Marcus from RaytheDJ was our DJ for our wedding, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He was incredibly friendly, with the best energy, and was genuinely excited to be part of our day. He was a fantastic MC and made everything flow seamlessly—from the ceremony to the reception and even collaborating with the live entertainment we added. The dance floor was packed all night, and we got so many compliments on how much fun people had at our wedding. Highly recommend!

Knowing that the music can really make or break the big day, it’s important to have an excellent DJ. We used Fred for our wedding an he did an outstanding job. The website he provided was very easy to use and he was there to answer and questions. We just picked the main songs we wanted played and he was able to put together the perfect mix based on our list and the vibe of the room at any current moment. Would highly recommend Fred! My mom’s name is Becky though, not ‘Becca.” ;)

We had DJ Fred for our wedding. He did a wonderful job! He played all of our favorite songs as well as mixing in some ones we never thought to add. He was also very attentive to details and was willing to help in any way he could.

Marcus was our DJ for our wedding. HE IS FANTASTIC! Not only was he very detailed and professional while helping us choose songs, he didn't miss one detail the day of and helped the wedding run so smoothly! Also, our dance floor was never empty all night!!! People of all ages were dancing because Marcus masterfully mixed songs that all generations like. From today's hits, to 80's songs. Our biggest worry was that no one would dance, and boy was that worry relieved fast because it was a party all night!

It's such a shame to write this review; as you can tell from the positive reviews, it seems like we had a singular experience. But it was a terrible experience, and unfortunately, you only get married once, and there are no redos. Ray the DJ was a part of our contracted services with Desert View Wedding in Apache Junction. DJ Fred was assigned to us. I used their online portal and uploaded all of our specialty songs, special requests, and dancefloor music guidelines. I wasn't too concerned with the DJ, as I assumed they had all the tools they needed to deliver since it was all written in stone. Nonetheless, the week of our wedding came, and I thought it was strange DJ Fred still had yet to contact us, so I sent a highly detailed email breaking down the flow of our day, the specialty songs, and when/how to play them. I abbreviated the songs in this email because he had the exact artist/song name in his portal. BIG MISTAKE. When we chatted on the phone with DJ Fred the day after I sent the email, he was a disorganized and chaotic mess. He clearly did not take the time to prepare for our call and look over our email or the portal. I let our wedding planners know that he seemed disorganized and told them to send him our timeline ASAP so he had even more tools at his disposal to piece the day together (it was simple... we didn't do anything beyond normal). He even called my husband the day before our wedding to ask him what our last dance song was since my husband surprised me with the song choice, which, again, was in the portal—the day of, DJ Fred played the wrong song for our bridal party walking down the aisle. I uploaded Everywhere (acoustic) by Fleetwood Mac into the portal, and he played Everywhere by Michelle Branch. This is a HIGHLY personal moment, and the fact that he screwed it up would've been enough to leave this review, but it gets worse. He kept skipping our speeches and told our guests it was time to eat THREE times! He clearly didn't read/utilize the timeline (our DOC was sick, so we got stuck with the owner of Kristi Marie Events, who was absolutely the worst ever; you can see their review for their nightmare of a performance. But, my only thought is that our original DOC didn't add the parent speeches to our final timeline even though we emailed about it the month of). Moving on.... our Last Dance. Maybe I am the idiot here, but a last dance is when the couple is solo on the dance floor having a private moment. DJ Fred threw it on when my husband and I weren't even together and ruined what was supposed to be a very special moment for us. We ended up having him play an alternative song so we could still share that closing night moment, and DJ Fred threw it on and walked away in a fit. Truly, it was the worst experience from start to finish; I should've called out the red flags after the first phone call, but given their highly-rated reviews and how utterly clear I was with my directions, I trusted DJ Fred to do his very simple job of just playing the right songs at the right time. My advice? If you work with this company, overcommunicate and do not trust that your DJ "gets it." I know it's easy to think, well, they do this for a living, and how hard can it really be? But I was shocked at how poorly he did his job. Proceed with caution.

