We are Red Dirt Dancing, a husband and wife owned business centered around spreading our love for dance by teaching folks how to get out and have fun on the dance floor. With our roots in dancehalls and technique from the studios, we bring a unique and organic approach to wedding dances! Whether you are looking for a first dance, last dance, or any dance in between, we can help you feel confident as you step out on the floor. We have also taught group lessons at rehearsal dinner parties and even bachelor/bachelorette parties! As newlyweds ourselves, we understand the stresses of planning a wedding and want to make sure your vision and goals for your dance are met. Whether you are looking for a fully-choreographed first dance, just want some moves to wow your friends and family, we will make sure to have you prepared and having fun! We offer wedding packages for our wedding couples but we also understand life happens! You can book yourself for private lessons at your own pace through our Calendly scheduling system. We also teach group lessons at Thirsty Horse in San Antonio on Wednesdays (7:30-8:30pm) and Mavericks Dancehall Buda on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (7:30-8:30pm). Wednesdays are a country fusion dance lesson, Thursdays are "dancer's choice", Fridays are beginner two-step, and Saturdays are beginner/intermediate two-step. ticipate 5-6 total lessons. Ben & I are at different levels dancing but RDD does a great job balancing our needs so Ben doesn’t feel behind & I don’t feel bored. They are so great at articulating the steps, counting beats, and moves! They’re also well knowledged in dance & weddings so they can help us figure out our vision, which is so nice in already overwhelming process. They also charge per lesson (NOT a one-size-fits-all model) so how much you spend is really up to how quick you learn and how much support you’re looking for which we appreciated being worked with as individuals. going to the free lessons on Wednesday nights at thirsty horse for a few weeks and took 2 private lessons. The private lessons helped leaps and bounds to focus on our first dance song! Everyone loved it and they tailored it to fit our style (lack of flexibility, haha). They helped us add some fun moves to our wedding and even practice some poses for the photographer! We will definitely continue practicing with them! I would recommend this to anyone! Such a fun date night or just night out with friends!

eople that you want in your inner circle. They provided a fun experience teaching guests from Ecuador and Europe how to line dance. Some of the guests didn't speak English, but that was no problem, because the wedding guests followed all the moves with the choreography they demonstrated. Everyone had a great time; it was an evening full of smiles and tons of laughs. Chris and Sarah are easy to work with, flexible in the schedule and very accommodating in what we would like for our wedding guests to experience. I would definitely hire them again for any event!! class there, as well as all yall do to help newbies in the western dance community like myself! Thank you, both so much! One of my favorite things was the "cues" yall gave (especially to the leads) about maintaining contact with their forearm on the follows back to cue the follow that a duck under was about to happen (I might have gotten the terms wrong!) But it's the only time my brain was able to make a connection with the movement because there was a leader's physical touch to actually respond to 🤯 yall are brilliant! Thank you both again so so much for doing what yall do, keep up the excellent work!

, and they immediately made us feel comfortable. They are non-judge mental, but constantly encouraging (tons of high fives!) you to try new things. They allowed us to bring moves we wanted to do for our wedding, discussed what would work best with my wedding gown and even what would look best in photos (and which direction to face /how to get the photo we wanted). This experience was 100% customized to OUR wants and needs as a couple. Plus, found this to be an amazing date night experience (which is a relief when wedding planning). We have continued dancing with them months after the wedding, due to how fun, exciting and kind the experience is. You will constantly feel encouraged, laugh a ton, and spend quality time with your partner here. Plus, our wedding dance was a HIT, giving us some of the most memorable and beautiful photos of the wedding. Thank you to both of you for this unforgettable experience!
