Record Box Loft is a wedding venue located on the riverfront in downtown Battle Creek. Our original hardwood floors, exposed brick and open floorpan flooded with natural light gives our space an urban, industrial vibe that’s perfect for a party for up to 250 guests. After a complete restoration of this historic building, built in 1902, we rebranded as Record Box Loft to pay homage to its roots. Once known as the Record Printing and Box Company, cereal boxes were printed here for many years in the cereal capital of the world. Many onsite amenities are provided including onsite preparation rooms, tables, industrial chairs, and an onsite catering kitchen and bar area for vendor's use. From the team behind The Cheney Place, Leona Road, PUNCH Bar Catering and Fringe Events, we have deep experience in West Michigan’s wedding industry. We are proud to also include the the following services for our wedding clients: 1) Design: We will meet with you to develop a custom floor plan for your event and would also be happy to schedule a meeting to assist with linen and tablescape options, 2) Event Setup: Setup tables and chairs and assist with placing and hanging your personal decor, 3) Tear it Down: When your party is over, our staff will assist with taking down and packaging all decor, 4) Month and Day of Coordination: We’ll help plan your full timeline and coordinate the details with your vendors the week of your event. Our team will manage your event including ceremony, entrance, toasts and sendoff and will work closely with your vendors to ensure everything runs smoothly. We are located in southwest Michigan, approximately halfway between Chicago and Detroit and conveniently close to our surrounding communities including Kalamazoo, Jackson, Lansing and Grand Rapids. We had the most incredible experience at The Record Box Loft! From start to finish, the venue coordinators were amazing to work with. They were responsive, easy to communicate with, and always quick to return my emails. They were also super flexible, allowing me to take full control of the table layout for our reception. One of the biggest perks was that they handled all of the decor setup and teardown—I only needed a few family members to help unload and reload at the elevator, which made the entire process stress-free. The venue also provided two gorgeous getting-ready suites, which were such a great addition to our day. These spaces were perfect for our wedding party to relax, get ready, and have a private place to stay hidden away before the ceremony. Additionally, The Record Box Loft offers a dedicated cocktail hour space, allowing guests to head downstairs while the main area is flipped from ceremony to reception. This made for such a seamless transition and gave us a moment to take everything in before the reception started! The in-house bar was another huge highlight! The drink packages and cocktail selections were fantastic, and I loved that they let me rename my signature drinks to “Something Old” and “Something New.” The bartenders were not only skilled but also fun and attentive, keeping our guests happy all night. Beyond the amazing service, the venue itself was absolutely stunning. It sits right next to the river, making it a perfect backdrop for couples' portraits, wedding party shots, and family photos. I’ve received endless compliments on how beautiful both the building and the decor were. Another highlight of the night was the photo booth! It was a huge hit with our guests, who had so much fun taking photos and GIFs together. Some even got into the props and took themed pictures, which made for some great memories! It was truly the perfect setting for our special day. If you're looking for a wedding venue that is both breathtaking and incredibly well-run, I cannot recommend The Record Box Loft enough!

Absolutely wonderful venue! Extremely helpful and creative staff. We had a small wedding and they worked extra hard to make sure everything ran smoothly and the room looked full. I cannot recommend rbl enough, truly.

I wish I could give Record Box Loft more than 5 stars! They were incredibly helpful and our wedding day would not have been as amazing as it was without them. The gorgeous building is what caught our attention, but the staff is truly what sold us on this venue. Everyone was so helpful during the whole wedding process and really seemed to genuinely care about our vision and what we wanted our wedding day to be like. We mostly worked with Brooke, and she was wonderful! She set up my decor so beautiful, I could not have imagined it better. They really made sure we were able to enjoy the wedding (and the night before) by not having to worry about setting up and tearing down decor. Our friends and family gave us many compliments about how nice and helpful the staff was! I would recommend anyone to get married at RBL!!

