We were married at the Racquet Club on 3/3/2024 and we were so thankful we chose it as our venue! It poured rain all day leading up to our ceremony, but thanks to the Racquet Club’...
s kind staff and large getting ready area, we were able to have the wedding and photos of our dreams and never had to worry about the weather! It was a huge amount of space for our guests and it’s so beautiful we didn’t spend much on decorating, we got to let the building speak for itself. The hotel rooms were comfortable and the space is utilized so well for weddings, so even if you’re doing ceremony + reception all in one space it feels like different events with the way they transition the space. Would highly recommend!
We got married at the Racquet Club this past weekend and have nothing but positive things to report - Laura was a huge help throughout the whole planning process from day one, and ...
JAM catering is wonderful as well. Laura was consistently responsive and informative, and super helpful in working with us to make our vision a reality. The food was incredible, and they even went out of their way to make a salt-free dish for my grandmother with health issues.
The Racquet Club itself is a gorgeous historical building and sporting club right in the middle of downtown, with plenty of hotels in the area for our many out-of-town guests. The RCOP also has 13 guest rooms of its own, so we were able to get ready on site and had everything upstairs for if we needed it during the event - plus family members were able to stay there for the weekend! It was also really special to have the different spaces for the different parts of the night - the entryway/grand hall for the ceremony (which later becomes the dance floor!), the red room/library for cocktail hour, and the dining room for dinner. It made our large wedding still feel very intimate, but never overly crowded. We also booked the downstairs pub for the afterparty, which was a really nice way to end the night. Having everything for the day in one place made everything so easy, and the Racquet Club itself is a perfect venue for it.
I'm getting married at the Racquet Club this June. Everyone at Jeffrey A. Miller Catering (JAM), the exclusive caterer for this venue, and the Racquet Club has been great so far as...
we prepare for the wedding! We first met at the venue with Laura from JAM about a year ago - she took a lot of time to show us around the venue & answer all of our questions. After seeing the space & meeting with her, choosing to have our wedding reception there was an easy decision. The venue is so beautiful and spacious. It's classic and has a ton of character. They were very accommodating & worked with us when our first choice of date wasn't available. Our contract & down-payment process was also very simple & straightforward.
Over the past year, Laura has always been very accessible through E-mail to answer questions. The staff at the Racquet Club has been very helpful too - they were courteous enough to let my parents drop by on a week day to look at the space and the upstairs guest rooms (which are an added bonus of this venue).
Last weekend we had our group tasting at the Racquet Club which was so much fun & so well-run by JAM. I really like that they offer group tastings because it allows you to try a huge variety of food (I was SO full afterwards) and to see what the venue looks like all set up for a reception. My fiance & I can't wait for our big day & for all of our guests to see how amazing the Racquet Club & JAM are!
The Racquet Club was the perfect location for our December wedding! There is a elegant and romantic feel to this venue, exactly what we wanted for our wedding. Our guest were stunn...
ed by the beauty of this venue. The Racquet Club wedding coordinator, Laura, was fabulous to work with. Laura works directly with the Racquet Club and Jeffrey Miller Catering (the exclusive caterer of the venue) and all communication was clear, honest, and helpful. Laura was flexible about meeting with us, quick to answer emails, and overall a very positive person to work with. We booked the downstairs ‘pub’ space for our after party. Many guest appreciated how nice it was that the party continued in a cozy location within the same building as the original reception. Overall we had a wonderful experience with the Racquet Club and ALL the beautiful amenities they have to offer.
We couldn't have been happier with RCOP!!! It was a beautiful and elegant urban setting for our wedding. We wanted something in the city since so many of our guests were traveling...
from out of town, and this was the perfect place. Marc was the BEST to work with and made the planning process so much easier! He took care of so many details. Toni did an amazing job with the food also. We received tons of compliments from our guests. Our only wish is that we could do it over again....and if we could, we would definitely choose the Racquet Club again!
I am an event planner by trade and this historical venue is amazing. The venue has an elegant, classic and timeless feel, which is embodied in its history, colors, textures and hig...
h ceilings. We chose the RCP because it was within walking distance of our ceremony (St. John the Evangelist) and more importantly, it was not a ballroom. We had cocktails in the library, dinner in the dining room and dancing in the foyer, which has a beautiful staircase as a backdrop. I wanted our guests to move around, to mix and mingle, avoiding the typical setting where guests sit at large round tables and stare at each other. Jeffrey Miller is the onsite caterer and liaison with the RCP. The chef did a fabulous job with our menu and as the onsite coordinator, Marc Liss provided our guests with wonderful service and attentiveness. The venue itself has a lot to offer; unfortunately the RCP management does not match the value of the venue. There was poor communication and calendar management during our initial planning phase and unfortunately in the two weeks leading up to the wedding date. Although we were compensated for their mismanagement, as a planner it makes for an unsettling client/vendor relationship. I am hopeful that our situation was a one off and I would recommend the RCP as a reception venue.
