She will make you feel comfortable in front of the camera, play some music, and laugh with you. I am an awe of her energy and her passion for the work that she does. Rachel is incredibly easy to communicate with and adds her own personal touch to what she does (a congratulations on your engagement box, a slideshow with music, and photos delivered fast!). Throughout my life I have been so drawn to photos and documenting all of life's moments. When I got engaged I knew that finding the perfect photographer was top of my list - I'm so lucky I was able to find Rachel for my special day. Rachel takes amazing photos that capture all the things you experience on your day as well as the things you miss out on so you can catch up on them later. The hands-down best ever wedding photographer you will hire. I found Rachel the day after we got engaged, and said to myself - I need her at my wedding. After three years, multiple postponements due to Covid, we finally made it happen, and I felt so validated. Rachel was professional, communicative and attentive. She was also so much freakin fun, running around with her little portable music speaker, and she was so good at putting everyone at ease, wrangling family members and friends for photo shoots. My husband does not like to take photos, and even he had fun. The photos turned out so great - colorful, fun, full of love and natural moments, exactly how we wanted to remember our special weekend. All you need to know about Rachel's photography is that we booked her before we had a wedding venue. No matter where we tied the knot, we were going to look damn good doing it. Rachel is a goddess - she has an innate gift for making you comfortable in front of the camera and capturing the big moments, the little moments and everything in between. A one-woman hype squad, she will have you laughing and enjoying every moment of your wedding day. My husband and I never look better than we do in Rachel's photos - and the (only?) upside of COVID is that we will have a chance to have even more photos taken with her this year during our reception.

Rachel's photos are absolutely amazing, and I think speak for themselves when you see them. They capture all the love and emotions of the day. But what you can't see from the photos is how amazing Rachel herself is! We had SO many friends and family members comment on how much they loved Rachel.. and they hadn't seen a single photo yet! They loved that she made taking pictures fun, and she played music and made them dance and made them just feel comfortable and relaxed. We were excited when she arrived on wedding day because we had already had so much fun taking our engagements photos with her. With Rachel you are going to get the most amazing photos AND you are going to laugh and smile and have so much fun doing it. We can't recommend Rachel enough!

OH MY GOD is all I can say!! If you are looking for a photographer for your wedding just stop because without a doubt Rachel is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! Her photos are just beyond spectacular. She capture every special moment of our day and I felt that my husband and I personalities just shined through her photos. She was an absolute joy to work with. I felt like I was hanging out with a girl friend. Her personality is just contagious and had us laughing the whole day. Wow, what can I say about Rachel. She delivered 100% as a photographer plus way more. A lot of wedding transactions feel more like business deals, but that’s not how I felt when working with Rachel. She is genuinely invested in you as a couple and truly wants you to have the best day and memories you can have, regardless of how things are going weather wise, family wise, or planning wise. What she cares about is showing your love through images, but also helping to ensure you have the most perfect day. My brother and sister in law got married before I did. They looked around the whole country to find a photographer. They now wish after being a part of my wedding, that they had worked with Rachel and want her to even retake some of their photos! And she was right here, locally on Pittsburgh the whole time! I’m not much of a bragger, but I praise Rachel over and over to everyone I know, about how amazing she was. I have so many images post wedding and am still having a hard time choosing which to put in an album because they are all SO AMAZING. I found her through friends who had also booked her for their weddings and have only heard the same thoughts and feelings that I also experienced! It took me a while to write a review because of so many changes that happened post wedding, but I wanted to make sure I communicated my experiences at some point. You cannot go wrong by booking a Rachel! She is the absolute best!!!

