Ray's Photography

Ray is, quite simply, the best in the business. If you look at his website, Facebook, or Instagram pages, you will fall in love with his work. He is as adept at taking traditional wedding photos (the stock family shots or dance floor photos we are all familiar with) as he is at taking artistic editorial-style photos. Indeed, some of his photos are so stunningly gorgeous that you will think you're looking at a painting. His photographs tell a story; they capture a moment. And some of them will even take your breath away. What more could you want on your wedding day? We are so in love with some of our wedding photos that we plan to use them as artwork in our new home, and we are totally not those kind of people. We did our first look on one of two gorgeous spiral staircases at our wedding venue, the Hotel Monaco in Washington, DC, which is both a luxury hotel and national historic landmark. The photographs that Ray took of us from atop the staircase looking down are at once beautiful, memorable wedding shots and incredible architectural photography (a style of photography we love to display in our home). Ray's talent is matched by the warmth of his personality, which is evident from the first time you speak with him. He's devoted to giving you the end product you're looking for. He's proud of his work, and he has a tremendous amount of respect for his clients. He will go the extra mile for you, even if it means laying on the cold ground in a puddle of dirty rainwater to get a beautiful shot of you and your significant other (that's not an exaggeration; he did this during our engagement shoot in DC). And, while, we did not ask Ray to jump into the Potomac River to capture a particular photo, you will see from his social media accounts that he has actually jumped into bodies of water before to take gorgeous photos for his couples. I know few other photographers who would go to such lengths for their clients. But for Ray, his couples are much more than just his clients, they are also his artistic muses. He wants your photographs to be as beautiful as you want them to be. Ray is, not surprisingly, a hot ticket, so if you love his work, and want to hire him for your engagement shoot or wedding, reach out to him ASAP. You won't regret it. I cannot have imagined anyone else capturing our wedding day. We are over the moon happy with our end result. You will be, too.

When I hired Ray I was really excited because the work he displays on his website looks amazing. I went all out and chose the Luxuria package ($8500). I was very disappointed when I received my photos, highlight video and wedding video. I had to request many edits and the work was still subpar. Ray also did not give us guidance on how to pose for our wedding photos and many of our photos similar. There were lighting poles are visible throughout many pictures, highlight video, and full videos. We also noticed that there are no pictures of the wedding food, as well as no pictures OR video of the wedding dessert table that we spent a lot of time and money planning. Ray also did not bring the drone he promised for outdoor and indoor footage. The photos of my husband’s accessories for the wedding were ridiculous. The tie was crooked in the picture and Ray did not fix that. He lacks attention to detail. On my wedding day, the second photographer showed up around 3:30 pm-4:00 pm instead of 1:00 pm. There also should have been better transitions from scene to scene in both full videos, but especially for the wedding (minimal editing was done).During the full wedding video, the lighting for one video camera is different/worse than the lighting for the second video camera. Camera/video equipment was visible in the full wedding video in the corner of the room (this should never have happened). I requested the raw video from Ray so that maybe in the future if I could spend more money on top of the fortune I had already spent to get another editor to fix it. Ray said that he did not have the raw video of my wedding. Ray did not give me the full video the first time I asked and I basically accepted the full wedding video as is. A few weeks later, I asked Ray for the full raw video again, but he said he had deleted it. I was and still am VERY UPSET because it hadn’t even been a full year since my wedding. Overall, Ray is a friendly person and has good intentions but the work he provides is not the same quality he displays on his website. I would not recommend Ray as your wedding photographer. If you still decide to choose Ray as your wedding photographer after reading this review please consider these tips: Make sure to write everything out in the contract: How many DVDs you want, a different intro for the wedding, the raw video footage. Set up a time with him to sit down and review your wedding day schedule. Maybe send him ahead of time exactly what you want included in your wedding video/highlight video to avoid reediting.

He took the time to interview us to "get to know" the couple and worked in a format to where we were comfortable. Always very punctual and was able to work around other unexpected issues that had arisen during the wedding. Cannot describe how HIGHLY I recommend Ray & Team!!!!

Ray and his team are superb. He made the whole experience so enjoyable. Outdoor and indoor shots captured the essence of our wedding. So grateful he was a part of my big day. Highly recommend.

