Booking Rachel for both our engagement session and wedding day was the best decision we made. I am the type of person who spends hours (and I mean hours) looking through reviews and photos before reaching out to a vendor. Rachel's work is absolutely breathtaking. Not only that, but her genuine love for what she does and her ability to make anyone feel calm and confident in front of a camera is truly remarkable. I can't express how much piece of mind Rachel gave me on our wedding day. It was down pouring and there were limited options for photo locations indoor/covered outdoor - but wow, Rachel took charge of the situation and created an album that was beyond my expectations. She beautifully used the natural light of the clouds covering the bright sun to create stunning photos. Outside of her incredible photography work, I appreciated Rachel's ability to command a group of people (in the most genuine way) so that photos could be done efficiently. My husband and I are both blessed with large families, and so I was nervous about fitting all of our photos into our timeline. Rachel was able to stick to our tight timeline, without making us feel rushed - this was huge for me. During the reception Rachel displayed a few photos she had taken of my husband and I during our first look and I'm not exaggerating when I say EVERYONE at reception was blown away by how gorgeous the photos were. With so much anticipation to see the entire album, my husband and I were so delighted to receive all of our photos SO quickly, only a few weeks after our wedding. We did not hire a videographer, so being able to look through all of the candid photos of our guests throughout the night that Rachel and her assistant took brought me to tears, it was so beautiful to see everyone in the moment, smiling, and having an incredible time. Only certain photographers are able to capture the beauty in special moments, and that's exactly what Rachel did. I promise you, the best decision you'll make is hiring Rachel. Her work speaks for itself. I took the longest time to decide on a photographer, because for me, photos were one of the most important aspects of my wedding day. I literally tear up every time I look through our wedding album because of how beautiful and authentic our photos are - she captured our love perfectly.

Rachel was absolutely fantastic. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and just super excited about us and the process from beginning to end. The energy she brought, coupled with top-notch photography that was nothing short of exceptional, helped make our wedding day the wonderful and memorable occasion that it was. Working with Rachel for our engagement photos was amazing. It was my first time working with a professional photographer, and I was a little nervous going in. Rachel not only made me and my partner feel comfortable, but I actually enjoyed the session, and now we have some stunning photos from this chapter in our life that we get to cherish forever. Rachel's experience and knowledge made navigating the Cherry Blossom crowds on the National Mall easy and stress free. She was incredibly attentive, kind, dedicated, and efficient. She de-mystified the process and made us feel incredibly comfortable in front of the camera. We would absolutely love to work with her again, and the only reason she isn't the vendor for our wedding day is because we are eloping in Alaska--otherwise, Rachel would be our first choice!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Rachel. Nor can I share the hundreds of photos she gave us from our wedding day. I started following her on Instagram just before my now-husband and I got engaged because I loved her photography style, and I quickly realized that she's as wonderful a person as she is a talented photographer. As part of our package, we had an engagement session so she could get to know us as a couple and we could get comfortable in front of a camera – and we still talk about how much fun we had. After that, we knew we picked the right person to capture our wedding day. On the day of, she and her second photographer, Leah, were magical in their ability to capture every moment. They were everywhere, in the best way, always ready to capture a laugh, a deep breath, or a hilarious dance move, without us even knowing they were there. Rachel is professional, responsive, amazingly organized, and genuinely kind. She was my favorite vendor to work with and I'd hire her again in a heartbeat.

We truly cannot give Rachel enough praise. Even before we met her, she was extremely helpful and responsive over email—sending helpful information and answering our (many) questions. Our engagement shoot (included in our package) was relaxed and fun. It helped us get a feel for what we’d be doing on our wedding day and let Rachel get to know us as a couple, what poses were best for us, etc. On the actual wedding day, Rachel was incredibly organized, thoughtful, and professional, while still making taking pictures fun! She handled our large families extremely well and moved quickly to make sure no one (especially the kids) got bored or uncomfortable. We not only had sneak peeks the next day, but DURING THE RECEPTION Rachel set up her laptop with a slideshow of photos from the ceremony—it was amazing!! We have never seen that at a wedding before and it was so special for our guests to be able to see the photos right away. Rachel is super nice and easy to work with, she’s fun and friendly, but above all that, her photos are GORGEOUS. Her style is so light and bright and she truly knows how to use natural light to get stunning shots—but her nighttime shots are incredible, too! We are truly struggling to narrow down our favorites to have printed and framed. We can’t wait to think of a reason to have another photo shoot with Rachel soon!