We could not recommend Rachel Rowland more highly. She and her second shooter captured every special moment of our wedding. From the days prior to the big day itself, she flat-out delivered. Rachel is personable and exuberant, which made getting our photos taken feel fun, instead of like a chore. She has a keen eye too, and her sense of style is very sharp. Additionally, she skillfully ensured she got shots of everyone, including us (the happy couple), the bridal party, and family members. Not only that, given the flurry of excitement on our wedding day, she captured so many moments we didn't even see, so when we reviewed our photos, it was like we got to live our wedding day over again. It was so special. Rachel even drove out to Pittsburgh to our wedding venue north of Philadelphia to photograph our wedding. We were so appreciative she was willing to do so. Holy freaking moly - what can I say!? We booked our wedding date based on Rachel’s availability and brought her all the way to Asheville, NC - knowing she has a true gift!! From the moment we first connected, Rachel has been available, very responsive, and able to answer any single question we had. When chatting with her, it’s like she was already inside our heads ready to bring our vision to life, and she truly exceeded our needs every step of the way. We knew we have any other photographer to capture our day! We initially had planned to do a woodsy engagement photo shoot, but unfortunately the weather had other plans. That being said, Rachel had the perfect alternative, that still gave us the woodsy feel we were looking for! She even was kind enough to capture our pups - and she did an awesome job (they couldn't stay still!) Regardless, we have our new favorite family photo! She truly has a way of capturing emotions, and is able to bring you back into that exact moment.  During both our engagement and wedding shoot, Rachel made us feel extremely comfortable (knowing we are far from models!!) During the wedding, Rachel crushed the timeline, was extremely flexible, and made sure that we were taken care of throughout the day. When receiving our teaser, Nathan and I got a glimpse into each other's day leading up to the ceremony (and felt like we were there!!) - because Rachel is that damn good.  Our entire wedding party could not stop raving about how much fun Rachel is - and made all our photo shoots during the day an absolute blast. Our families loved her, too! She was able to capture every single request they had - and more! We're beyond excited to share the moments with all our family and friends!  We cannot wait to call Rachel to help us capture every big moment in our lives from here on out! Thank you a million times over, we couldn’t have pictured our day without you!

Rachel blew us out of the water with her talent of our wedding photography. Her photos of our wedding not only made us look like absolute rockstars, but more importantly, they captured the genuine emotion and excitement and happiness and chaos and behind-the-scenes and heart-stopping moments throughout the entire day that told our story so clearly and accurately about who we are to our very core. Rachel is hands down the best photographer in Pittsburgh. When it came time for us to select a wedding photographer, we knew within looking at just 2-3 photos that she was the one we wanted. Not only is she incredible at taking and editing photos, but she is also incredible at giving direction and making her photo subjects feel totally comfortable in front of the camera. Hire Rachel. Photography was a top priority for us and Rachel blew us away. I can write a review about how unbelievably talented she is - but all you need to do is check out her portfolio to see that first hand. What I can tell you beyond her work is that she is just an amazing human being. And on your wedding day, you want amazing people surrounding you! I had my initial phone call with Rachel and after an hour I hung up and looked at my fiancé and said "I found our photographer and I think maybe my new best friend." That is just Rachel - she will make you laugh, feel relaxed and capture the most unbelievable photos of you on your big day. When I got our photos back, I laughed and cried. She didn't know any of my family or friends, but somehow captured all of their personalities perfectly. Don't make a mistake and hire an amateur - seriously don't. These photos are going to be something that is treasured for generations to come. Everyone at my wedding - parents, bridal party, etc. - kept commenting on how great Rachel was and how she kept everyone in line and on time, while still having a blast the entire day! We can't thank her or recommend her enough!

Rachel is absolutely AMAZING! We recently received our gallery back from our wedding and each and every photo transported us right back to the best day of our lives. There is so much heart and talent in what Rachel does and we could not have made a better choice. The day of the wedding Rachel came in and it was as if we had known her forever - she makes you feel so comfortable, and for someone who is usually not very comfortable around a camera, she and Jerry made you feel like it was completely natural. We are so beyond grateful that they were a part of our wedding day and that we now have the most perfect photos to hang in our home forever.