My guests are still raving at how BEAUTIFUL the RCOP was! It's a stunning, historic location right in the heart of Philly. It made the perfect backdrop for all of our photos. We...
had our ceremony and reception here and I couldn't have asked for anything better. The space is beautiful and each room has it's own unique vibe and feel. The reading (or red) room was everyone's favorite! And that staircase was perfect for our grand entrance! On top of all that, they provide accommodations for the bride and groom in the founders suite on the wedding night! The suite is also perfect - I used it to get ready with my bridal party the morning of the wedding; it was HUGE!
Also - they have a after party location also right on site! complete with a huge bar and pool tables! This was so convenient for our guests and was a perfect bonus for an already perfect place.
If you're looking for a unique, vintage, romantic, and historic location for your wedding I would ABSOLUTELY recommend the RCOP. They partner with Jeffery Miller Catering and the main contact is Marc Liss - also amazing to work with (see my other reviews).
The RCOP was a beautiful venue for a wedding, we were able to have everything all in one place and it all ran very smoothly. The service at the club was impeccable and it is obviou...
s the club is well taken care of. It was very nice to be able to spend the nights before and after the wedding there, it made things very convenient for us. This is definitely a unique venue to host your wedding and I recommend it to all.
This reception venue was perfect. It one of the old buildings in philadelphia with a perfect brick outside and large archways and grand stair case inside. The rooms are picturesqu...
e while being functional. We couldn't have asked for a better location!!!
My husband and I are international models and have been to many catered receptions and galas overseas and at our new home in NY. We chose the Audubon center for it's venue but were...
beautifully surprised with the niche they have carved for themselves in the rustic chic location and catering. I could see that they had a specialty in this so I gave the reigns over to Anthia and answered any questions for preference over the phone before our reception in September. I decided to make a few centerpieces for tables but they had so many extras (like candles) at a cheaper price than I could find anywhere. Anthia was a Dream to work with. Put your trust in her and she will deliver! The food was the best part of the night. JAM catering was not only Perfect for our theme but DELICIOUS! We couldn't even save our top cake tier for the anniversary, we finished every bite in two days. Vanilla chiffon cake with raspberry mousse filling yummmmm.. Choose them for what they're niche is, don't fight it and you will LOVE the turnout by far.
As our daughter and her husband celebrate their first wedding anniversary, memories of that special day at Audubon fill our thoughts with joy and smiles. With Anthia Graham and the...
Jeffery Miller Catering team, we were able to have an event that friends and relatives are still talking about! The food at the cocktail party was distinctive, tasty and presented in a creative way. The pavillion offered a sheltered setting for dinner and dancing with a feeling of the outdoors. Ideas from the couple, the parents(us) and the caterer were easily integrated and were coordinated without hassle by the experienced and talented wedding planner, Anthia.
Mill Grove was magnificent at sunset and later in the evening. All our special requests and varied needs of our guests were met, including vegan, Kosher meals and surprises for the children who attended. Certainly worth the expense for this once in a lifetime experience and for the end product about which we have no regrets.
I always dreamed of a beautiful, rustic and elegant outdoor wedding. The Audubon center is a wonderful venue- we enjoyed visiting it on our planning sessions, and our pictures are...
absolutely stunning. The Audubon center is also a not-for-profit organization and it was nice to know that our site fee went to a good cause- bird preservation. Our wedding would have been perfect it was not for the caterer (Jeffrey Miller Catering (JAM)) that has an exclusive contract for weddings at the Audubon. In fact, if I could do our wedding all over again, I would NOT have my wedding at the Audubon simply because JAM was such a monstrous disappointment. The party planner, Anthia, is well intentioned but highly inefficient. JAM is good at one type of wedding- the traditional three course dinner. We wanted to do something custom and special (a family-style meal with local foods) and we spent over nine months trying to develop a menu (it took so long due to the inefficiency of JAM and Anthia). In the end, it was a flop. Our wedding was wonderful, and our guests had fun, but my husband and I both agree that the food was the weakest component. This is a huge shame since we spend 20,000 dollars on catering alone. There are so many gorgeous outdoor venues in the region that are not monopolized by JAM, I encourage you to do your research! And find the perfect venue AND a wonderful caterer.
Was a bit pricey because they have an exclusive caterer, and we needed Kosher catering, so we have to pay a buy-out fee just so their caterer did not show up. They also charged us...
an hourly rate for one of their reps to be on site, and though we rented 8 hours, they have in the contract that they charge us for 12 hours. However, the site is fantastically gorgeous, rustic and just perfect for us. Communication before the wedding was touch and go, and there were a few misunderstandings. Honestly though, things would probably have gone a lot smoother if we were using their exclusive caterer, since the caterer handles all booking, not the center itself. Everything they said would happen, did, and everything they said wouldn't happen, didn't. We were so happy with the result, and would recommend this to anyone, and would only caution them if they needed Kosher catering and couldn't use theirs.
