Ray and his team- Michelle, Doug, and Frank the videographer, were all awesome! I'm surprised he doesn't have more great reviews here! The team really took care of my husband and I in ways I would never have expected! They kept us on track, found great photo ops, and kept me looking good throughout the night! Our photos and video were great! AND the prices were reasonable! What more can you ask for?!
We used Ray and his team because they were family friends of my in-laws. He was great through the process. We were not very demanding because we knew he knew our family so we only met with him once before booking him. Looking back, I should have been more specific with what I expected. I'll explain that later. Overall our package cost between $4-5,000 and included a many different prints, a wedding album, two parent albums, all of our proofs, and I think 50 thank you cards. We ended up with 3,ooo proofs, and got them three weeks after our wedding.
There was a husband and wife team that called me the night before to confirm the time and location, and showed up true to time. They didn't come early enough to take pictures of us getting ready, only of me getting dressed with my girls and putting on shoes, jewelry, etc. I didn't have any pictures of me with my mom, or of her and the girls getting ready. That I wish I had.
They took a bunch of us getting into and out of the limos, a few at the church, and majority of pictures were just of my husband and I in between the church and the reception, when we went to a local park and took pictures. I was very happy with those pictures, we were on the dock,on the bluff, on the beach and under trees. Those pictures were beautiful and definitely ones for the album. We had good direction from the photographers throughout this time, and they arranged us well to capture our best features.
We took some posed pictures with pretty backgrounds at our hotel and at the reception grounds, but looking back I should have asked for them to have us also do some silly photos and be more dynamic. I've seen some of my friend's photos with them jumping in the air, or the guys holding up the bride, or the girls blowing kisses to the groom, and they are fun, funky and capture the silly side of a couple.
I also regret not having pictures with all of my close family and friends. I have only a few with my mom, and my husband has only a few with his. I don't have any with some of my aunts or cousins, and that was really a sore spot for them. I was too overwhelmed in the moment to realize I needed those pictures, so a list given to the photographers ahead of time would hopefully be an easy fix.
Our thankyou cards were very basic and in my opinion a little dated. Some photographers provide an option with a nice digital collage, or turning a photo into a card with room to write individual notes on the back of them. We got basic cards with a photo insert, and had to pay an extra $3 per card for every one that we needed above the package, which cost us about an extra $75. We did get many compliments on the photo itself, and people told us they saved it as a keepsake for our wedding, which was nice.
I should also note that we had a videographer throughout the church and reception, but we haven't seen the final product yet. I know they start off with some still photos of us growing up and us dating, they filmed the church ceremony and reception party, and also did individual comments from our close friends and family.
Overall they did exactly what we expected and were on time with all of the events. You will be pleased if you choose this company, but my two recommendations are to make sure you give a list of who you need photos with, and to make arrangements for each of the time frames you want covered, such as the getting hair and makeup, getting dressed, limo ride, etc.
