I would recommend Rachel and Mark for wedding photography/videography in a heartbeat – from the initial consultation call with Rachel all the way through our wedding day and receiving our wedding video and photos (and engagement photos!), working with them was a joy. Rachel handled all communication very professionally and was responsive to questions, including being an incredible resource for planning out the wedding day timeline. Shooting our engagement photos with Rachel was a great way to get to know her and her approach ahead of the big day, and for us to practice and relax a bit in front of the camera. On the big day, Rachel and Mark were incredibly flexible and patient, and rolled with the punches with ease. They worked together capturing both photo and video seamlessly, giving direction where necessary without it feeling forced, and blending in to capture all the small moments throughout. When the limo was late and the day was running behind schedule, Rachel shaved off time and got us back on track without adding stress or urgency, and still managed to capture all the family photos we had planned for before the ceremony. Their incredible talent for capturing the moment and framing photos beautifully really showed through, even having never been to our venue before. Our wedding video and photos turned out amazing and we are so grateful to have had Rachel and Mark capture our special day!

I’m Rachel, a wedding photographer based near Placerville, CA, serving Sacramento, the Bay Area, Lake Tahoe, and beyond. Together with my husband, Mark, I’ve photographed more than 290 weddings since 2017. Our approach blends real moments with beautifully composed portraits, preserving both the meaningful details and the unexpected moments that become your favorite memories. From our first conversation through your wedding day, we help you prepare with photography timeline guidance and family photo planning. When you need direction, we’ll guide you clearly. When a moment unfolds naturally, we give you room to experience it. I lead photography for our collections. For two-photographer coverage, Mark joins me as the second photographer. For photo and video collections, he leads videography, and we work together throughout the day to capture your story in both formats. For our higher-tier photo and video collections, we also bring on additional team members to provide more coverage of your celebration. As a married team, we understand how meaningful these memories become over time. Our family and faith are central to our lives, and we bring that care into the way we serve our couples. There is so much to say about the quality of work from both Rachel & Mark. Starting with the engagement photo shoot, Rachel was so easy to work with and really helped us with poses...

and ideas, as my fiancé and I are a bit camera shy. She ventured with us through El Dorado National Forest for our dream snowy photoshoot and even captured some amazing golden hour shots. We were in awe with how much we loved doing a photoshoot! Our final details meeting before the wedding was easy and quick. Her questionnaire asks all necessary questions and made the process as easy and transparent as possible. Then comes the wedding day… we warned her & her husband Mark about some family issues and they worked with us to make sure the photo process was as seamless as could be. They were so positive and kind, kept a smile on their face despite some sideways comments from a few family members annoyed with having to take pictures. They were both on time, ready, and offered suggestions on additional poses and additional pictures. The drone shot with everyone was a huge hit with our guests AND worked to get everyone down to the dance floor!! Kudos for the creativity!! Overall, we had the best experience with Rachel & Mark and couldn’t have been more satisfied. Rachel provided sneak peek pictures SO QUICKLY after our wedding and we already fell in love with them. ! I booked Rachel in 2019 for my wedding in Fall 2020. We were able to do an engagement photoshoot in the Oakland redwoods and the photos turned out absolutely gorgeous! Rachel is a true pro and really captures the heart of the moment - nothing artificial or forced here! She spent time getting to know me and my fiance so that we would be comfortable in the photos, and was able to do two locations for us. The photos are all amazing and just feel really genuine. I knew I wanted someone who was going to capture us authentically and with minimal adjustments, more of a photo story than a stylized shoot, and that is completely Rachel’s style. Due to COVID-19, we had to reschedule the wedding, and she was incredibly flexible and helpful with suggestions as we went through the re-planning process. In advance of the wedding, she sent over sample photo lists and gave good timing suggestions which really made the day run smoothly. The day of the wedding, Rachel captured everything we asked and more! We received a gorgeous set of sneak peek photos and her photo-journalistic style and beautiful, authentic aesthetic were so present in the first set of photos. Finally, Rachel is a kind and generous person, who is easy to be around and knowledgeable about all things wedding! I honestly could not recommend her enough, and we were so lucky to have her capture our wedding.

was really able to look at the different styles of photography that we liked and conceptualize ways in which she could capture our multi day wedding in photography that will stand the test of time. Rachel was happy to be taken a little bit out of her comfort zone and experiment with me so that my fiance and I could get exactly what we wanted. I won't say that I was a bridezilla but I will say that I had a very specific vision in mind for what I wanted and Rachel was able to roll with low light scenarios, smoke bombs, champagne being poured from the sky and through all of that take amazing pictures with a wonderful attitude. In addition to delivering amazing photography Rachel really went above and beyond for us including staying in the East Bay for a long holiday weekend so that she could be at multiple events and even trading in some equipment to take better pictures in our low light ceremony after taking test shots during our rehearsal. Our pictures were delivered extremely fast (sneak peak from first wedding on Friday came while we were getting ready for the second wedding on Sunday) and the portfolio with all of our pictures was delivered within 2-3 weeks (we were still on our honeymoon in fact). In the end I can't say enough good things about Rachel and can't recommend her enough.