Fred the DJ made our wedding night truly unforgettable! From the moment we first reached out to him, he was attentive, professional, and genuinely enthusiastic about making our big day special. His music selection was flawless, seamlessly blending our musical tastes and keeping the dance floor packed all night long, especially for a Sunday night wedding!!! Not only did he play all of our requested songs, but he also read the crowd perfectly, ensuring that everyone from our youngest guests to our grandparents had a blast. Fred truly went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. We can't thank Fred enough for his incredible talent and dedication, and we highly recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ who will take their event to the next level!

Marcus was our DJ at our Villa Siena wedding and we honestly could not have asked for a better DJ. He was so kind and enthusiastic about our wedding, and you can tell he really loves what he does which I think is so important. I had some specific ceremony requests that he handled wonderfully, and for the reception I gave him the vibes and free reign and he matched the energy perfectly. It was a full dance floor all night and we got so many compliments on what an amazing DJ we had. Could not recommend enough!

We loved this vendor! They were assigned to us from Desert Views and they did not disappoint! Our DJ was Gilbert and he did an amazing job! We gave him a lot of freedom to choose what he thought was best, and his selections were bangers! Highly recommend

Marcus the Dj was incredible!! He absolutely killed it at our wedding! We had family members that don’t dance, out on the dance floor. At one point we weren’t sure if there would be speeches or not and Marcus just rolled with it. Very professional but he kept it fun! Would 10/10 recommend every time

Marcus with Ray the DJ was great! I picked songs individually for each bridal party’s entrance, and he took care of the rest on picking the right time of the songs for when they come out. Whenever I had any questions along the way of planning he always responded quickly. You know you have a good DJ when the dance floor is kept full the entire night.

We were SO happy with Tony at Ray the DJ for our wedding reception! The music was perfect and we had a great time dancing and singing the night away. Would recommend to anyone!

First and foremost, organization and communication were seamless. DJ Dan took the time to understand our musical preferences, asked about any specific songs we wanted, and even offered great suggestions for various parts of the ceremony and reception. On the big day, DJ Dan's timing and transitions were impeccable. From the heartfelt melodies during the ceremony to the high-energy beats that had everyone tearing up the dance floor at the reception, every moment was perfectly complemented by the music. What truly set DJ Dan apart was his ability to read the crowd. He effortlessly gauged the energy of the room and adjusted the playlist, accordingly, ensuring that everyone from our families to our friends had a fantastic time. His equipment and setup were top-notch, providing crystal-clear sound and a lighting setup that added an extra layer of magic to the event. Plus, they were professional and unobtrusive, letting the music take center stage without unnecessary interruptions. In summary, DJ Dan exceeded our expectations in every way. If you want a DJ who not only plays great music but also understands the intricacies of creating an unforgettable atmosphere, look no further. Unfortunately, we did not have the best experience with our DJ from Ray the DJ services. I had met with our DJ a few weeks prior to my wedding and specifically told him how to pronounce my grandfathers last name for the prayer, and even spelled it out phonetically for him, and he still mispronounced it on the day of the wedding. Also, I had emailed my DJ prior to the wedding day saying that prior to open dancing, I wanted him to announce all of the guests to the dance floor for a group photo prior to open dancing, I also reminded him of this during dinner and he still somehow forgot and started playing music without the announcement. My husband had to go remind him mid song and he abruptly cut the song which had all our guests very confused. Further, he forgot to announce last call for the bar. Additionally, he told us we paid for the 4 hour DJ package, so we scheduled other musicians for cocktail hour, but a week before the wedding emailed me saying we paid for the 5 hour package and offered to play later when he knew our reception had to be done by a certain time, so later was not an option. We were not offered any sort of refund for the additional hour that we had paid for already, even though it was his miscommunication. Overall, there were just a lot of issues with our DJ, and if I wouldn’t have given him a very specific list of must play/do not play, I do not think the music would have been good. Going back I would have picked a different DJ service.

DJ Dan was a terrific choice for my big Saturday night birthday dance party. He read the room, listened to requests, and kept the party going. I also very much appreciated his professionalism throughout the whole process. He was prompt in his communications, came to the venue a week ahead of time so as to avoid last minute surprises, and showed up ready to go. My guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I am so glad I booked with Ray the DJ! We had DJ Bryce for our wedding and he was incredible! Our guests were dancing all night and giving us so many compliments. Bryce has such a great personality and was so easy to talk to! Our night had such a great flow to it. I would absolutely recommend booking with this company!