BEST PHOTOGRAPHER EVER!!!! He did my wedding, my sisters, my brothers wedding and all our events. He’s our go to guy! He always goes above and beyond for us. He knows that the bride is stressed as is and he just takes that stress away. One thing less for you to worry about. If you don’t go to Ray, you’re going to regret it. Truly and honestly a loss if he’s not the photographer for your event. I’ve never seen anyone have better wedding photos than mine and my family members. He’s so creative and has such fun ideas! I am not the person who usually leaves reviews for businesses, but I had to for Ray and his team. Hiring Ray capture the most important day of my life was the best decision I ever made!! I am the kinda the person who wants to relive my wedding day every time I look at my wedding pictures, and Ray did exactly that. I only told him the vision once and he delivered more than my exceptions. My husband & I were so comfortable in front the camera with Ray, he made sure we enjoyed every moment of it. My family LOVED him, and couldn't stop talking about how amazing he was. To every couple-- your wedding day will come and go by with a blink of an eye but the pictures and videos will last you a lifetime so it is so important you hire a team that will do just that. Ray, I dont know where to start. Literally the most passionate person I have personally met. He went above and beyond for my fiance and I. Due to a family emergency we couldnt do our pre- wedding shoot until a week before the wedding, Ray made sure we had a video and that it was PERFECT. Ray and his team stayed up late nights editing our pre-shoot video so it was completed before the wedding day. Ray makes it his responsibility to make sure you will love the photos he takes, trust me you will not just love your photos you will LOVE your photos. Ray is very friendly and will definately make sure you are comfortable to make it a smooth process. I am so glad we received his services for out fairytale wedding and we plan on cherishing this relationship and plan on receiving his services for all of our future events! Ray is the absolute best photographer out there! He not only takes amazing pictures but he is an honest vendor that’s passionate about his work. In today’s wedding industry it’s hard to find someone who you can trust and isn’t just trying to make money off of you. Ray not only took amazing photos during mine and my husband’s wedding photoshoot, he also took so many photos of the event and provided extraordinary event coverage. Ray is also so easy to work with. I don't know where to begin! Ray was not just a photographer to us, he became a part of our family and a brother to me. He sat down with me for almost 3 hours on our first meeting and we talked about our lives and those hours flew by until the cafe we were at had to close for the night. He took each and every shot as an insider to our lives rather than just a photographer. He is incredibly patient and he has your back through all the wedding festivities. I couldn't be happier with my decision to pick Ray's Photography for my wedding. I knew from the moment I saw his work, he was the best option. His vision and photography style aligned perfectly with the style I was looking for. He brings a completely different perspective that many competitors simply don't have. Needless to say, the wedding pictures turned out beautiful. Throughout the session he did a great job making us feel comfortable, which is so important when working with any photographer. His mind works in such a creative way- during our session there was a golf cart driving by, he asked the golfer if we could take some pictures with his cart and clubs, and WOW those pictures are so different, creative, and ADORABLE. The moment I saw Ray's Phoyography, I wanted him as my wedding photographer. Picking up wedding photographer was the easiest one for me because he just seems like the best one. You don't find anything wrong with his job! The moment you talk to him he makes you feel so comfortable and tries to take all the stresses away atleast photography and videography part. He is a very friendly person which is very important because photographer is one of the most important part of your wedding! He can make your wedding look the best or trash! I like him a lot not just because of his photography also because of his personality. I remember when it started raining on my wedding day out of no where, and he was telling me it's okay he will go and pray so the rain stops. We didn't freak out and we still got to manage to take outdoor pictures. It stopped raining before it gets dark. I just can't say enough good things about him. Not just him, his whole team was helpful and caring. My in laws were so proud of me for picking Ray because my father in law loved his work and personality!! I'm just very happy with his work and excited to see him growing every day! TRUST ME YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH RAY! he will just take time to deliver pictures and videos, but wait is worth!! On the day of our wedding was a huge storm so we had to reschedule our photoshooting at last minute and Ray was so kind to offer us another date that works with us. On the day when we were taking pictures he came to pick us up from our location and drove to where we wanted our pictures to be taken. After we parked the car he saw this spot and said "let's try out something here", even tho that wasn't location we planned to go. He took magnificent pictures there, talked to us, made us be so comfortable and relaxed. He was giving us more ideas, that by the end we didn't even noticed him while he was photographing us. We also went to locations we planned to take pictures. He spent good quality of time and accomplished what we wanted, probably beyond that. On the end we had feeling like he is our friend from over the years and we are both so happy that we chose him for this special occasion because now we have amazing pictures for memory thanks to him. I would 100% recommend his services to everybody. Ray is really easy going person and would do everything to make people he works with,satisfied! He is professional and know his job. Overall, great experience working with him!