The team at Record Box was so amazing to work with! Throughout the planning process, they were super helpful, responsive, and organized. On the day of the wedding, they were fantastic as well. We had a few small changes to our plans in the final 24 hours, and we ran quite a bit behind schedule with our photos prior to the ceremony. Brooke just rolled with it, helped make those last-minute changes, and made everything feel so stress-free and under control. She was available throughout the whole evening as well, which really helped me disconnect and be able to enjoy the event instead of worrying about the details. Aside from the staff, the venue itself was perfect as well! It felt very spacious for our guest list of about 100. The ceremony/reception space on the third floor felt very spacious and looked beautiful. The cocktail hour space on the second floor was also great, and provided a very comfortable space with plenty of room for our guests to mingle around a bit. We got tons of compliments about this venue/staff, and I’d definitely recommend them!

I can’t say enough good things about Record Box Loft and their coordinators Hannah and Brooke. I am fairly detail oriented, and was particular about the day I had spent almost two years planning, and they made my day so easy and perfect. They were very attentive to any question, need, or concern that I had to make my day run smoothly and perfect. I had nothing but great experiences with Hannah and Brooke. We are SO happy we chose Record Box Loft for our wedding venue!!! We got so many compliments on the venue from guests! It was so naturally beautiful we felt like we didn’t need a ton of decor and let the space speak for itself. The space outside is just as beautiful and there were several gorgeous places to take photos just outside the venue! It was also reasonably priced for what was provided - tables, chairs, linens, some decor, set up and tear down of the ceremony and reception space/personal decor, and a day of coordinator. Hannah, our day of coordinator, was truly the sweetest and had everything covered for us for a seamless and stress free experience on the day of our wedding. She thought of several small details we would have forgotten during the planning process, and coordinated our rehearsal as well, so my husband and I, as well as our bridal party, felt prepared for the big day :-) I would recommend Record Box Loft to anyone planning a wedding!

I could go on and on about how wonderful our wedding at RBL was! Brooke and Hannah were so thorough and constantly supported my husband and I from the initial stages to making sure everything went as planned the day of. The coordinators take care of basically everything - we didn’t have to worry about decor set up or tear down which is a major plus! All the staff members were super friendly. Brooke was our main contact and made an effort to get to know us. On the day of our rehearsal, she made my husband and I bride and groom friendship bracelets b/c she knew I loved Taylor Swift! The venue itself is amazing - all our guests commented on how beautiful it was. So many good locations both inside the building and nearby to get photos as well! I cannot recommend RBL enough and know future couples will love it as much as we did!!

Planning a wedding out of state can be a very daunting process, especially when picking a venue over zoom. We were trying to find a good spot for our families to meet in the middle, since mine are from the west side and my now husbands are from the east side of Michigan. Record Box Loft was a perfect distance for those trying to find a place to meet in the middle of the state. The Record Box Loft team made the planning process so easy on us! We fell in love with the space almost immediately, and the team did such a great job of meeting our own individual needs. The rest of the planning process with them was so easy. They responded to our questions so quickly, and we were never stressed with the little details! They are such a flexible team that truly wants to make the day so special for you! I could go on and on about the planning process! Now to our actual wedding day, from the beginning of the weekend to the end, the team at Record Box Loft had such a high level of attention to making sure our day ran as smoothly as possible. They took over the decorating process for us and made sure that our timeline ran smoothly. They took care of so many little details that weren’t even on my mind. They assist with both setting up and taking down that our family and friends didn’t have to lift a finger. The space was SO beautiful and I am so excited to see our pictures. We took a majority of our pictures inside due to the beauty of the space. Our guests RAVED about the space and the team. For logistics, they have a great parking lot located for guests right nearby. They had an elevator for those that couldn’t take the stairs and catered their needs during cocktail hour. The area of Battle Creek has great things to offer, including many bars and restaurants (one located in the same building as Record Box Loft). We also loved utilizing their photo booth! Our guests loved getting to take pictures and videos. I very much highly recommend Record Box Loft to any person planning their wedding in the Battle Creek area.

