Rachel was our wedding and engagement photographer. My husband and I were honestly blown away... not just for the quality of her photos and her ability to capture the most beautiful moments for us, but also for her beautiful spirit and positive energy on our day! We both felt a little awkward in front of a camera at first but Rachel gave us a little direction and a lot of encouragement that led to fabulous photos of us, our families and wedding guests. No one tells you how important it is to surround yourself with vendor-partners who give you good vibes on your wedding day. It's obvious in retrospect, because you spend so much time on such an important day surrounded by these folks, but take it from us: it cannot be underrated. Rachel was not only so professional and on top of it, but she was also a joy to be around. She's extremely diligent, and made sure to capture all the photos we specifically wanted, even going so far as to find us late in the night and snap pictures of us with my grandparents who didn't participate in the original family photos. Without her, I wouldn't have remembered to do that and would have missed out on that precious, precious memory. We spoke to several other photographers at different price-points. While Rachel ended up being one of the more expensive photographers, we chose her for her ability to capture candid, beautiful moments and honestly feel like she was worth every penny! Rachel was truly amazing to work with! She shot our engagement shoot, our rehearsal dinner, and our wedding and I couldn’t be happier! She is easy to work with, and takes the most elegant, classic, timeless photos. She has an artistic eye and consistently delivers! One picture is better than the next. Rachel is an incredibly skilled photographer and an absolutely amazing person to work with! We hired Rachel for our engagement photoshoot and wedding. I was blown away by the quality of the photos and her style -- she has the perfect mix of the classic engagement photos with more artistic, documentary and candid style photos. I don’t have enough words to express how highly I recommend Rachel. We worked with her for both our engagement shoot and our wedding. She is such a talented photographer and has an amazing gift of capturing all of the emotions and also making sure things are aesthetically beautiful. Above that, though, she is such a special human and a joy to be around. Rachel is an incredibly talented photographer. She was my photographer for my wedding and captured our day beautifully. When I look back at our photos as we are now coming up on a year, the photos Rachel took capture such genuine emotion through candids as well as some posed pictures. Rachel is an incredible photographer and the sweetest human. You will quickly learn that those two things are not distinguishable for her - she is both your photographer and a fellow human who genuinely cares about you, your spouse, and your day. My husband and I first met Rachel at the beginning of 2020, and within the first few emails and the first phone call we knew she was going to be the right photographer for us. She is so excited, thoughtful, and positive that it's hard to be nervous around her! We booked her for an engagement shoot so we would get comfortable being in front of the camera and it was SUCH a good idea. We had a great day in Central Park even though it was FREEZING cold and she made some incredible portraits of us. When, only a few weeks later, we had to postpone our big wedding, she was right there with us. We were lucky enough to still have a small backyard wedding in 2020 on our original date and she caught all the lovely moments of that wedding - she even brought out her crazy talented jazz flute skills to entertain us when we weren't able to have live music! (She's multi-talented!) But what I really want to talk about is our April 2022 wedding. We had postponed with her of course, and when we reconnected a few months before the wedding it was like no time had passed. We were even able to renegotiate a bit since we had originally booked her for more time than we needed (due to a change in our venue). She was still funny, charming, upbeat, and thoughtful, but as time does to us all she had also developed an even truer eye and sense of self. We filled out a pre-wedding questionnaire, which shows her extreme attention to detail and organization. We knew she would be checking off everything on our list, and when the day came it was so easy to fall into that rhythm with her. But what I also noticed was how much more confident she was than two years prior. She was professional while still being the fun and funny woman we knew, she was seamlessly directing us and chatting with her second photographer to get all the shots, and she communicated flawlessly with him and the videographer, stepping back and/or taking control when needed. I never for a second doubted how incredible our photos were going to be. Rachel was exactly the presence you want at your wedding - calm but excited, exuberant and smiling, and meticulous about everything - even making sure my one errant curl was behaving when needed. She is truly a warm, thoughtful, and incredibly talented person. We are so grateful to her for everything and could not recommend her more highly. Thank you times a billion, Rachel!

