Rare Bridal Bar

onal. if you're a mid or plus-size bride, do yourself a favor and go to rare!

ointment, I clearly communicated what I wanted, what I was hoping to do, and what I needed from the appointment. I spoke with them weeks before to ensure it would be the right fit. Given all that preparation, I truly feel like the managers should have relayed that information to my stylist so she understood my intentions and expectations. The stylist I was paired with started off fun, upbeat, and enjoyable to work with. But the energy shifted the moment she realized the dress I truly loved was the one I already owned — a dress they also carry in store. Instead of helping me explore more options or showing interest in guiding me through different styles, the appointment suddenly felt rushed and cold. It was as if I stopped being worth the time because I wasn’t going to make a large purchase that day. I’ve never been made to feel like such a waste of time during what should have been a joyful, supportive experience. What makes this even more disappointing is that she had every opportunity to still earn future business from me. I planned to return for accessories, veils, and other pieces — but she didn’t even try to build that connection or make me feel welcomed enough to consider coming back. A little effort could have made all the difference. And it wasn’t just me who noticed it. My support group saw the shift immediately and even mentioned it to me during the appointment. That confirmed it wasn’t something I imagined, and honestly, it was embarrassing to experience that in front of the people who came to support me. To add to the uncomfortable experience, not a single manager checked in — despite the fact that I had been communicating with management beforehand. No one ensured we felt taken care of, and no one stepped in when it was clear things had shifted. For a boutique that markets itself as personal, elevated, and memorable, it was anything but. I left feeling sad, deflated, and heartbroken that an appointment I was so excited for turned into something I’ll never look back on fondly. Brides should feel celebrated and valued — regardless of whether a purchase is made that day. I truly hope Rare Bridal Bar takes reviews like this seriously, because no bride should walk out feeling the way I did. They did nothing to even try and fix the issue. Instead they blocked me on social media and didn’t even reach out to apologize.

oach in going through vision and having only 2 dresses at a time really helped find what I liked while also not being overwhelming. Extra help from Teresa was also a treat. This team and salon made me feel like a million bucks! THANK YOU RARE!

listened, made sure the appointment was productive, and made me feel incredibly comfortable while trying dresses on. She truly made the dress trying-on process fun. I also loved that I actually got to look at dresses and select what I wanted to try on! We had a great experience and will be recommending this store to anyone and everyone looking for wedding dresses!

n every style, with multiple options and colors, I asked for. Tajma and Cate made me, and my guests, feel so comfortable. They knew all the right dresses to pull, even some wildcards, one of which ended up being my choice. Abby, the owner, was there to answer all of my questions. Getting a dress was the thing I was stressing about the most for my wedding. Tajma, Cate, and Abby made it so fun and easy. Rare is a beautiful gem of a store that we are so lucky to have in Milwaukee.

reat eye - she pulled a dress that I never thought I would like - and I ended up LOVING it. I’m definitely going to recommend this place to any future bride! Thank you Tajma and Theresa for making this #rarebride feel good!

d picking dresses to try on. He absolutely nailed it and I said YES! to the very first dress I tried on…we did try on a few more but came back to that one. Such an easy and fun experience. He was so kind and welcoming and made the process so easy. He was very accommodating to any needs I had and made sure the whole process was super comfortable for me. There were some nerves from me about trying on dresses especially being plus sized. The nerves were promptly eliminated as soon as I stepped in the first dress. I felt so beautiful and honestly magical. It was such a special time with my family and friends. I will be recommending Rare (or Strike) to all of my future brides!!

w much attention I’d get and if there would be dresses that fit me. I had a fantastic 60 min appointment and got the opportunity to try on tons of dresses. My stylist, Tajma, was amazing! She helped me find my dress. It wasn’t at all what I thought I’d want, but she did great work listening to the things I was actually liking about what I was trying on. I cannot recommend Rare enough. Having gone to chain-type bridal shops, this experience was FAR above my previous experiences. Go to Rare Bridal Bar!

detailed and bride centered. I had zero surprises when I got to the bridal bar. Tajma Hall was my stylist, but more like an expert. She knew exactly what I envisioned just from a brief conversation. Everyone was friendly and welcoming from the moment I stepped in the door. Even the smell in the air was refreshing and inviting. First and last stop for my dress because I said YES TO THE DRESS! The icing on the cake was the price. My dress was half off and so was the veil. Thank you Rare Bridal Bar for such a wonderful experience. ❤️

She made me feel amazing and so comfortable. She helped me with dresses I would have never picked myself and the best part is because of that I chose a dress I would have passed up. It felt so amazing saying yes to the dress at my first stop. I highly recommend rare bridal to any bride looking for an amazing experience and stunning dress selection.

