About this vendor
Truthfully, no blurb on a website can adequately describe the experience of having Radio Tokyo as the entertainment at your special event. The band always asks interested parties “Have you seen us live in a club or festival? ‘Cause that’s what you’re going to get.” With their out of this world stage show featuring a $30k lightshow, professional large club PA and frontman Ambition, former lead singer of National recording artists, Pretty Ricky backed up by 4 highly skilled professional instrumentalists including a former drummer from Island Def-Jam recording artists Rusted Root, RT will create an off-the-chain club-like party experience that will have your guests raving for years to come. While many bands claim to be “not your average wedding band”. In the case of Radio Tokyo, it is fact.

We booked Radio Tokyo before we booked our wedding venue. They made our wedding reception the party of a lifetime, the dance floor was always packed. The compliments we still recei...
ve months after our wedding is such a testament to how incredibly talented these guys are. Thanks for giving us the party of a lifetime!
Radio Tokyo was the best band that we could have chosen for our wedding. The dance floor was full the entire night. Our guests raved about them. They were also so easy to work w...
ith when we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID. We would highly recommend Radio Tokyo to anyone who wants their reception to be a blast!
My wife and I got to see Radio Tokyo the summer before our wedding. We joked about how cool it would be to have them at our wedding. The joke became a reality when I inquired with ...
them. Jason was so helpful figuring everything out. He worked with our venue and dj to make sure everything went flawlessly and it did. They put on an amazing show. Countless people after my wedding told me they never left the dance floor. It was packed all night! I can’t wait to continue to see them play in the future and be able to say they played at my wedding!
Radio Tokyo brought down the house at our wedding reception. Guests continue to mention how amazing they were. A live band (vs. a DJ) brings such an extra "WOW" factor to a recepti...
on. If you're worried that live band would mean sacrificing the party vibes and modern music, Radio Tokyo has you covered! They played everything from Post Malone to Blink 182 to Backstreet Boys to Cardi B, and our dance floor was packed ALL NIGHT. They did a great job reading the room and playing banger after banger. Radio Tokyo was among our most important vendors to bring our wedding vision to life, and they did not fail to deliver!
Radio Tokyo rocked it. Our wedding night was made even better by our band. They played a great variety of music and our dance floor was packed all night. The people were even chant...
ing "ONE MORE SONG" by nights end! Jason was great to work with, as was the rest of the band. All ages were out on the floor together and we loved every minute of it!! I highly recommend then, they are worth every penny!
Even Ernest Hemingway, famous for his terse prose and refusal to describe a scene beyond the barest features, would be forced into a loquacious mood by Radio Tokyo.
To be fair, I...
was inebriated in a manner rivaling the fonder days of fraternity life in New Orleans, so perhaps my judgment of their music is biased. And yet, therein lies one of the many wonders of Radio Tokyo; their unmatched ability to create the tone of a party.
Is their lead singer amazing? Yes. For many songs we honestly thought he was playing them off an iPod, but no, he is simply that talented. Is the drummer remarkable? Yes, watch him. You’ll be mesmerized. Can the guitarist play? Yes, there’s a reason that a family friend, an old musician who toured Europe with The Rolling Stones, wanted to get on stage and play.
Perhaps this is the true magic of Radio Tokyo. The band, at heart, is not a wedding band. Ask anyone who went to WVU or Pitt around 2010, and they will tell you of raucous bars swaying to the music of Radio Tokyo. To have them play your wedding, to have them set the tone for your special day, is a truly remarkable gift.
If you book a band other than Radio Tokyo there will forever be a nagging feeling in your heart, a black pit in your stomach. You will never know exactly what this feeling is, but it will follow you into the darkness. And when Hades looks at your mournful face he will laugh, knowing that even into the grave you have been followed by the regret of not booking Radio Tokyo.
Radio Tokyo will take your wedding from good to awesome! I cannot say enough good things about this band. They were amazing to work with, flexible, and professional. Our wedding wa...
s 2 weeks ago, and people are still raving about Radio Tokyo. My husband's 90 year old grandmother was dancing all night until the very last song-- and somehow she lost one shoe while dancing, which we found 2 days later. The music selection was exactly what we would have picked out for ourselves! If you're looking for a wedding band that will be talked about for years after your wedding this is the band for you!
Jason Miller is the band leader and drummer, he coordinated with us on song selections and logistics. I couldn’t be more happy that Jason was our point of contact! He was thorough,...
responsive, timely, and not only pulled through on everything we discussed, but he was the best MC we could’ve asked for.