Teffanie was phenomenal! She made our wedding super amazing and entertaining! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a DJ. She played the best music for dancing and I am not lying when I say the vast majority of our guests were still partying hard until the very end of our reception, which was at midnight. That's what everyone wants for their wedding reception. Great investment!

We had the best time at our wedding thanks in part to DJ Tony with Ray the DJ. He was so easy to work with and very responsive to any communication leading up to our big day. He really listened to our likes and dislikes and worked with me to create a playlist for every aspect of our event (prelude, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, reception, banging dance party). He was a very congenial MC and really got our crowd going. It was a perfect night!

We planned a destination wedding in AZ so had no experience with the local DJ’s. We are so happy we found Ray the D.J. and were absolutely thrilled with their service. They were so easy to work with and you can select a DJ based on their profile on the company’s website. Ray the D.J is a very professional organization. When we first inquired their response was quick and thorough. They thought of many things we didn't. We worked with James who was fantastic. He made sure to interact with our guests, take cues from us and keep the dance floor hopping. It was the most fun I have had in years. He was also very caring and kept the music quieter during dinner so all of our guests could converse- very important since family functions have been kept to a minimum for almost 3 years d/t COVID. I went to a wedding where Ray was the DJ and has SO much fun! When we got engaged he was one of the first vendors we booked! I could not be any more happier! We found Ray the DJ through our venue, which had this company listed as one of their preferred vendors. We had the pleasure of working with Marcus, who exceeded all of our expectations. He communicated efficiently, was timely, and was so nice to work with. He took every single one of our requests and made sure they happened. We received so many compliments from our guests about how they're "not really dancefloor people, but this was the most fun wedding they had ever been to"! DJ Marcus had the crowd on the dancefloor all night and the entire event went off seamlessly. I cannot thank Marcus enough!!

We worked with James from Ray the DJ for our wedding on 4/18/21. James was so easy to work with and did an incredible job. The first time we got on the phone, before we had even hired him, we knew instantly he was the perfect fit. James helped us think about how we wanted the night to look, how we wanted things to flow, and helped us make it all happen. We really wanted our guests to feel comfortable and have fun. He walked us through scenarios that would help us achieve that goal. The music he played was great and he worked with the playlists we sent to him. We already have recommended him to all our friends and would absolutely recommend him to anyone else looking.

ray the dj was a great company to work with for our wedding! i quickly received a quote right after inquiring and their cost is very reasonable. we worked with jeremy, who did a wonderful job! we communicated a lot before the wedding to really nail it down. while other crazy things happened on the wedding day, the music was the most smooth sailing thing. jeremy made sure our day went well and made sure we would be happy throughout the night.

Let me start this off with the fact that I have never personally written a review for anything or anyone in my life. Honestly I've never felt the urge to do so like I have for this company. Ray the DJ, specifically James, went beyond what I could have hoped for. Music for my now husband and I was the hardest thing to nail down. James walked us though everything step by step and how to set up the flow of the day with music. He also helped with suggestions on games, dances, and overall fun and flow for our wedding. The music for our entire wedding day was amazing. We got so many compliments from our guests and there was never a dull moment. He checked on us all throughout the night, asking if we needed drinks or anything to make our night better. Couldn't believe his attention to detail and attention to us having the best night. We found out later that his van had been hit by a bad driver on our street before the wedding and had to be towed. We had no idea. He didn't let on to anything happening. He was happy, professional, helping, and just all around an amazing guy. I couldn't recommend James or Ray The DJ enough. 10 out of 5 stars. Amazing.

