R.D. King was absolutely amazing! He played during our cocktail hour - hearing his beautiful music while we were taking pictures was one of the highlights of our day! He made the process easy all the way up to the wedding day and the day of. Would recommend R.D. King for his wonderful music and professional nature!

RD King’s music was one of the biggest highlights of our wedding! He is a wonderful musician, and he worked very closely with us to make sure that he understood our musical tastes and the atmosphere we wanted for the event. He is extremely easy to work with, and we received numerous complements for our music that day. We would hire him again and recommend him to others in a heartbeat!

R.D. King was fast to respond, easy to plan with and very friendly. His music was the perfect background for a beach welcome party the night before a wedding and set the ideal vibe. His covers are awesome but his originals are even better. Multiple guests were bummed not to see him back on the beach the following day as the bride walked down the aisle. He would have been perfect!

All I can say is wow! We hired Russell to play for our wedding ceremony and it was truly magical. We got married at a family home by the beach, and wanted to balance a formal affair with it feeling intimate, summery, and lighthearted. The fingerstyle guitar turned out to be the perfect choice to fit that vibe and it was like nothing I'd ever heard before at another wedding. Russell was so easygoing and lovely throughout, on-time and organized day of, and most importantly provided such a beautiful backdrop to our day. Thank you!!!

R.D King made a beautiful custom arrangement for our wedding (sent us the file to be played by our DJ or even by us on our phones). I wanted to surprise my husband with a slow version of our song, First Day of My Life, for our last dance (like a first dance, but alone at the end of the night). I contacted R.D about this, and he was enthusiastic as he also loved the song. I am not musically inclined, so my request was basically "can you make this slow enough for a slow dance?" R.D was able to take that vague direction and create a great arrangement. It wasn't quite what was in my head, so I made another vague edit request. R.D nailed it, and I literally jumped up and down with joy because it was EXACTLY what I wanted. Thank you, R.D for making our dance such a special moment!

We couldn't have been more satisfied with the performance during our four hour rehearsal dinner and welcome gathering. Russell's incredibly high level of expertise combined with his congeniality and professionalism make him perfect for background or stage performance. His energy level never faded and everyone was commenting on how much they enjoyed his selection of music.

We didn't want to hire a band for our reception but still hoped to incorporate live music in some way and R.D. was the perfect answer. R.D King was an amazing addition to our wedding, not just as a stellar guitar player and performer, but also as a creative voice for planning our ceremony. Our venue had dropped out of providing us a day-of coordinator for our rehearsal, and R.D. King was able to provide quick guidance and support in an otherwise extremely stressful moment! This act of generosity and work ethic would alone merit a 5 star rating, but he also perfectly arranged the music my wife and I wanted for our ceremony. He provided preliminary meetings to discuss arrangements and styles, then sent over a brief sample, months before our wedding date, just to be sure he had captured the right sound and feel for our wedding. And it was perfect! Could not recommend him enough! If you are unsure what kind of music accompaniment you would like for your wedding, stick with R.D. King, as you will not be disappointed!

R.D. is an extremely talented guitarist whose professionalism remains unmatched. My husband and I had a very intimate wedding with only 24 guests. We took a lot of care in deciding who we would hire for the music during our ceremony as well as the reception dinner following. Russell was very prompt in answering all of my inquires and encouraged us to set up a phone call so we could get to know him better and so he could get to know what we were looking for before we even officially booked him. From that first phone call, we learned what to expect and what was included in his pricing and he gave us his honest feedback on how we had planned to have the evening flow. He arrived in a nice suit well in advance to set up, make sure everything was working properly and tune up. He handled the last minute changes due to the pouring rain in stride with little to no direction from us, as we were occupied with other day of activities. We chose all of the music we wanted him to play and even requested that he learn a few special songs, which he executed flawlessly. He even politely and professionally handled settling a disgruntled mother who was requesting a song be played from her phone that was not on our list. I felt very confident in choosing Russell from the start. He is very self sufficient and it is very obvious how much pride he takes in his work and how experienced he is. We got multiple comments on his skill and his ability to play such a wide range of music.

RD was AMAZING! He did the music for our ceremony and made a custom arrangement of a song we were worried might not translate well to guitar, but he made an absolutely STUNNING arrangement that we still listen to very often. He was responsive, fun to work with, and professional--easily adapting to the weather and working with our venue's A/V setup guy. Phenomenal experience, amazing amazing guitarist, great guy. 10/10 would recommend!

As part of the planning, he sends you his repertoire of a huge number of songs in many genres to indicate your preferences. The day of the event, he was on time and dressed nicely. But of course the best part was the music! He is so talented, and everyone enjoyed his playing. He took only a short break over the four hours he was there. He has unbelievable stamina, and really enjoys performing and bringing pleasure to the audience. My wife and I married on the Odyssey on September 11th of 2022. R.D King did an amazing job - guests are still commenting! R.D. was very easy to work with and was able to offer more or less support (as needed) with song selection for prelude, processional, and recessional. Overall, we chose specific processional songs and the recessional song. We empowered R.D. to choose the prelude music as he was able to make us feel comfortable based on phone conversations/web calls. If we were to do the wedding all over again, we would likely try to incorporate R.D. even more! Very professional to work with and an amazing guitarist. Thanks again R.D!

Russ is an incredibly talented musician and when my husband and I decided we wanted a specific rock song for me to walk down the aisle to, we knew he would be perfect to arrange this for us to make it wedding-worthy! Russell was incredible! We hired him for classical guitar for our ceremony and it was so perfect. Exactly what I hoped for. For the other music of the day, we explained to him the type of music we liked, and he ran with it! So it was minimal planning on our part, and an extraordinary musical experience on his part. Having R. D. King as our ceremony music was so wonderful and he was such pleasure to work with. We asked him to do pre-ceremony music and processional/recessional. He was really attentive to the vibe we were trying to establish, but his creativity and talent was breathtaking. He was able to cover all the songs we requested (highly recommend Something by the Beatles, my bridal song) and added his beautiful fingerpicking talent. We had considered hiring a trio of strings, but I can say unequivocally, RD King was the way to go.