We made a lot of decisions when we planned our wedding and Rachel was by far the best one we made. She was so helpful in planning, like calling out that our initial ceremony time would be after sunset & in the dark (planning a fall wedding in the summer will do that to you) and helping us scout out beautiful DC locations. Working with Rachel on our wedding day was easy- she made us feel comfortable and gave us the direction to pose like we knew what we were doing (bc we didnt!). But wait- here is the best part, we woke up the next morning and we HAD SNEAK PEAKS IN OUR INBOX. We had a small wedding (only 15 people) I was able to send to family and friends that werent there the next day!!! Not to mention, they were stunning. If you cant tell by now, I couldnt recommend Rachel more and will be booking her for any and all future events!

Rachel has been incredible to work with from our engagement shoot all the way through to our wedding. Her talent is unmatched and her direction was clear and extremely helpful when taking photos. My favorite part is that she showed me pictures during our reception and even set them up on a laptop for guests to see. I received so many compliments on that and I thought it was such a sweet touch! She truly went the extra mile. Her photos are also high quality and utilize natural light incredibly well. She also works so fast to get you previews and the final product. Highly recommend if you want high quality, stress free photos from a prompt professional.

Rachel took BEAUTIFUL photos of our wedding a few weeks ago. She is wonderful to work with and is super responsive to all inquiries or requests, even during one of the busiest seasons for a wedding vendor. She understood that we may not be comfortable in front of the camera, but she put us at ease. We just received our wedding gallery, and we could not be happier. My husband and I value Rachel’s photography by its unique, bright style, perfect capture reflecting our personalities and composition. The quality of the print is excellent which only proves her professional approach. I used to be a photographer myself and I was very careful when looking for a professional that will capture a few portraits of my husband and I in wedding outfits. If you liked her portfolio as much as I did, here are some more reasons why she is one of the best ones. She provides a guide how to prepare for your session and she’s willing to collaborate on finding other professionals such as make up stylists. There’s no reason to worry about the session. She starts with a brief introduction on how is it going to look and that’s the moment when you simply follow her guidance and almost forget about the camera. Her being so passionate about each capture, the timing of sunrise and a couple that is in love made the session more of a wonderful adventure or a sweet date for us two :) Rachel is open to your suggestions and follows them carefully. That’s optional though. If you don’t have any ideas, she has so many! Two hours passed by so quickly and we received over a hundred photos. All of them are awesome and there’s a unique beauty in each. You may have the same problem as I had of which one to print. Although, she’s got this problem cover too :) One of the folder is called “Rachel favourite’s” and she’s got a good taste picking the best ones. Each photographer has his/her own style. I loved Rachel’s for capturing the joy that marriage has brought to us in such a bright, natural, delicate and elegant way. This reflects our personalities - she saw it and she captured it. If you like her style, submit your application. She’s worth waiting :)

I cannot recommend working with Rachel enough! She was so kind, professional, and very efficient throughout our session. In between shots- she took the time to talk with us, get to know us as a couple, and talk wedding plans. I cannot wait for another opportunity to work with her again in the future!

Rachel did our engagement shoot & though it turned out to be a rainy, gloomy day, the photos she took are fantastic. She's very organized (and has a great pdf guide she sends out beforehand) and great at explaining poses & making the shoot not feel awkward. Very much recommend!

Rachel is amazing! My husband and I has her take our newly wed photos and they all turned out so beautiful. She provided us with very thorough instructions on outfit selection (which even included examples!) that we both found very helpful and made us super confident in our selection. Rachel was funny, caring, and clearly passionate about photography and making sure you look your best in your photos. She took us (with no modeling skills whatsoever) and made us look and feel like model versions of ourselves for the session. The turnaround on sneak peaks and the final photos was incredibly quick, and there is not a bad photo in the bunch. Overall, I could not recommend Rachel highly enough and will absolutely be using her for any and all of our portrait needs in the future.

Rachel was so wonderful to work with! From the moment we submitted an inquiry to when we received our pictures, she was so friendly, professional, and organized. She had lots of suggestions and ideas on location and the timing to optimize the sunlight during the winter that we really appreciated. Rachel also directed us on how to pose without making it seem awkward, and we loved how the pictures turned out. She is very responsive to emails and got our pictures back to us way quicker than we anticipated. You can tell Rachel has a passion for what she does and all the people she works with, we loved working with her and highly recommend!

Rachel is a phenomenal photographer, a warm person, and her thorough planning help really helped us put together the best possible wedding day. She helped us feel comfortable in front of the camera for our engagement shoot and we felt like pros by the time our wedding day came around. Her photos turned out absolutely beautifully and she turns them around very fast! Because we had to scale down our wedding due to the pandemic, it has been a joy to send her blog post to friends and family who were not able to attend, and so many have commented that they feel as if they had been there because her photos really evoke the day and place.