Wow! Highly recommend this venue! The venue itself is so beautiful, we were able to keep decor to a minimum and it was still just so beautiful. The staff went above and beyond! Brooke and Hannah were ON TOP of everything, and did such a great job coordinating the event as a whole, and also the switchover from ceremony to reception. We were able to just sit back and enjoy watching our daughter marry the love of her life. So much joy! And the selfie station is worth it - the guests had so much fun with that!

The staff was amazing! They went above and beyond. When they found out my photographer canceled last minute they jumped into action to see if they could find someone. Then when my "flower dude" wasn't able to come they offered to see if one of their staff or vendors would fill in. They made everything perfect! I will remember thar night forever. The second my (now husband) and I seen RBL we knew this was where we would seal our forever promises to one another. We didn’t even look further for any other venue once we did our virtual meeting/walk through. From start to finish, working with these wonderful ladies made my life as the bride planning everything a BREEZE. I truly so appreciate them. In regards to the venue itself, how could you not fall in love with it?! My guests still compliment us and we’re almost three months after our wedding now, with many of them saying this one be hard to top! Record Box Loft was such a beautiful, well taken care of space to hold our ceremony & reception! With super customizable floor plans, lots of space for guests to mingle, and even some simple decor included, it was a great space to host our wedding. Throughout the planning process, our contacts at RBL, Brooke & Hannah, were incredibly detailed, helpful, and kind. I sent so many one-off emails with random questions and they always gave detailed answers of suggestions & options/what to expect. They also made sure that we had all of our planning nearly complete before the big day so that everything went smoothly. Day of, having the staff available to set up, tear down, and coordination saved SO much stress and really let us enjoy our day to the fullest. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! <3

I loved working with Hannah! She was amazing and helped planned our special day. Everyone was so helpful and made our day flawless without hiccups. Honestly only downside is venue opens at noon so as a bride you cannot get hair and make up done there unless you have multiple hair and make up girls. But overall it’s gorgeous venue and all our guest loved it.

Hands down the best venue I could’ve asked for! I originally picked the space because of its looks but I would pick the staff any day! They are so great. They’re so nice and truly care about making your day perfect. I was lucky enough to work with Brooke and Ruby. They had answers to all my questions throughout the whole process. I didn’t meet Ruby until the day of but I’m so glad I did! She was literally running to get me anything I needed and I can’t say enough good things about Brooke! She was so helpful. We could not have been happier with our choice to host our wedding at Record Box Loft! The venue itself is gorgeous and we loved the vibe the second we walked in for our tour. The staff is amazing and was very organized and communicative through the entire wedding planning process, regularly checking in and providing recommended "to dos" for each step of planning. Brooke was SO organized and helpful through the final stages of planning and our wedding rehearsal. Elsea was there the morning of our wedding setting up decor and keeping the timeline of the day moving, and she executed our vision flawlessly. From the ceremony to cocktial hour to the reception to clean up, our wedding day was beautiful, low stress and so much fun, and even our guests can not stop talking about how wonderful Record Box Loft was.

Record Box Loft. When we walked into the venue we fell in love with the rustic look mixed with the industrial feel. From the black wire railings and stairs, to the 200 yr old brick. Little did we know the staff and the way they carried themselves was our favorite part. The staff was exceptional. They treated us like royalty, and made our stressful day easy. We were super impressed with the way they had everything under control with always having our opinion at the top of the list. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone that expects professionalism but also needs the support of a great staff that actually cares.

This venue was a dream. First of all, great location and views, plenty of parking for guests, and the option for an outdoor ceremony. The building has so much history, I was complimented on it the whole night!! Super affordable, with tons of decor rental options and coordinators that are amazing to work with. I can’t say enough good things about Hannah and Brooke- they were always quick to respond to emails/questions, walked through everything I needed to know, kept the planning on track throughout the months leading up to the big day, and made sure my day went smoothly and beautifully! Book this hidden gem!