Hiring Ray the DJ for our wedding was the best decision we have ever made. Marcus was our DJ and he wasn’t just the best DJ we could’ve ever had, he has now become a friend to my husband and I. We got engaged in April 2019, with a set plan of having our wedding at Villa Siena on October 3, 2020. When we signed our contract at the venue they told us, trust us, you want Marcus to DJ your event and we will do everything we can to make that happen. We get the email shortly after that Marcus is our DJ and we have our first meeting with him. I knew right from the beginning that it was going to be a fun event. He brought energy to the table and had some amazing ideas about song selection. He also has a business called Phoenix Uplighting and he can provide you with personalized monograms, beautiful up lights and sparklers to take your event to the next level. We were so excited to have our wedding on October 3, 2020, but then Covid had other plans. We were devastated and didn’t know if we should postpone or not. We made the difficult decision to hold off hosting our wedding celebration until April 16, 2021. There was one problem though, I wasn’t sure if Marcus was going to be available for the new date. So I called him, pretty sure I was crying and he told me don’t worry, I’m available, we will make all the changes we need to make and he helped put our minds at ease. My husband and I ended up getting married on our original date and planned on doing everything again, ceremony through reception on April 16th with all of our family and friends. Marcus communicated with us every step of the way. Marcus made our event what is was. He was professional, up beat, and had the best song selection. Our guests keep asking about him. He did a beautiful monogram for us that included our original date with gorgeous up lights and surprised us with sparklers during our grand entrance into the ballroom. We danced the night away and having Marcus there made the night truly unforgettable. He also speaks four different languages including Italian which I am. He introduced us in Italian as well as English and my Nonna was so excited about it. It was the personal touches that made it so very special. We are blessed to know Marcus. If you guys are looking for a DJ service in the Phoenix area, look no further, Ray the DJ is where it’s at. And trust us, you want Marcus!!!

Hiring Ray the DJ was one of our very best decisions when planning our wedding! Jeremy was the very best DJ we could have asked for--he was communicative, helpful, efficient, and he had the absolute BEST music choices throughout our Sunday brunch wedding! Marcus was the DJ for our wedding in February. He was great, he was very communicative from the beginning to the end. He was open to incorporating and blending our different tastes like, the variety in our guests ages, and made sure that all of our custom songs were correct. He took our music selections and used it as a jumping off point for the whole night while keeping everything fun and moving. He kept a good pulse on the tone of the event and matched it appropriately. Overall the company as a whole was very easy to work with, communicative, and has an easy to use planning tool to shape the entertainment for your special day.

He not only was a pro at formatting and itinerary, James was familiar with all of our music and made it a point to customize the playlist to Merril and I, from start to finish. I felt compelled to comment on Ray the DJ, as Marcus from this company was the MC and DJ at our wedding in June of 2020. Marcus worked diligently with us well before our wedding day to ensure our reception came off beautifully. He took as much time as we needed to explain what we hoped for and exactly what music we wanted. All details were discussed ahead of our big day, so when our wedding day arrived, my bride and I knew Marcus had everything covered. And boy, did he ever. Marcus was terrific-professional, humorous and thorough. Marcus had the ability to fill in all the gaps perfectly, and got our party going when it needed a little push. Ray the DJ's office was responsive and communicated well with us about all details. I highly recommend this company for any event.

Ray was a joy to work with. He was enthusiastic as we were planning everything and I could tell his goal was to help give us what we wanted for our wedding day. We had specific traditions and festivities that we needed to go a specific way, and not only did Ray plan them to perfection, he executed them exactly as they should have been the day of. When it comes down to having a wedding, the party is what people will remember and when you have someone like Ray essentially hosting and emceeing the party, it will be perfect, and SO fun! I will recommend Ray to every couple I know getting married, and even to people just hosting parties who need a DJ. Ray is one of a kind.

We had Gustavo for our wedding in November. We live in Tucson so we initially chatted on the phone and met up in person the weekend before. He was awesome...so great to work with, very helpful with the timeline (gave us tips, advice, listened to what we wanted, etc), a great emcee, and the dance floor was busy all night!! Our guests all commented how fun the reception was. He even managed to play all of our 'non-traditional' wedding songs we wanted and they fit in perfectly. Brenda was very responsive and helpful. Marcus was our DJ at our wedding at El Chorro on 1/4/2020. He was amazing! He did a great job getting everyone to dance, playing all of our must play songs, incorporating guest requests, and filling in all the gaps with songs that complemented what we chose. We had Jeremy DJ for us at our wedding at the Farm at South Mountain on 10/25. He was absolutely outstanding, professional, and far exceeded my expectations! He had no problem playing my specified prelude and cocktail playlists, miked everything for the ceremony, and was a masterful MC during the reception. All of the planned events went according to schedule, he checked in with us periodically throughout the event to make sure we were happy, and he was even able to accommodate all of the special reception events (like a choreographed dance by my in-laws, and a performance by my folk-dancing team). I am so grateful I hired Jeremy, and I highly recommend his services to any couple looking for a DJ or MC for their wedding!