Worked with Rachel for my surprise proposal photos, in DC's Meridian Hill Park. Every step of the process of the utmost quality and professionalism, and the photos were framed and edited in fantastic fashion. But the part that mattered most to me was an immediate and continuous feeling that I could trust Rachel with this moment. I was obviously highly anxious before proposing in general, but then you add in the factors of proposing in a somewhat crowded public place and getting that clean proposal shot, and that the pandemic was in full swing so another reason crowd avoidance was vital. How could I know she'd get the moment just right, especially given the numerous factors out of her control? And for both the proposal itself and the photo shoot that followed, I knew nothing about what poses or locations you'd normally want in this situation. Would she be able to nail the moments when we didn't even know what we ourselves wanted them to look like? Yes, yes, and yes. Rachel called the shots from beginning to end in terms of poses and the end result look even better than we could have imagined. She even managed to get a great picture of the engraving I put on the inside of the ring, which is absolutely tiny and nearly impossible to photograph. We received a handful of "sneak peek" pictures later that night, and the rest of the gallery not long after. Highly recommend Rachel for a proposal, wedding, or any other type of photogenic event, as it's clear she's an experienced pro, supportive voice, and someone you can trust to get it right. And hey, you might get a cool post on her blog!

Rachel took our engagement photos on Capitol Hill in DC, and they came out looking amazing! She will be doing our photos at our wedding in 2021 as well. Not only is she an awesome & knowledgable photographer, but she is also kind, friendly, and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera. The turnaround time to getting the digital images was also outstanding. I would recommend Rachel a million times!

Rachel was so easy to work with and we cherish and love her spectacular photos. She was responsive to our needs and we clicked right away. We loved her professional instructions and continued suggestions on the day of our wedding. We both wanted and needed her input since our ceremony was very small and she willingly helped our day become even better. Rachel truly went above and beyond to not only make our engagement photos perfect, but to make sure that our experience shooting them was special and positive. With a global pandemic going on, my bridal shower was postponed, dresses stuck in production and my wedding date is in question. I was feeling frustrated and down to say the least! Rachel made sure that she made these photos a very bright light in a dark time. She also was extremely patient and understanding with me and my anxious moments during this craziness!! The communication we received about our shoot and in the days leading up was both extremely professional, detailed and very personal. Rachel discussed weather conditions, made additional time slots and changes based on the bloom predictions; even up to the night before! This is something many photographers shooting cherry blossoms DO NOT do or offer. We really appreciated her working WITH us rather than at a distance, especially with everything else going wrong in the world. Rachel truly does tailor each shoot based on the couple's wishes and wants. She listened to our requests of pictures we had in mind, and was also so laid back and effective in giving us directions about posing. By the end of the shoot, my fiance (who hates pictures) practically looked like a natural! One of our friends commented that out of the 200+ pictures we received, not ONE looked awkward!! She has such a calming presence that puts you at ease when she's shooting. Her confidence is comforting, not intimidating. We are so over-the-moon with how these pictures came out! She was so fast in her editing, getting our entire album back in a week...including some sneak peeks the day of! The way she uses light and color around us is absolutely stunning, she is extremely talented and we cannot wait to print these and cover our house with them. I would recommend Rachel E.H. Photography for anything! Especially, cherry blossoms picture which were clearly her favorite thing and time in DC to shoot. We are so happy we chose her to shoot these pictures we have been dreaming about for years. If we were getting married in the area, we would've wanted her to do our wedding too. Now, we'll just have to think of another excuse to get some more photos taken by her in DC!

On a very chilly, fall morning, Rachel was up for the adventure of hiking Great Falls National Park to capture our beautiful engagement photos. She made us feel very comfortable - and also introduced us to many poses. We never felt rushed at all. We definitely got our money's worth and more! Highly recommend.

Rachel was our wedding photographer in Baltimore. She was one of the best vendors we worked with throughout the process! I cannot recommend her highly enough. 3 of my friends were getting married after me, and I urged them all to use Rachel too. They have all been as happy as we were with her! She offers great services at a really competitive cost! Rachel was so organized and professional, but also a really fun person to have around for the wedding itself. She made us look like movie stars at our engagement photos and on our wedding day. I really recommend the engagement photos as an easy way to get acclimated to having your photo taken, and a good way to have some great pictures of you and your partner to use for save the dates! Photography was the easiest part of wedding planning thanks to her, and now we have some great shots to remember our happiest day forever!

