Fast forward to 2018 – I was planning a trip to O’ahu for our anniversary and we decided to “redo” our wedding portraits! I’ll take my dress to Hawaii and we’ll have a photoshoot there! I started researching all over google and couldn’t find much. I went to Instagram and lone behold, I found Rae Marshall Photography. I was following her work for a year before I decided to book with her. She was very responsive even though she was on HNL time and she was so sweet! We had to reschedule our trip due to a personal emergency and she was so thoughtful and flexible. Fast forward to the day of our shoot in early Nov – she arrived right on time and had such a happy and bubbly energy! We felt so comfortable with her! She definitely made us laugh and made us pose in just the right directions. The photoshoot flew by! Today, I received an email with the full gallery and OMG…my husband and I are absolutely floored. Every single photo is my favorite (and that NEVER happens)! I can’t wait to share with friends and family, and print portraits to hang in our home. We will cherish these photos for many years to come. We can’t express our gratitude enough and hope to have Rae take our photos again and again when we visit the islands as our family grows. She is extremely talented, with an eye for detail and she really tells a story through her photos, which is why I chose her in the first place. Her photos are light and airy and truly capture the “Hawaii” feel that I was going for. Rae was extremely prompt, organized, professional, and fun! Her banter kept us laughing and smiling (even when we were worn out from taking photos!) She kept us all on schedule and really helped calm me down when minor scheduling errors occurred reassuring me that she was there for us and everything would work out…and IT DID! I know choosing a photographer for your wedding is really stressful, especially when it’s a destination wedding and you don’t have the opportunity to meet with your vendors beforehand. But Rae took all of that stress away. She sends out a very detailed questionnaire for the couple to fill out prior to your wedding day to make sure she knows exactly what you want captured and what expectations you both have. A lot of people skimp on a photographer for their wedding day and regret not spending the extra money to make sure their photos turn out excellent… …I assure you if you book with Rae you will NOT regret it! The quality that she provides is unprecedented and her second shooter did an amazing job as well! I could not have chosen a better, more qualified photographer to capture our special day. hired Rae to be the photographer at my wedding, and ended up using 3 photographers because I wanted all my guests to have their photographs taken, and my wedding party to have their pictures taken with their dates. All 3 photographers were very professional and made themselves very available to the guests. During the formal photo session, Rae was on top of everything. She had every minute accounted for, and didn't want to waste any time so she could maximize the photo taking session. I was not expecting her to be so efficient, especially since some of the photos were pretty ridiculous. For example, I wanted to have all the guests (110 people) in one photo on the beach. Rae and her team definitely delivered without too much pain. We ended up asking Rae to stay for 30 minutes longer than we initially agreed on, and Rae was very accommodating. This is the kind of customer service I can get behind. Price-wise, I felt Rae was very reasonable. I looked at all the different portfolios of different photographers on Oahu and some of their prices can be pretty out there. I love her simplistic style on her portfolio with mostly candid shots. I am not a fan of the very artsy photos with over processed colors that some of the high end photographers do, this is definitely the way to go if you are like me and you want to look like your best self in your photos and not like someone else! I cannot wait to see how my pictures turn out!!

edding coordinator, Vidachic Events. We had a list of maybe 5 photographers to choose from and Rae’s work stood out to us the most. When we began our search, I thought I wanted more of an editorial appeal to our photos, but when we saw Rae’s portfolio, she definitely had a beautiful balance between light and airy / editorial. It was super awesome to be able to do a pre wedding photo session with her since my husband and I never took engagement photos. I was a bit nervous at first because I don’t know how to pose in front of a camera on cue, but Rae was such a great director and made us feel so comfortable, playful, and beautiful. Having this session with her before the wedding made us feel so confident that the our wedding day would be amazing with her. Oh, and how great was she to wake up for our sunrise engagement session?! We got to the location before 6am! Thank you so much for waking up for that!!! Our wedding day was sooo busy and Rae made sure to capture details of our day that we would never have remembered on our own. We look back at our photos and have commented saying, “Wow, I didn’t even remember seeing that detail” or “Omg! I’m so happy she took that photo!!!” When you go onto her website, there’s a section that says “investment”. Yes that typically is the part where one holds their breath wondering how much a wedding photographer is going to cost. But really, think of “investment” as your personal emotional investment in the person who’s going to capture the most memorable day in your life. You can put that trust in her because she really is THAT amazing. After the wedding is over and you’re back home settling in wondering what to do with yourself after you’ve spent an entire year wedding planning, and all you can do is continue to think about your wedding because you’re still on cloud 9, you’ll thank Rae from afar and be truly blessed that you made the best decision to choose her. Our day wouldn’t have been the same without you, Rae. We are so greatful and thankful for you. We would choose you again and again. Mahalo ❤️

It was humid and hot that day, and despite the weather that was dragging all of us down during our couple photo session, she was as passionate in getting wonderful photos as one can. She definitely knew the venue and was highly talented in getting us posing for the photos. None of the poses she asked of us felt awkward or uncomfortable, as she is aware we are not professional models! 😆 She tried to capture as many wonderful and spontaneous moments as possible until the moment she left. She also sent me a preview sheet for our upcoming gallery, and the photos look absolutely gorgeous! The details shot of the rings is out of this world, and I look better in the pictures than in person! (Isn’t that what we all want secretly?) I cannot wait to see the full gallery! We were able to meet Rae ahead of time, and work with her before the big day! I sent a LOT of e-mails before the engagement shoot, and she answered every single one without delay. Our shoot was so easy, we loved the pictures and received them even earlier than she had said..therefore I felt SO comfortable going into our wedding day! We talked once a few days before the wedding to hash out the details and that was all! We just received our wedding photos and LOVE LOVE LOVE them as well! Rae was incredibly responsive throughout the planning process scheduling a few check in calls and following up on all the little details in preparation for our big day. We ended up chasing the blue skies to another location and took incredible pictures by the beach complete with a rainbow and beautiful sunset.
