Ashley was so helpful and supportive throughout everything, and I always felt like I could count on her for anything I needed.
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful venue or a better experience for such a special day. We are so grateful for everyone who helped make our wedding unforgettable. Highly recommend! ❤️✨

This modern barn venue is available for gatherings all year round with covered and uncovered facilities. This country venue offers a large kitchen, several bathrooms, and beautiful preparation rooms for the wedding party. Red Acre Barn is the perfect place for your rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception.
A selection of rental equipment is available for your reception, including an arbor outside, centerpieces, and other décor options. The owners provide tables, chairs, benches, lighting, and sound facilities as part of your wedding package. They offer a fully stocked bar with an experienced team of bar staff. Bar services include a champagne toast, open bar, signature drinks, specialty wine, and house beer. Additionally, you will have full access to the kitchen area. This team provides setup, teardown, and cleaning services, allowing you to spend your time with loved ones. You are welcome to choose your vendors, and the owners will make suitable accommodations for your chosen band or DJ. An exclusive preparation lounge is available for you and your partner on your big day. The barn is pet-friendly, wheelchair accessible, and security is provided for your event. ely incredible to work with. I had what felt like a million questions throughout the planning process, and she was always so quick to respond, helpful, kind and never once made me feel like I was asking too much.
One of the things we appreciated most about Red Acre was how easy they made everything. We were able to come back and walk through the venue while we were planning, look through all of their décor, rent the barn the day before our wedding so we had plenty of time to set up, and have access to the building throughout the weekend. There were so many little details that we didn't have to worry about because they already had them covered, which made such a difference.
The venue itself is beautiful, but Ashley was genuinely wonderful throughout the entire process and made us feel taken care of from beginning to end. We would recommend Red Acre Barn to anyone looking for a venue. We had the best experience with the venue and all of their staff!

htaking the outdoor area was and how inside the barn glimmered. Our favorite parts of the barn were the archway which our florist had the freedom to decorate, the upper deck which overlooked the inside area, and the balcony on the front of the barn. We also really liked all the decor that was available to us that the barn provided which helped put the finishing touch on our space.
Ashley was really great to work with! Communication is very important to us and Ashley was always on top of responding to us in a timely manner. We booked the venue two years in advance of our wedding, and even to this day we remember vividly how great she was at making sure we knew all the necessary information. We knew we were in great hands. The staff were all just as amazing on the day of the wedding.

And to our incredible bartenders, Bryce, Stacy, and Maggie—there are truly no words to describe how amazing you all were. You kept the drinks flowing, the energy high, and our guests raved about you all night long.

day before the wedding and they had it all set up for us when we arrived at 8am. They move the tables to the side to make a center aisle and set up chairs in the front for immediate family. They have a store room with decorations you can use for the tables or elsewhere which is so nice! You also have use of a huge kitchen and can bring non-alcoholic drinks to serve guests - for alcohol, they have a full bar and the bartenders we had were fabulous! Overall, Ashley and her team are the best - can’t recommend them or the Red Acre Barn highly enough!

due to extreme heat and wind, the venue and day was so beautiful! My only critique/ disappointment (and it's minor) is the day of our wedding, it was 102 degrees out and we had about 220 guests. We closed all of the doors and tried our best to keep the doors shut as people were going in and out. The barn's AC struggled to keep up with the heat and the amount of people we had inside (especially during dinner when all of the hot food was being served). Despite that, the day was perfect and I am so happy that we chose Red Acre Barn!

of all, the cost was very reasonable compared to other venues in the Des Moines/Ankeny/Ames/Boone market! We had all day Friday to decorate and are really happy we had that time together! We bought our linens and a few extra color pops for the tables, but most of the table decorations were RABs. I can’t even imagine the extra cost and time that would have been! The owners were great to work with, super easy going and helpful when I had detail questions. The staff that worked the wedding night were very friendly and hard working! The venue is beautiful, lush and green this time of year, the long pathway was a very dramatic effect for our beautiful bride and bridesmaids! The best part of the Friday-Sunday rental, was that we just walked away after the dance was over! We sent the bride & groom on their way…one of the owners was there to lock up for us. We got everyone back to their Air BnB that night and met back up for coffee, donuts, clean up and present opening the next morning! After the months of planning, it was so great to have more than a hurried day to celebrate the new couple! Thank you to Red Acre Barn for an amazing, memorable wedding weekend!

Red Acre is the rental fee includes the use of their decorations, which sets them apart from a lot of the venues in the area. I would highly recommend this venue; a country setting but only 15 minutes from the Mills Civic exit in West Des Moines.

Sherry is the best venue manager! She is sweet and thoughtful and responded to emails lightning fast!