My husband and I were married here on 3.17.23 and I could not have asked for smoother, happier, more amazing day - and while I could probably say it's because it was meant to be, really so much of the credit goes to Hannah, Record Box's manager. Hands down she made the entire process such an amazing experience for us, from when we first reached out in July 2022 to the day of. She made us feel special and listened to, she genuinely seemed to enjoy her role, and pulled off some amazing details we hadn't even thought about. We loved the venue itself for it's look and beauty without over decoration, and still managed to bring quite a bit of mish-mashed decorations that Hannah turned into thoughtful scenes and layouts that seemed like it had always been meant to look like that. Her and the whole team were fabulous about being there to assist and decorate (and hype up my husband and I), and then pack everything away so speedily (and carefully given we have delicate glass centerpiece to take home) that I'm beyond impressed. At one point we accidently created a receiving line at the top of the third floor, and Hannah very discreetly asked my husband if we needed a rescue to start our reception. The whole day was like a dream and I HIGHLY recommend anyone planning a wedding or event. Thank you Hannah and Record Box Loft!

Everything I could have hoped for and more! I fell in love with the Record Box Loft in December 2019, as they were first opening and accepting reservations. I loved the building and the story behind the couple who made it their mission to renovate it and bring it back to life. We signed our contract in January of 2020 for a wedding in May of 2021. Obviously, COVID happened and in January 2021 we made the decision to push our wedding to 2022. They were so understanding during the process and were actually holding all available dates for 2022 in case 2021 couples needed to reschedule, which I feel says a lot about their character and commitment to their customers. We were able to reschedule to May of 2022 and despite all of the chaos of COVID, the Record Box was flexible and kept a stressed bride calm when things were falling apart. Then, life happened again and despite a change in ownership, the Record Box again made it a seamless transition. They did a great job making sure that everything we had originally planned would still be able to happen. The new-to-us management introduced themselves and set up a time to meet with us to go over our plans and contract, and were very accommodating. Our actual wedding was perfect. We got so many compliments on the venue and with the natural beauty of the space, we didn't have to spend much on decorations. Our first dance took place during "golden hour" and our pictures turned out amazing. Everything was well worth the wait. I am SO happy with our experience from start to finish, and I am absolutely recommending this venue to all of my friends for their future weddings.

The Record Box was wonderful! The day of my huband and my's wedding went so smoothly because of the staff coordinating all the pieces together. And I love how I could use the facility as the main decor and figure out accent pieces throughout. My guests were also impressed...Battle Creek doesn't seem like the best place for a wedding, but this venue is a diamond in the rough! The spruced up downtown and river walk are such a fun aspect. Would recommend this for any bride looking for a stress free wedding day!

Record Box Loft was the first major decision my husband and I made when we began wedding planning. We toured it when it was still under renovation, holes in the floor, major components still unfinished. During our extended engagement due to COVID, the owners changed and we were a little nervous. Hannah and Abbey but us at ease when we began making the final plans for our wedding. Our wedding day went smoothly thanks to the RBL team. We received so many compliments on this beautiful venue. My husband and I recently got married at Record Box Loft. This venue was our absolute dream— exposed brick walls, big windows surrounding the entire venue, simple and modern decor, high ceilings, industrial and updated accents, beautiful light fixtures, the list goes on and on! The space is just incredibly stunning and functional. The RBL staff (especially Hannah and Abbey) are phenomenal. Communication leading up to our big day was fast and so easy. They were on top of every little detail and went above and beyond to make sure they tailored to our specific vision. On our wedding day, the staff served as day-of-coordinators and really made our whole day run sooooo smoothly. We couldn’t have asked for a better group of staff to work with— they were FUN, professional, quick, and so prepared. By the end of our wedding, Abbey and Hannah became so much more than staff, but rather more like our friends. Having our wedding here was the best decision we made!!! 🤍

Could not have asked for a better venue or team to work with! Very organized, respectful and helpful staff. So many guests actually complimented us on picking such a beautiful venue with a great team! We chose to have our wedding in February and it was perfect. There were places for people to hang coats, staff present at different doors to help with those needing to use the elevator and the river nearby provided a fantastic backdrop for some chilly outdoor pictures. The day of, we had family members drop off decorations with a PDF explaining how we wanted things and the team did the rest! It was such a relief arriving later to find everything set up just how we wanted it. Definitely recommending this venue to anyone and everyone!