Rachel and her team are amazing. A true professional - she listens to your needs, provides honest feedback when advised, and is SO MUCH FUN to work with. Leading up to our wedding, Rachel asked for a lot of detail regarding our family, our vision, our wish list, etc. to ensure that she is providing what my husband and I really wanted from her services. Fun fact - our limo broke down from the church to the destination where pictures were going to be taken before the reception, and Rachel 100% stepped up to the plate and saved the day with an impromptu Plan B. The pictures turned out AMAZING - But honestly, I was just as impressed by how quick on her feet she is and how willing she is to go above and beyond for her clients. Rachel captured our wedding day so beautifully and authentically and was the most fun, enjoyable human ever while doing it. I was genuinely sad when her and her husband had to our wedding leave that night. Aside from marrying my husband and having our closest family and friends there, Rachel was BY FAR the best decision we made. Our bridal party and families raved about how wonderful she was - individual and group photos were so organized and quick. The way she gets everyone to relax and laugh is just amazing and it really shows through in the photos she captures. Immediately after getting engaged, we booked Rachel and it was absolutely the best decision we made! Rachel was SUCH a great photographer to work with! We did our engagement session with her and it was so much fun that we couldn't wait for the wedding! She's so energetic and easy going. I met Rachel in college and have been a fan of her photography ever since. She's incredibly talented and somehow manages to capture not only the beauty but also the feeling of each moment. I'm so glad that we were able to book her for our engagement photos and our wedding. On top of that she does a great job making you feel more comfortable in front of the camera. She didn't waste a moment and got all of the shots on our list (which was extensive). My only regret is that we I wish we had booked her longer!

While sitting here beginning to write a review for Rachel Rowland Photography- I am honestly speechless. There aren't enough words in the dictionary for me to use to describe her excellence. Rachel did an amazing job on both our engagement photos and our wedding photos! She is friendly, passionate, and SO talented. Rachel flew to San Francisco (7 months pregnant!) to photograph my wedding and I couldn't have imagined having anyone else capture our day. Rachel Rowland is not only one of the best photographers I've seen, she's also a super awesome person, and she's a blast to work with! Not only is Rachel Rowland a true artist when it comes to photography, but her and her husband Jerry are two of the kindest people I've ever met. On your wedding day you end up spending a significant amount of time with your photographer, and being able to feel comfortable around them is essential. My husband Mark and I were SO SO SO lucky to have found Rachel to be apart of our big day! I am extremely lucky to have found Rachel. She was recommended to my by another studio that was booked on my wedding day, which turned out to be a good thing. SERIOUSLY, BOOK HER ASAP!! Rachel and Jerry shot my brother and sister-in-law's wedding, and I was absolutely blown away by the moments they captured and the gorgeous photos my family received. There were many times throughout the day when she would ask us to pose for a photo, and it was something completely different than anyone in the wedding party had ever done before, and Rachel just said, 'trust me, it'll look great'. We had already seen the engagement photos Rachel shot for my brother and sister-in-law, so we knew what she could do, and we knew that trusting her was a no-brainer. The results were nothing but absolutely unbelievable and stunning photos. Rachel was able to capture the soft, beautiful, special moments of the ceremony and the crazy, fun, energetic dancing at the reception. I can't echo all the other raving reviews enough. Not only does Rachel and her husband help to make your big day such a pleasure, she does her thing without adding an ounce of stress to the schedule. They are funny, dynamic and professional. I have been in weddings where the photographer really takes away from the fun of the day and dominanates the schedule/inserts themselves in a way that you aren't able to enjoy the moment. Not the case with Rachel! She has a way of doing her job while being as invisible as possible. The result is flawless, candid, creative photos. She makes sure to get every picture that you want but where she really shines is when she does her own thing and captures moments that will BLOW YOUR MIND!!!! Can't recommend enough, oh and my album...STUNNING. Yes, yes and yes.

