I work with live wedding bands and DJ/emcee services, and recently had an interesting experience working here... This is a lovely venue, with much of the onsite team being an absol...ute blessing to work with. However, with over 200 weddings under my belt, I have never been so unfortunate to work with a coordinator as rude and insufferable as Laura. It was confusing, unsettling, and really set the tone for how I was able to present effectively to the guests and client.
Immediately after walking in and saying hello, she launched into an angry rant: "I have been doing this for 22 years and am old enough to have been your babysitter" (I am 30 years old) "You clearly don't know how to do your job", and even refused to talk through the schedule of the night. I overheard her flippantly telling the photographers "This is MY show, move along," and I get the impression that it is a struggle for Laura's team to tolerate her, much less focus on making your wedding effortless. I nearly walked out, and would not have felt bad for doing so.
While couples will appreciate a coordinator that seems to be able to command her team effectively, it is also a liability to have vendors on the verge of deserting your special night, and I imagine that Laura's aggression has the potential to really impact those close to you as well. If the venue is able to be booked without Laura, this venue would otherwise be lovely.