Record Box Loft was the PERFECT venue! They were extremely responsive and helpful every step of the way, and ensured that we had the best day possible. We had our ceremony and reception in the third floor loft space with a cocktail hour in between for transition. Our guest count was ~150, and everyone fit very comfortably. PROS: -The space doesn't need much decor - it is classic and elegant and speaks for itself. -The loft has windows all around the perimeter, allowing for lots of natural light which is very helpful in photos. -Booking the venue comes with day-of coordination service, which was very helpful. The day-of coordinators took care of the logistics of the day, all the way from our arrival/ceremony/reception time to communicating timing with the caterers, bartenders, and photographer. -Can bring own bartender and alcohol - saves lots of money. -Can bring own caterer - also saves lots of money. -Chairs/tables included (unless you do an outside ceremony, then chairs have to be rented). -Bridal suite and grooms suite are both very pretty and photograph well - this wasn't the case for most venues we toured! -Lots of beautiful outdoor space/scenery for photos. CONS: -Location. Battle Creek isn't the most ideal location, though it has potential. Stick with the hotels recommended by the venue - there are definitely some rougher ones in the area that our guests booked unknowingly. They ended up switching to different hotels because they felt unsafe. Overall, I highly recommend Record Box for their exceptional service, beautiful venue, and fairness of price.

We got in conversations with Record Box Loft midway through 2020, and they were the most accommodating venue with all of our requests and COVID related restrictions. From video chatting and showing the venue, to going with both of our parents on separate tours, you can’t get any better working with and communicating with Caitlynn. Although we were not able to have our wedding here due to changes in COVID-related gathering laws, we can’t recommend the gorgeous Record Box Loft enough!

Something you can't expect at most venues is how attentive and hands on Caitlynn (the owner) is. I chose this venue for my wedding and I am so thrilled I did. The vibe is very industrial and they did a beautiful job at restoring the old building into the venue space. I loved having the 2 floors so we could have some separation between cocktail hour and the reception/ceremony space. They were so helpful in giving recommendations for vendors to bring in. I am not from the Battle Creek area so that was very nice. On the day of the wedding they took care of everything and helped the day run smoothly.

We loved having our wedding reception here! Having booked when there were only pictures of the vision for this place to having had our reception, it was SO stunning. Caitlynn was kind, responsive and easy to work with, especially handling the pandemic restrictions and our unique situation. It’s evident that they put a lot of thought into making it a great place to host gatherings; the bar and kitchen had everything needed for out vendors to provide their services, there were well decorated prep rooms for the bridal party, a gathering area to get away downstairs, and nice bathrooms for guests (LOL). Everyone really loved the photo booth, beautiful design details and views of the river from the windows. It was also a convenient location for photos since it is so close to some beautiful spots. We are so glad we found the Record Box Loft as a place for our celebration. Thank you so much!

Everything about this place was absolutely incredible and a dream-come- true kind of wedding venue. Caitlynn made planning easy and their team made the day of so smooth I was able to put down my wedding planning responsibilities completely and pass them off to them. Everything I communicated was exactly as I pictured it and our day was PERFECT because of these wonderful people. For everything this venue includes, the price is truly amazing. I don’t think I can say enough about this incredible place to really do justice to how great it is- you’ll have to go see for yourself!

The atmosphere was amazing and the staff was awesome. They were there to assist us at any time of need and made sure our event was exactly what we expected. I highly recommend this place for any type of event. Big or small.

Bittersweet Bar Service LLC has had the opportunity to work with Record Box Loft and we absolutely love the space and the owners! Everything is organized, well kept and ready to go, there won't be a single worry with any event in the Record Box Loft.

The Record Box Loft exceeded our expectations. The venue was beautiful and everything I imagined for our wedding day. The venue team was so flexible in everything during the planning and on the day-of the wedding. They are very kind and work hard to make your wedding day perfect. My husband and I have no complaints and we recommend this venue to everyone!!!