Seriously...where do I start!? There are so many things about Rachel that make her work amazing. Her photos are truly some of the best I've ever seen. Long before I knew that she would be our wedding photographer, I was admiring her work from afar. Okay - I was totally stalking her site all the time. Her photos capture more than just your classic stoic/standing/super traditional look. She assesses each setting, group of people, mood, character, vibe - whatever you want to call it - and makes something beautiful! She is able to bring out the best in people, not only by just making them smile, but really show casing who they are. I never knew that so much could be said through a photograph. As well as just being a phenomenal photographer, she is a great person too! (What a plus, right!?) She's fun loving, genuine, encouraging, and just really makes you feel at ease. I didn't feel the slightest bit nervous or awkward being followed around by this smiley woman with a camera all day. :-) And finally, another important thing to note is her upstanding professionalism. She puts so much time and care into your work, and doesn't take any short cuts. She takes the time to get to know you and what you're looking for, and then delivers it! I am SO thankful for Rachel's wonderful art, our photos will be treasured for decades, hopefully shown to our children and grand-children! Also, Rachel took our engagement photos as well (included in your wedding package), and we really had a blast doing that! It was mid-November, and even though it was a bit chilly, we found some gorgeous scenery and everything turned out wonderfully.

Rachel is amazing. We had an engagement shoot with her before the wedding and she did a great job at making us feel at ease and enjoy the shoot (especially helpful for my husband, who was not super happy to have to pose for photos for an hour and a half!), and they turned out beautifully. At our wedding, she was incredibly professional and did such a good job capturing all the little moments from our wedding. We ended up with such a good mix of serious, happy, goofy and (slightly) tipsy photos - I can't recommend her enough!

In fact, you will soon feel that she is not only the photographer, but a friend of the family. From the first 'getting ready' shots, to the first look, and everything else through out the day, they not only took amazing pictures but they truly were able to bring the emotions of the day to these photos. Over and over, those who saw my daughters wedding pictures made the same comments: "You can feel the love" in these pictures. They just seemed to know where to be & when to snap (And remain completely hidden at the same time)and we ended up with a wedding album that I don't think can ever be matched. Period. Rachel comes with her own unique & creative ideas, and incorporates your personality into each shot and you end up with real treasures! When researching photographers for our wedding, I found that there were two types of photographers out there: the "OK" photographers who got the necessary shots with decent or passable quality and little to no imagination, and then there were artists whose photos were creatively framed, carefully thought-out, and showed a skill with a camera that produced excellent quality. I was also looking for an engagement shoot so that I could get to know the photographer and have photos to use to announce our upcoming nuptials. Understandably, all of the "artists" I looked into charged more than what we had budgeted for photography, and those that were within our price range were merely "ok"- some included engagement sessions, some did not, others charged extra for a second shooter. THEN I FOUND RACHEL!!!! Her photos are artistic, creative, timeless... her husband joins her for wedding shoots and she includes an engagement session at no extra cost and gives you full rights to the files to re-print, post and distribute as you choose. She truly offered everything I was looking for, no strings attached, and best of all, her rates were just within my budget. I snatched up her last opening in June and never looked back. Just before our big day, Rachel provided me with a form to fill out detailing what shots I would like and what details I definitely didn't want overlooked so that on the day she was prepared and didn't have to me or my bridal party a million questions! I was even able to share a pinterest board with her of some of the styles of posed photos I liked and she picked up on my aesthetic right away and found ways to work my ideas into our portraits. On my wedding day, Rachel was cheerful, friendly and focused. She is the perfect "people wrangler" and she even got our little cousins to smile for the camera! She and her husband are experts at going with the flow and even helped us out a couple of times when little things went wrong during our day! It was an absolute delight to work with her and I would highly recommend Rachel to any Pittsburgh area brides out there who are looking for a modern and classy photographer who puts you and your day first!

About 3 minutes into our engagement session, we felt like we had known the two of them for years. They make you feel so comfortable which totally reflects in front of the camera. Our engagement session pictures came out beautiful and I cannot wait to see our wedding pictures!! (I did get a little 'sneak peek' of two shots that were fabulous!) My groom was 6'6" and his best man was 6'9" so it was great to have a tall guy (Jerry) as the second shooter. Rachel makes up for her tiny tinyness in personality, though... oh and she also bought a step-stool for our wedding! Being tiny isn't always a bad thing, though, because I'm pretty sure she was able to sneak up on some guests and get some GREAT candid shots!!!