WORST experience of my wedding. I contacted Ray about my wedding videography/photography months prior. When speaking to him over the phone for the first time, he pressured my fiancee and I to put in a deposit or else will give our date to someone else. He stated that he will send us a contract when he received the money. We then went ahead and wire transferred $1000 to him. Days turned into weeks and we never got a contract. We asked him repeatedly for the contract but no reply from him. Weeks before our wedding, we were left with no choice but to hire someone else in fear of not having a videographer/photographer. We then sent him an email asking him to return our money, but our calls and emails were still ignored until days before the wedding when he refused to return our money. Our wedding was in March, and to this very day, he refuses and has not returned our $1000 deposit. The amount of stress and duress he gave us during what was supposed to be memorable event in our lives, was appalling. He was extremely unprofessional, contacting our venue (who had no part) forwarding our email thread to them which then caused issues with our venue days before our wedding. He breached every rule in the client/vendor relationship. With many ups and down during a wedding, he was by far our worst experience putting us through unbelievable pain. Ray is a total nightmare and a crook. If I have any regret, it is the reference of even contacting this man. BEWARE! DO NOT HIRE HIM! He will scam you out of your money.

Ray is professional, creative, talented, very reasonable, and so easy to work with. The mood was cheerful, the environment was comfortable and the end result was brilliant. Ray is an amazing person, he's very funny but very smart/sharp when it comes to his work. His team were very nice, and respectful. Each picture perfectly captured the emotion of the day! Ray captured every single moment and detail of my sister big day perfectly. We had SO MANY great shots from my sister wedding - I don't think there was a single photo we didn't love. I was planing our Weedding from A-Z and I never thought that finding a photographer will be an issue, so a month from our weeding day I find myself ready for the big party but no photographer. I start calling people to see if they can find me a good photographer not professional even as most of them has been booked already. Finally, one of my friends asked to call Rey and see if he can do it as he did see his work before so I did called Rey right after I hung up with my friend and Rey was so Up to all of my expectation. He explained to me everything and even the number of his stuff who will be with him covering our special day from early morning until the end of the party. The price was very reasonable to the amount of the work he will puts in so we did the deal. In the weeding day, he did not only do what he promised to do but even more by taking more pics and adding nice small clips to the weeding video, at end every thing was so perfect and am so thankful to Rey and his team for thier job and also to my friend who referred me to him.

My husband and I had an amazing engagement shoot where Ray went above and beyond for us and spent the entire day with us. For the wedding, Ray was with us from 1pm until after 2am...you won't find any other photographer who does that and is that personal. Ray is very creative and his work is amazing!

Hiring Ray as our photographer was one of the best decisions we could have made! Out of all of the stress and hecticness that is the wedding day, the one thing we did not have to worry about was the photography. He met with my family and I multiple times, first as an intial consultation, and second a few days before the event to solidify exactly what we wanted. The day of, his team came right on time, and he didn't mind when I had delays of my own, instead took the time to shoot around the hall and of the groom. He made sure that there was always a crew member or him in every location to not miss a thing! He not only captures wonderful candid photos and videos, but he also knows exactly how to help us pose for beautifully artistic photos. Before the party he corresponded with our lighting guy to make sure the lighting for our photos was perfect! He also made sure to blend in with the guests at the party while managing to record every single significant moment. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer, thank you Ray!!

I had a very unfortunate experience with Ray Alghadban Photography (aka Ray Photography). I would not recommend anyone to risk their wedding day with this photographer.. It is not worth the emotional strife as a bride. You will get a lot of hype with no quality or follow through. Ray’s final product is low quality; his customer service is bad; he is dishonest and lacks respect even in a situation where there is a death of a loved one. He just takes your money insisting he wants it upfront before the final product and I sadly discovered why. All my final products were below standard and my concerns were not resolved. I had to hire another company to edit their sloppy work in photography, videography, and get a new photobook. It cost me a couple of thousand dollars to fix everything to the best of my ability and the video was never redeemable. When Ray first meets you (which will be at some coffee shop somewhere because he has no office), he shows you work he did before and his edits which look great at first glance. He is a savvy salesman, however, when it comes to the final product, he is unwilling to conduct any edits. Also, there is a gap between the work he displays online and the work he produces for your privately. If he knows that your work will not be publically displayed, he does not put the level of edits to have final quality displayed publically. For Ray, photography is his secondary side job (he has a full-time job which he prioritizes) and he rushes all of his work with compromised quality and does not meet deadlines in a timely manner. He did not have the proper permits for hotel insurance requirements and I found out he illegally uses the DJs permits which puts your wedding day at risk. He doesn’t tell you this in advanced even though he is well aware of it. Video-graphing skills are substantially below standard – it looks like a home-made video. I could never salvage the video fully even with other company edits. My video features shaking hands of the camera man and the shadow of the camera in the scenes. I told Ray I would like to have it edited and he agreed. Then one of my family members died in the video so I could not bear to watch the video and delayed reviewing edits, then, when I approached him about my video, he lied and said he no longer had the video. Imagine, I was devastated because it was my last memory of my loved one! At that point, I insisted and argued that I did not need it edited (since it was the last video I have of my deceased loved-one and at that point the priority was to secure it) then when he realized that I did not care about the edits, he suddenly coincidentally found the video! My photo shots were not bad but the issue is that any edits I requested was not followed through. Also, the first dance of my husband and I was missing with no good explanation!!! I also had to pay to get my photos edited by another photography company because of how sloppy the editing work was. Furthermore, the photobook had less pages than what was contracted to me and it was VERY low quality. It looks like the photos were automated and pasted anywhere without consideration for order or logic. There were awkward blank spots where pictures were not fitted correctly. Sadly, you can get a better photobook design on shutterfly.com. Again, I paid another company for a new photobook that reflected the quality needed for a wedding. There is no comparison in the work.