ffered by Rare. It’s well worth a drive if you’re outside Milwaukee. I had to go alone but Abby, my stylist, was there the whole way. She did an amazing job helping pick out dresses, making phone calls to verify details, patiently waiting while I FaceTimed my mom every 5 minutes. She helped me think through the pros and cons of each dress and didn’t put on any pressure to make a decision or feel things I wasn’t feeling :) They have lots of appointment options whether you’re making a day of it with your entourage or just trying to find the dang dress already. And even though I was in the later camp, it still felt very special and I found THE dress! From experience, a warehouse of selections doesn’t mean a quality selection. Boutiques are the way to go and this was by far the best of the best!

s that were in smaller sizes. She has a nice selection to choose from. I feel for the first dress I tried on but kept trying several others and chose the first. The fitting room was spacious and felt very comfortable. I would highly recommend a visit if you are a plus size.

nge of sizes. Enter Rare Bridal Bar. From start to finish, Rare was exceptional. They answered all of my questions before arriving and made me excited before I even stepped foot into the space. Walking in felt like the dress store of my dreams that I never thought I would see in person. The space is stunning, the staff are so lovely, and the whole experience is what every bride should get. My stylist, Tajma, was incredibly sweet and picked the perfect dresses. It feels vulnerable to have someone you just met get you in and out of wedding gowns but she made me feel at ease the whole time. I picked my dress yesterday and I can’t wait to go back to Rare and pick her up. If you are a plus size bride, Rare Bridal Bar is the dress shopping experience everyone deserves for their wedding.

glad I did! Emily made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process! She listened to all my likes and dislikes regarding what I wanted in my dress and helped me find the perfect one! Rare has an amazing selection of dresses that I could actually get zipped up in which made me feel confident and relaxed! Rare was the first store I went to to try on wedding dresses and I cannot say enough good things about my experience!

ion of dresses is outstanding. Anything I wanted to try on, I could! Any style - they had my size and it felt great to know that I could literally try on every single dress they had. At other stores, that isn’t the case. I felt like a bride at Rare. The whole experience was a 10/10! Saying yes to the dress, popping confetti, and enjoying a signature drink made for the perfect ending to a great experience! My dress was everything I wanted it to be and more!

e it was correct. Walking in and seeing the shop was something else. It's different from chain shops - beautiful, cozy, and welcoming. As a plus sized bride, I wished I'd visited this store first! They have a wide range of sizes and styles, which I was excited for as I wanted a black dress. There wasn't another shop in the Milwaukee area that had black plus size dresses in store to actually try on. Emily kept my budget in mind, which I was very thankful for! This way, I didn't feel pressured to buy anything that was out of my price range and she could show me dresses that aligned with that. I felt so comfortable working with Emily, her style was exactly what I'd wear and she was so friendly. All in all, I said yes to my dress today and will recommend this store to any bride I meet. Thank you Emily & Rare Bridal for helping make my wedding dream come true!

pulling dresses that were in my budget. We weren’t rushed at all Heidi took her time and was very thoughtful, kind, honest, and had a great sense of humor. My dad and daughter felt relaxed and heard during the appointment. Heidi took the time to interact with them as well and explained everything very well. Highly recommend rare bridal bar! The whole team is phenomenal!

my stylist, Tajma. From the start I was so impressed with Tajma's professionalism, knowledge, and kind demeanor. She made me feel comfortable and confident. She was well versed on my preferences based on the pre-appointment information I provided and the Pinterest board I shared. She was also conscious of my budget. She never pushed her own opinions but expertly listened to my feedback and adjusted her selections accordingly. The champagne toast and confetti pop after I had chosen my dress was so thoughtful. Owner, Abby, and Tajma were right there taking photos and cheering us on. Rare makes you feel welcome, heard, and seen. There is no rush and no "conveyor belt" mentality. You feel unique and special. I cannot recommend them enough.

s about this process. My consultant, Jimmy, was incredible! He was sweet, honest, and made me feel like a queen! My date isn’t for another two years so I will be booking again in another 6 months to actually buy a dress- but felt so welcomed as a nervous bride to ask questions and get a better understanding of how I envision myself on my wedding day! A truly incredible experience for any plus size brides who might be nervous about not feeling comfortable in their own skin on their wedding day, or who wants to have options of different colors and so many designs.

was such a saving grace! It says it right in the name - it is RARE - the selection, experience, and level of care were all top notch. Emily was so knowledgeable and patient with me, such an angel! I cannot recommend it enough: ALL PLUS SIZED BRIDES NEED TO START THEIR SEARCH AT RARE!!

onest and sweet. I felt so beautiful the entire appointment. The appointment didn't feel rushed, and Jimmy even let us run over our scheduled time. I cannot say enough good things about Rare Bridal Bar. I will definitely be recommending Rare (and Strike) to family and friends. It was the best experience!

got the say YES at Rare!
