Hi! I'm Rachel, an intimate wedding and elopement photographer. If you are looking for a personal and adventurous experience from start to finish, I'm your girl. Alaska is my home state and I am passionate about sharing the beauty and wilderness of Alaska with couples. I artistically capture the natural moments throughout your day, and I'm committed to being the photographer you need. You should be able to enjoy being in love on your wedding day, and when you look at the images after.
My goal is to make the planning stages simple and the day of your wedding relaxed and stress free. The photographs of your day will be natural, documentary, and artistic from the big picture to the details. You'll feel comfortable and at ease because I have an outgoing and peaceful personality that makes the process easy and fun. And if you're looking for videography, my husband works with me to offer beautiful highlight videos. We will be the support team you didn't know you needed! Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and we owe it all to Rachel. From our first consultation Rachel made us feel like long time friends and by the end of our wedding day we felt like family! She is so talented, professional and thoughtful. It was amazing seeing her dedication in providing us with such a memorable moment. I look forward to when I can work with her again! Mainly just to be in her presence! Thank you so much Rachel! Still not over the magic you brought to our day!!!
When you hire Rachel you will receive a hype buddy, someone to share laughs with, and a safe person to feel all the feels with.
I have been following Rachels work for the past 7 years admiring her style/the person she is and was dreaming of the day I could hire her for my own wedding. I had two must haves for my wedding, one being my husband and the other being Rachel as my photographer. Part way through planning she found out she was pregnant and was due around my date so she wouldn’t be able to be there the day of. Rachel stayed in constant communication with me and made sure to set me up with a photographer that I trusted. Although she wasn't actually there on my wedding day but she still had a huge part in it. From helping me plan, set up my timeline, and making sure I was comfortable with all the changes. I still had her style since she edited the photos from the associate photographer. The photos are everything I could have wanted. Rachel is kind and so passionate about her work. You can’t go wrong with hiring her.
Rachel was wonderful to work with! She was the only professional vendor we booked and are so thrilled we did. Not only are the photos of our intimate elopement wedding in the Prince William Sound gorgeous, but she fit in seamlessly with our tiny 10-person wedding party. She was climbing ship stacks and into zodiacs in the rain without batting an eye. So happy we got to work with her!
Rachel is an absolutely amazing photographer!! She goes above and beyond to help make your day special and continues to make us feel special even after the wedding us over. She truly has a heart for the people she gets to work with. You will not be disappointed if you choose her to be your photographer!
I can’t express how great Rachel was for our wedding and engagement pictures! She is such a pro at what she does; she moved us, our family, and our bridal party through the necessary shots so easily and quickly. Ben, her husband and second shooter, was incredible! I can’t say enough about his help and talent. Their calm and happy attitude made the stress and anxiety of the day much easier. Rachel was like a constant supporting friend reminding us to breathe, take in the moment, and smile. She is absolutely the best. We couldn’t be happier with the pictures and memories from our day!
Rachel was the best photographer I could’ve asked for! I actually booked her before my husband and I were officially engaged. I could tell through her social media that she is super genuine and that was important to me. She is easy and fun to work with, fits in easily with you and your people, and keeps things real and comfortable!
Having Rachel as our photographer was absolutely phenomenal! From our very first phone call we could tell how invested she was in getting to know us as a couple and the story of our relationship, wanting to provide as personal of an experience as possible. It's so clear that Rachel cares deeply about making sure we had a relationship with her, that we were comfortable around one another and just having a blast throughout every session (engagement, wedding, AND day-after adventure!).
We appreciate the balance she had between posing us as well as just capturing candid moments during our sessions, listening to what ideas we had for the photos but also using her own experience to guide the sessions overall and making sure every moment counted.
We're so grateful for her flexibility in working with us when day-of timeline didn't go perfectly (when does it ever?!), her communicativeness throughout our whole wedding season to make sure everyone was on the same page, and her genuineness that made us feel like friends rather than we were just working together. We would absolutely jump at the opportunity to work with her radiant self again in the future.
Rachel was by far the most amazing photographer I could have asked for. She was very professional, answered all my questions quickly prior to our wedding day and really took the time to get to know us a couple. On the day she made me feel so comfortable and confident. She was incredibly easy going and creative. We received our photos back very quickly and could not be happier!
Rachel is nothing but professional, artistic, and so down to earth. Shy in front of the camera? She's got you! Her prices are nothing but reasonable and you definitely get your monies worth! She was both our engagement and wedding photographer. She was so flexible and communicated with you the whole experience!
Rachel is an absolute delight to work with. This summer for our wedding, she did a fantastic job. She immediately put me at ease and took a lot of beautiful candid shots, shots of the venue (outdoor), and posed shots. Not only does she take awesome photos, but she helped with the planning process, and having an open line of communication through the whole process. Her husband, Ben, did our wedding video which was perfect! Both of their personalities meshed with mine and my husband's well. You will be doing yourself a favor if you hire her!
Rachel and her husband Ben were the perfect choice to trust with our wedding photos! They ran around with us in the rain ALL DAY and were nothing but excited for us, while capturing countless perfect photographs. Rachel was a breeze to work with ahead of time - just a text message away - and incredibly helpful for this not-so-girly girl! She helped me think about some things ahead of time that I never would have thought of, but were such sweet touches for my family and friends! Working w Rachel was a dream, I couldn’t have image a more perfect photographer and person to spend the day with. She has such a great vibe and makes not only your day, but planning from the beginning at ease. She’s very knowledgeable and helpful when needed with recommendations. They were extremely friendly, kind, fun & easy to work with, FLEXIBLE and professional. Most importantly, their work is so, incredibly beautiful. We would choose Rachel Struve Photography over and over and over!
When we were looking for engagement photographers, it was a no-brainer to choose Rachel....and we're so glad that we did! She was easy to work with and a great communicator.... She made us laugh and feel comfortable throughout the whole shoot. She gave great cues about where we should place hands and feet, and positioned us perfectly for each shot. Even before we settled on a location for our shoot, Rachel was super invested in us and in our dream. It was wonderful working with her!
When choosing a photographer for our wedding, we needed look no further than Rachel Struve Photography. The clear communication, the awesome price, the great package (which included a short engagement shoot we didn't even plan to worry about!), the followups to make sure everything was just how we wanted--it was all professional and high quality work. I had absolutely no stress when considering this aspect of our wedding. We knew everything on her end was well in hand, and we couldn't be happier with the result we now have to share with friends and family. 10/10