Ray was the best and most professional vendor we ever dealt with. He not only makes your day spectacular, but also goes above and beyond any expectation you may have. He not only became our photographer, but also acted as a coordinator and friend. he will definietly be our lifelong photographer!!! Thanks Ray, for making our big day so special!!!

Ray's work is simply amazing! I really loved the way he took charge in terms of poses, and creativity. He was open to suggestions from myself/ bridal party in terms of shots that we wanted included. I was a little disappointed that I didn't have any full body shots of me in my dress. However, he did take some amazing shots and his camera is definitely quality. He worked tirelessly to make sure he was there to capture all of the special moments, and I was grateful for that! He is truly talented!

Ray is the best of the best, not just he is professional but he is SUPER COOL. That wedding day is the happiest day ever for the bride and the groom, but it could be a bit stressful at the begging of the night. So having someone who is SO friendly and happy/calm looking around is SO relieving. I was so panicking that day and so was my wife, but Ray was able to calm both of us down. The outdoor/indoor photos are so so so good. The video is better that I expected. The outdoor photos were suppose to be taken by 6 and Ray came at 5. but we were running late, and was finally ready by 7:30 and by then the sun was almost down, Ray compromised and had amazing ideas and it is just so great, photos turned out so good. I defiantly recommend Ray, he is the BEST.

Photography and videography was very important to me for my wedding day. Despite the caterers and location, I think the photos will stay with you forever. That is why I decided to choose Ray's Photography. I shopped and shopped for over 5 months for the right photographer and I finally found Ray. His team really made my day. The quality of service is top notch. The team knew exactly what to do as soon as they arrived at the location. They knew where to be to not get in the way of other people. They knew what types of angle and photos to take. They are adaptable to pretty much every conditions. My groom and I tried to save costs by having us getting ready at our own home. Ray managed to find the right spot for pretty pictures. It was raining on the day of my wedding. I was worried all day that I wouldn't be able to get the best pictures as I have previously planned. Ray, for some reason, made me trust the quality of his work and professionalism. He can turn the smallest little corner into an awesome backdrop. He responded quickly to my inquires prior to the wedding day and also after the wedding day. He is extremely flexible in terms of timing. I highly recommend Ray's Photography. They are extremely professional. I cannot wait to see the rest of the photos and videos.

Ray's services are beyond anyone can ask for. Ray did both photography and videography for my wedding this past July and I could not have dreamed of a better result: 1) He provided flexibility that no one else in the industry would allow- times/locations/and plans - he was accommodating to all requests and went out of his way to ensure I got what I wanted. I cannot reiterate this point more - he decreased my stress level on the day of my wedding because I knew he would adapt to anything unexpected! 2) His work is out of this world. He truly is an all-in-one package. His assistants are also very professional, friendly, and well-presented. 4) He cares and is detailed. He won't give up until what he has captured is perfect. He also got to know me and my husband's personality - I felt comfortable contacting him anytime with questions and he was always readily available! 5) The turnaround time was amazing - he provided pictures and video clips soon after my event ended. Overall amazing experience.

Ray was outstanding to work with! He met with us early on to discuss our expectations and review many things that would enhance our wedding event and the photography; the lighting, our setting, colors, and other details we had not considered. He is very artistic and passionate about photography. We used all of his suggestions and we're very happy we did so. He is very engaging and we had a lot of fun shooting photos ahead of our ceremony. He blended right in as the event progressed, never conspicuous, but seeming to capture everything. We are anxiously waiting to see the final results!