We did an engagement photo shoot with Rachel and the entire process was amazing. She was very accessible and open to all ideas. She made our engagement shoot so much fun - even my fiancé enjoyed himself! Not only was the engagement shoot enjoyable, but she produced the highest quality photos. I stumbled upon Rachel on the IG and loved her work right off the bat...bright, light and airy. Plus I noticed that all the couples in her pictures seemed genuinely happy and relaxed. This was big for my (now) husband and I when choosing a photographer. We aren’t naturally comfortable in front of the camera, so we wanted someone who would make us feel at ease. I met Rachel once and I hired her without having to meet anyone else. We skipped engagement pics and went straight for the wedding day. We got married at the Inn at Perry Cabin this past September. Rachel was superb. She did an amazing job of being there at all times without making you feel like she was there, all at the same time. Everyone enjoyed her. She was professional and fun...even getting on the dance floor after some convincing ;-). The best part, she captured the most beautiful pictures! I couldn’t be happier! She really took the time beforehand to understand what I wanted captured, and she nailed it! I really hope to use Rachel again in the future for another event!

We loved our engagement photo shoot with Rachel! My fiancee and I were nervous about having an engagement photo shoot but knew we wanted to have that memory - after speaking with Rachel on the phone (we spoke for almost 45 minutes on our phone call!), I felt very at ease and confident about working with her. I didn't even feel the need to speak with other photographers. Rachel gave the perfect amount of direction and was extremely professional - prompt communication, gave me a great recommendation for hair and makeup, and was ready to go at 6:45 AM ! I loved all the photos she took and she REALLY listened to what we wanted. I even forgot I originally told her of a few poses I wanted to do, and she reminded me to make sure we got them! She turned around our edited photos super quickly (I love her bright photo style) and had great communication even after our shoot (about prints, blog posts, etc.). She truly went above and beyond for our photo shoot at the National Cathedral. Worth every penny!

Rachel was the first vendor we booked for our wedding and from start to finish she was amazing. The engagement shoot we did with her that was included in her package was an amazing experience. She did a great job capturing us and helping us feel so relaxed. Having that experience helped everything feel so natural on the wedding day. Leading up to the wedding Rachel was in constant communication with us helping us with whatever we needed. Come wedding time she made everything so easy. I gave her a few hit times and she literally gave me my schedule for the day so there was no question about what needed to happen and when. Whenever I wasn’t sure about something I looked at her and she seemed to always have the answer whether it was about he pictures or not. She is a huge reason my day was a success and my pictures turned out amazing. She captured every moment and every feeling perfectly. I would recommend her to everyone and anyone I know. She is an amazing photographer and an even more amazing person.

UPDATED Review after our wedding photos (7/19/19) Rachel took our Wedding photos just a few weeks ago and wow, I am in love. She was so professional, organized and kept to a very strict timeline, but also bending just enough to make sure we got the photos we wanted. What I really appreciated is that since we got married during a heatwave, she put ours and our guests comfort first. I had indicated some places for photos which would have been miserable in the sun, so her and the 2nd shooter walked the property to find more suitable places for photos of the group; and later in the evening, we continued couples photos at our favorite places when the sun and temps were more bearable. Most of all, I appreciated not having to think about any of it and the pictures all came out beautiful. She has a great eye, is very talented and made us feel so at ease while she was basically climbing a tree to take our photos. :) Overall, shes the total package when it comes to a photographer. We had sneak peeks in a matter of hours and a blog post within a few days.She is fun to work with, meets all of her deadlines and always delivers a great product (we had our engagement photos taken as well). I highly recommend Rachel for your event or photo session. 1st Photo session, Engagement Session, October 2019 Rachel took our engagement photos at Baker Park in Frederick, MD. She was so easy to work with and helped us to take really natural and fun photos. We had a few ideas of photos we wanted to take and she was able to capture everything we wanted, and more! She really puts her all into making you feel comfortable and getting some great shots, all the while having fun.She clearly loves what she does and it shows in her professionalism and the final product. Her turn around times are also great, we had our photos in just under two weeks, with some sneak peeks the night of, which just made us more excited to see them all! I would highly recommend Rachel!

Rachel was AWESOME to work with! So nice, we've used her twice! Rachel has been there for me on two of the most memorable days of my life- my engagement and my wedding. She worked with my husband to plan the perfect proposal and sent us back professional photos within hours of the shoot so we could share them with family and friends. Cell phone pictures are nice, but high resolution photos of the EXACT moment are even better. We were thrilled she was available to be our wedding photographer too. Rachel made the whole process seamless. She worked with our wedding planner to iron out all the fine details, helped us think through the major moments we wanted to capture, and found an experienced second shooter who brought additional knowledge of the venue. Rachel went above and beyond on our wedding day to ensure we got all the shots we wanted, and plenty of additional breathtaking unplanned shots as well. We got digital access to the full album (about 1,000 professionally edited pictures) before we had even returned from our honeymoon! If you have the chance to book Rachel for your engagement or wedding, absolutely take advantage!