Rachel was an absolute dream to work with! Not only do I LOVE her style of photography, but I knew from the first few emails we swapped back and forth that she was a lovely person who would make us feel comfortable during our photoshoot. Rachel was the best part of our wedding because she was the last thing I ever had to worry about! She was so on top of her game throughout the planning process, kept us informed every step of the way, and really took the time to get to know us leading up to the big day. We did an engagement session with her in addition to our wedding and we are so happy with how they turned out. My fiancé and I truly had a blast during our engagement photo session with Rachel. From the start, she made us feel comfortable and relaxed, while at the same time keeping us energized. I think it is safe to say that Rachel was my favorite wedding vendor to work with. Her pictures are absolutely gorgeous and she is an absolute pleasure to work with. Her bubbly energy is contagious and she makes everyone feel comfortable which may not seem like a big deal but for people who feel awkward in front of a camera like myself and some of my bridal party, it makes a huge difference. The weeks leading up to the wedding, Rachel was very accessible and happy to hop on a quick phone call to make sure we went over all our must-have photos and any other concerns we had. On the day of the wedding, she jumped right into action and started off by taking the most beautiful detail shots of our invitation, save the date, rings and jewelry. The day really does go by quickly, but I’m grateful for all the time we had before the ceremony to take bridal party and family portraits. She is also wonderful with children and we had a lot of them at my wedding and the pictures of them are priceless! Rachel also made sure to check in with me multiple times throughout the night to make sure we got all my must-have photos and if there was anything else I wanted a picture of on the spot. If you are looking for a wedding photographer, look no further. From the minute we spoke to Rachel on the phone, we knew we found our wedding photographer and we don’t have a single regret. Hiring Rachel for our wedding day photography was one of the best decisions we made! Rachel was not only incredible at making us feel comfortable and excited to take pictures, but she also genuinely felt like a friend the entire planning process and day of kept me calm. Rachel was wonderful to work with. We originally contracted Rachel to shoot our wedding. When we had to postpone our reception due to COVID and Rachel was not available for our new date, she was kind enough to put our deposit toward photographing our intimate ceremony instead. Rachel's style is very laid back which helped keep us relaxed throughout the day and our photos came out absolutely beautiful!

We had the pleasure of working with Rachel for our wedding and we can confidently say it was a great experience overall. From the moment we inquired with her, she had an energetic personality and really wanted to make sure all our questions were answered and she did that with joy. It was the perfect match and we felt super confident in the work we were going to receive. Lastly, she made sure we got every shot we wanted, even checking in one last time before she left. I can't forget the most important part, the photos! She delivered sneak peeks right away as promised and also delivered the full album on time as well, which I've heard not all photographers can accomplish. I would definitely book Rachel again!

My husband and I have had the pleasure of working with Rachel on three occasions now: an engagement shoot, for our wedding and for a newborn/family shoot. We can’t recommend her enough. Rachel is such a star. I’ve no doubt anyone lucky enough to have their wedding photographed by her will love her as much as we did. It was by chance I came across Rachel’s Instagram page, whilst planning our secret elopement to NYC from Scotland. Her documentary photography is artistic and emotive, and I knew instantly her style was right up my street, particularly her speciality in B&Ws. The elopement was a worry whether it would happen at all (Omicron trying its hardest to get in the way), but Rachel couldn’t have been more helpful in a time when I was a bag of nerves. She was always so warm, invested, enthusiastic and accommodating in any correspondence prior to the day – even acting as my local fixer in NYC, helping to advise about where to get flowers and more! She more than lived up to her hype on the elopement day itself. What a beautiful person; we always felt so cared for, and totally at ease the whole day. Neither my husband or I are particularly confident in front of camera, nor have we been properly photographed before, but Rachel took the time and care in her direction for the best shots, and equally knew exactly when to step back and let us embrace the special moments. I melted when I saw her sneak peaks and the full album was so full of love and effort, she really puts her all into every image. Rachel is a real delight and someone I’d stay in touch with long after the wedding day.

