that?!). Meeting for the first time it was like we had been friends for years! She instantly made us feel so loved and comfortable! She really is so talented at what she does! Our engagement shoot was about an hour and we received over 100 beautifully edited photos! (I didn’t know my man and I could looks so good!!). When it came closer to the wedding, she spent so much time developing a photography timeline, and created a list of every photo I wanted that was important to my husband and I. Day of the wedding her and her second shooter showed up looking so professional! As soon as they arrived they got to work taking detail shots. I had quite a tough timeline due to being adamant about not doing a first look and different locations for ceremony and reception and they handled it all with ease! They made sure everything on their end was taken care of to get the best pictures! Every single photo taken was BEAUTIFUL! What I loved most is they got so many candid shots of my husband and I as well as our guests! We love that we have photos of our friends and family enjoying our special day just as much as we did! We booked Rachael for 13 hours and she worked hard and amazingly through it all! I had absolutely no worry about our photos because I trust her completely! finding Rachael through a friends recommendation by Instagram, I fell in love with her photos! The attention to detail and posing was extremely important to me. Not only was Rachael so so cool to "hang out" with during the shoot (because that's what it felt like) but she really took ALL the pressure off when it came to what poses to do, where to look, and making sure everything is in place (hair, dress, jewelry, etc.). OMG and when you hire her (because you should), the teasers she shares on Instagram will make you squeal with excitement for you to get your photos! I can't tell you how many times I would stalk her Instagram feed to see those previews!