The set up of the stage and the lighting and the speakers! Very well done!
The band as a whole was so impressive that guests came up to me during the wedding and said they felt like they were at a concert. Guests asked where we found this wonderful band, and how could they book them for their next event. They played everything flawlessly. From Sweet Disaster to Nelly to Backstreet Boys to Ludacris, and they also had great break music too!
Overall, they were professional, they were fun, and I’d recommend them to any bride looking to make sure that the music is something to remember!
I don't even know where to start with this review....Radio Tokyo hit a home run. Actually, a grand slam. These guys ROCKED THE HOUSE. Thanks to the band's manager (and drummer),...
Jason, every single experience I had with the band was positive. From booking, to pricing, to creating our wedding playlist, to logistics, to coordinating the band's outfit....all the way to their performance, Radio Tokyo was on point. I could go on and on, but I'll end with this - in the two+ years (2015) since my wedding, the thing I hear most about that night is "That band was awesome! Where in the world did you find them?"
Radio Tokyo brought my wedding from great to legendary! It's the first thing our guests brought up when I spoke with them after the wedding.

were playing at Blue Chip's "It's Vegas Baby!", so we got in contact with Jason and explained our interest in hiring them for the wedding reception. The band did an amazing job accommodating us when we saw them for the first time. They even spent their breaks between sets talking and getting to know us - made us feel pretty cool :). After the first two songs, my wife and I were sold.
Day of / Performance: I was a little nervous knowing the band's from PA and our wedding was at Blue Chip; however, they showed up very early to the event. They were completely setup, sound checked, and ready to rock well before our ceremony started. One of my favorite moments was seeing the look on peoples' faces when they started up. I've never seen so many people, children to seniors, hit the dance floor so fast. I decided to let them play whatever they wanted - this was a great decision. Chris and Jason do a great job with reading the crowd to determine what songs to play and how to play them. They even changed some lyrics in a song to engage with the audience. The last song they played was, "All I Do Is Win". They pulled my wife and I on the elevated stage (Stardust Event Center at Blue Chip Casino) in front of all of our guests. The feeling I had with my wife in that moment was absolutely incredible. I never thought this band would have that impact on us and our guest. I highly endorse Radio Tokyo.
I initially saw Radio Tokyo playing at a Pittsburgh Pirates pre-game party. I was with a few of my friends at a bar right by the field and heard them from a distance. As soon as I ...
heard them play 'Wobble', I was hooked. After three or four songs, I immediately told my then fiancée they were going to be our wedding band.
I am a musician myself and in my humble opinion, Radio Tokyo is better than most wedding bands. They're all technically very sound musicians who play cover songs that showcase their talent while also keep the integrity of the tracks.
They will keep your dance floor moving all night long. The lead singer, Chris (former singer from the 90's group Pretty Ricky) makes their repertoire so versatile. He is an excellent singer and almost even better rapper. Some songs they can play really well are: 'Uptown Funk', 'All I do is win', 'Closer, 'Pony:, ' Talk Dirty', 'Can I get A..', 'My House', 'Hot in Herre', Humble', 'OMG' and the list is always growing. They try to keep up with the latest songs while mixing a lot of 90's. Most of the band also sings so they can harmonize songs that have more than one singer.
Furthermore and more importantly, they are easy and fun to work with (you can tell they like working with each other with the amount of jokes they make amongst each other). I wanted to surprise my wife with a song and sing/play piano with them (Ed Sheeren's Perfect). They invited me to their practice space in Pittsburgh for a couple hours and it was a blast. They're so good to adapt to a song they usually do not play and make it sound even more epic.
So to recap, for me and my wife, it was the best choice to make them my wedding band. Their musical skills and versatility, blend of modern and older song selection, and great personalities to work with made this choice easy for us. If you're looking for a band, you would be short-changing yourself if you did not at least see a show from these guys before your wedding.
Look no farther for a wedding band. In fact, you should plan your wedding date around Radio Tokyo's availability. Well, only if you want every family member and friend you see fo...
r several months after your wedding to tell you that your wedding reception, notably the band, was incredible and the best party they have ever been to. They had everyone (friends to grandparents) dancing the entire night!! Jason was great to work with and accommodated several song requests and unique timeline ideas that we had (mini-set before dinner). He even prepared a slideshow to be played during the reception on TVs next to the stage.