My husband and I truly cannot thank Rachel enough for capturing our wedding day so beautifully! When we got our sneak peek photos, I immediately bursted into happy tears! We knew our photos were going to be awesome based on her work we saw but our photos completely surpassed any expectation we could have possibly had. We had a very small wedding with just 10 family members so it was important for us to have these photos for not just ourselves, but to share with family and friends who weren't at our wedding. Rachel's style of photography feels like a beautiful movie when the photos are put together so our loved ones were blown away with how amazing they were and so happy they got to relive our day with us even though they weren't there. On a more personal level, I have always had such a hard time being comfortable in front of a camera and don't feel very photogenic but Rachel perfectly captured how beautiful I felt that day and how I really feel inside :) I don't think we can possibly express the amount of gratitude we have for Rachel and her incredible talent and the way she captured one of the most important days of our lives! We had a great experience with Rachel for our wedding! We loved her style of candid, intimate shots that really showcased the couple's connection and she did an amazing job on our engagement photos. After hearing what we were interested in, Rachel suggested a couple amazing locations - we actually went with an AirBnB tree house that she found that was so unique! Our wedding was unfortunately delayed due to the pandemic, and Rachel was one of the most understanding and easy vendors to work with. We knew it must have been tough for her and really appreciated her kindness. We're so happy with the photos from our wedding! Rachel is the best of the best! We booked her as our wedding photographer for an October 2020 wedding. She calmed our nerves and guided us with such ease during our 2019 photoshoot, we love our original engagement photos! When we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID, she was flexible and helpful in the rescheduling process. In addition, she still offered to get together with us on our original wedding date to capture a small, unofficial ceremony. We will cherish those memories forever. Words cannot describe how happy I am with the photographs that Rachel took of us. When we initially planned our wedding, we didn’t think of a budget for a photographer, especially as the two of us are very camera shy and body conscious. However, I secretly wished for the beautiful photos I had seen of from my friends’ weddings while simultaneously worried that we would look terrible in our photos regardless of our photographer. I came across Rachel’s profile on Instagram and loved the whimsical sense of the shots, the beautiful moody black-and-white photos that captured such depth in a single moment and the beautiful warm undertones in her photos. I reached out on a whim and after a wonderful first phone call, where she was so sweet, bubbly, sincere and worked with our budget, we booked her as our photographer. And the experience was exceptional. She was wonderfully professional the day of and worked with two camera shy, awkward people who were tense about not just photos, but how their day was going to be. She was somehow everywhere at once and took photos throughout without interrupting any moments! When we received the photos, I was in awe. I never knew we could look so happy and comfortable with our bodies. We looked as we were—not made up, not ultra-modified, but just as we are. And I loved the way we looked; everything from the goofy expressions to our resting faces—her photos made us appreciate ourselves a lot more. She also got pictures of me with my family—something that I had been waiting for since we postponed our wedding twice. It was a dream and I am so glad we hired her. She captured my mother's huge beam and the twinkle in my father's eyes. If you are self-conscious, if you have ever dreamed of beautiful photos, if you’re hesitant to take the first step—do it. Hire her. You will not regret it.

We had Rachel do our engagement photo shoot in Central Park and she did a fantastic job! She is so friendly and brings such a bright and positive energy, which made the experience so much fun for my husband and I. She also listens to your perspective and is good at integrating your ideas with her style. We were referred to her by our friends after looking at other photographers and I would definitely recommend her to anyone getting married who is still looking (in NY or out of state). I had spent time looking at other photographers and asking friends for their recommendations, but I liked her editing style the most and was impressed with the photos on her Instagram account. If you are considering her, I would suggest booking her sooner rather than later because I know her schedule fills up quickly. Although we were not able to use her as our wedding photographer because she was already booked, we did see her in action at our friend’s wedding along with the results, and she did an amazing job!

Rachel understood the assignment! To be honest, we knew we wanted her as our photographer from the moment we browsed her website. Meeting her via zoom only confirmed it. She gave us the "in the moment" gallery we could only dream of. I love how she paid attention to all of the little details in our conversation and truly delivered and brought it to life. I happened to mention that I love film photography during our conversation and on our wedding day Rachel showed up with her film camera in hand and ready to go! Let me start by saying we love Rachel! As a person and as a photographer!!! She was the full package--both professional and personable. The candid moments as well as posed pictures she captured were exactly what we wanted. I am usually camera shy and had difficulty giving instruction on what I wanted my photos to look like, but she was pretty much a mind reader and perfectly caught the mood/vibe I was looking for. She made my whole family feel super comfortable in front of the camera...needless to say they all loved her too! This is the kind of photographer Rachel is -- when we were planning the wedding, I was so crammed with planning that I didn't have time to think about anything past the actual ceremony and brunch. My fiancee (now wifey!) and I found Rachel while browsing online and couldn’t be happier that we hired her! Her style is a mix between editorial and candid- something that is great for storytelling tool to our family and kids in the future :) Her energy is very uplifting and she really made us feel comfortable and laughing through the entire photoshoot. My Wife and I can not even begin to define the type of service Rachel Rodgers provides because it is like no other professional. From start to finish, Rachel was not only through and communicative but basically our EVERYTHING at our wedding. Wait?! What do I mean?! We could not have been more thrilled about having Rachel as our wedding photographer! Leading up to the wedding she was proactive and organized, hosting a call to talk through all the details of the day and my vision. She was very receptive of my wishes for the photos and she delivered exactly what I described! My favorite part about Rachel was the way she made the day so easy for me. While some of my other vendors were causing me stress, she was a sense of calm throughout the entire day. We could not have asked for a better photographer to work with. When I attended my best friend's wedding, she had Rachel as her photographer and her energy and kindness was just contagious! We had our engagement shoot in Manhattan with Rachel in Oct 2021, and I was SO nervous in the days leading up to it. Being in front of the camera is not my favorite thing, but as soon as Rachel arrived and started taking those first few shots, all of my worries melted away. I felt like I was hanging out with a friend the entire time! Rachel is incredible at directing for both artistic, serious poses and natural, candid poses with pure emotion emanating through the finished product. We chose Rachel because her pictures were not classical like what we saw out there and we were not disappointed, Rachel did a great job shooting our wedding and the following elopement. She managed angles and lighting really well with our outdoors and backlit location and made herself invisible during the ceremony while getting some great shots of our friends and family. A special thank to her for almost doubling as a wedding planner as she suggested the venue and the officiant to us on top of photo locations and directing us for poses and composition.

Rachel did our Engagement photoshoot around Williamsburg and Dumbo and they came out SO CUTE. She definitely has an eye for catching candids and getting you and your loved one to snuggle up & be natural in pics. Her style was perfect for NYC skyline photos - editorial / flash to capture the night skyline in all its glory. Some shots that are my absolute favorite: eating pizza on the sidewalk in front of Joe's Pizza, all of the photos of my dog & Rachel had us dance a little & my fiance to twirl me around, and that is now our save the date photo! Rachel was so fun and made us awkward photo people feel natural and end up looking natural in the pics, which were turned around pretty quickly!!

Let me tell you, we got married on 2.2.2020, and the lines outside city hall were a two hour long wait! We were all cold and weren’t expecting waiting outside for that long. Enter Rachel! With her amazing energy and enthusiasm. After she arrived, I didn’t realize a minute that went by in the cold because she made the whole experience so much fun! Look no more because you have found yourself the best wedding photographer in the trip state area. Not only will she make you look like celebrities, but she will also make the whole experience stress free and just fun. In addition, your family will also LOVE her! All of us captured by Rachel felt like ourselves in the pictures that she took of us, her skills as a photographer are top notch! Ours was a three day fiesta with Indian and American ceremonies, all the three days were not only celebrated but also each moment was beautifully captured by the pictures Rachel took of us. The best part about the experience with Rachel was that she took time before the process to really understand what me and my husband stood for as a couple, what we wanted from our pictures, and what was important to us. Rachel's kind, outgoing energy and cinematic eye was the perfect compliment to our blustery, fast paced autumn city hall wedding in NYC. Because of the cool weather, (and the pandemic) we had a lot of outdoor group situations and she was able to really roll with it all, shoot fast and get great work! We were particularly impressed with her candid shots of our roving families throughout the day as we moved from ceremony to our intimate reception. Part of the reason it was so smooth was her process of getting to know us and our interest's and style with a zoom interview before our big day. I'd imagine she's able to cater to various styles and demands with that kind of prep. She really captured the spirit of us but also all our families; the kids and grandparents and everyone in between! She delivered images in a wide range of styles and feelings from super high fashion, polished editorial, to black and white street photography, classic formal color and even the spirit and simple beauty of flash snapshots. She even busted out some real black and white and reversal film stocks (as per our request) for some luscious and romantic grainy moments. We love the pictures and we had a great time working with her. Lastly, I'd like to highlight Rachel's ability to take the the stage when she needed to corral us all and also blend in to the sideline to get those amazing candid shots when she found them.

We got very lucky having Rachel photograph our wedding! She captured the spirit and the essence of our special day very well. Given that it was the peak of Covid and we were limited to 10 people, Rachel’s presence was not only that of a photographer, but also of a guest and family member. Picking a photographer was one of the more stressful parts of the planning process for me. I clicked page after page, and although I saw some really beautiful images, I couldn't seem to find our fit, and Juan agreed. For us, catching "the moments" was top priority. Then we came across Rachel's page. She truly checked all of the boxes, and wasn't afraid to play with fun, "artsy" shots. Not to mention, her attention to detail and color is game changing. Filters are popular right now, but Rachel's eye for natural and sharp color is timeless. She also made us feel super comfortable during shooting. This was really important to me because I've never done anything like this before! Our pictures came out classic, romantic, joyful, and natural. Rachel was the perfect photographer for our wedding! We actually found her when I contacted Berkley School of Music looking for a string quartet. Rachel responded, mentioned that she plays the flute, and proceeded to let me know that she was also a great photographer and was going to photograph our wedding! She not only did so but also, on the fly, sat in with the quartet for a set. We ended up having her for the entire day and are so glad we did so. Rachel has a fantastic personality, is energetic, accomodative, and has a very thoughtful approach to scouting out locations, staging photos, and making us feel at ease. Our photos are a combination of portraits and wonderful candids, in color and black and white. One of our favorites is from right after the ceremony when Rachel moved the entire wedding party from the Boston Common to the front of our trolley and had guests raise hands in the air with the two of us in the center. We also hired Rachel a second time a couple years later to create a photo journal of our sweet little rat terrier, Button. It was so much fun to work with her a second time and we're looking forward to our next opportunity. We could not more enthusiatically recommend Rachel for your next event!!
